Arkos was flying next to the ship, sometimes it was hard to spot him because he would fly high or the color of his feather matched the blue of the sky. As soon as he heard the captain, he landed in the crow's nest and made eye contact with the rest of the party.

"Ok, let's do this" says to himself.

A deck-mate comes up from below deck. "I saw a-a-a thing down in the bunks!"

Arlo smiles at the sailor, "I'm sure Nico didn't mean to startle you young man. He is just hunting the rat scally wags aboard this fair vessel. Be at ease."

Arlo will telepathically reach out to Nico. "What mischief are you up to now, hmm? You've startled the poor sailor so, that he appears as though he's seen a ghost."

"A foul denizen of the deep?" Agememnon roars, hefting his greatsword. " I shall cleanse this ship with my blade. "

As you contact Nico, You hear nothing back. "It wasn't a cat! i-i-it was a beast!"

"That's odd, maybe it sneaked from the last port you visited, could it be someone against our mission? or just ill luck... I guess it's not the proper time for an inquiry, we'll get to that later" says Arkos as he closes his eyes and is sorrounded by a dense blue mist that solidifies around him Mage Armor

At news of this, Arlo telepathically commands Nico to dissipate from whence he is & return to his location. Arlo casts Mage Armor upon himself & moves to follow Agamemnon towards the cabin.

"Let us go check it out comrades."

Agememnon does not hear Arlo's comment, because he is already hurtling below deck to slay this 'foul denizen of the deep'.

Arlo rushes to follow Agamemnon as he hurtles into the depths of the ship.

You all go below the deck. It's dark and murky. Ahead of you is the stockroom. it has some supplies for the ship and it's crew. to the left and right are the Bunks and behind you is the captains quarters. give me your passive perception.

Arlo's passive perception is 12.

Agememnon hears a slight splortch sound from the right bunk.

"This splortch betrays the presence of some foul creature." Agememnon says solemnly, striding over to the bunk and taking the Ready action to swing his greatsword at the creature if it presents itself to be a foe.

As you round the corner, you see the outline of a wretched man-beast half Human half Abomination. you attack lands but not enough for a solid hit. roll initiative.
