With one final attack before the spiders are among you the party lashes out killing two more spiders. As the spiders begin to break into the clearing Grant takes one out cleaving it in twain as he falls upon one in a leaping jump upon it. Meanwhile Jonathan charges into the spiders as they come into the clearing impaling one. I need Melee actions from everyone now or other actions they will be taking.

Taking on the left most spider, I make another mighty swing, trying to repeat the smooth and satisfying attack on the previous spider. Grinning tightly, I ready myself for the incoming attacks.
Attack: 23 Damage: 14 (1 from fire)
If it hits, add +4 to damage with Inspiration
AC is 19 if these are evil critters, 17 if not.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
The spiders attack as you attack them. Caesar is bit by two of them making him angry as Rachel and him take out a spider. Jonathan is able to kill another as is Grant and Jason. Herschel and Thalica hit the same one killing it. Vickie's shot goes wide. More spiders move up to take the place of the ones killed. Thus ends this round.

Slightly and perversely annoyed that these creatures are not actually a significant challenge, I swivel and move to strike the next spider. "Almost done here. Anyone need help?"
Great Sword Attack: 25 Damage: 18 (Add flanking bonus if it's attacking someone else. Last 1 point from fire)
If it hits, add +4 to damage with Inspiration. (2 used out of 4)

Seeing one try to go thru the pass between me and Grant, I nudge Maximus to face right so he might get to kick it, but I overextend the maneuver and don't get a good angle to swing back myself at it. Still, I try my best to keep it's attention on me instead of Maximus or those behind us.
As the attacks continue you hear and then see the dwarves coming in to assist. A spider bites down hard on Caesar causing him to yell out as he grabs it in both hands and rips it asunder. Jonathan moves to try and get the one sneaking by but as he extends over and swings he over balanced himself and soon finds himself flat on his back after a jarring fall. Stunned for this one melee round from the fall. Rachel and Vickie work together on another spider killing it. Grant kills one as does Thalica and Jason. Herschel hurts one but the dwarves helps kill it off as well as a couple more. Soon there are scattered parts of dead spiders laying about and a armored man laying on his back as his horse looks down at him with what looks to be a smirk on its face.
I lower the crossbow after a few tense moments making sure none others were coming, "Any serious injuries? Rachel, is the venom from these species deadly?"
When I get a chance after making sure everyone is all right, I'll address the strangers. "Greetings, that was a hairy bit of fun. My name is Jason, what brings you to these parts?"
"Laugh it up fuzzball," I tell Maximus in my best Harrison Ford impression. I place my hands on the reigns but don't pull on them as I get back up. Once again impressed that the horse was steady in the face of over a dozen spiders easily his size and pull out a carrot. "You did good," I say wanting to pay attention to the steed, but redirecting my ears and my feet to be apart of the introduction with the group of dwarves.
I shake off the last of the crisped spider blood, the Bladefire flickering out as it consumes the ichor. "Not calling trouble, but that was easier than I expected, facing a gang of massive arachnids. Their scale was scary, but their ability was...subdued." Suspicious, I move over to my horse and check her out, collect and put away my bow, then join the group with the pursued dwarves and halfling, great sword sheathed on my back as usual.

As the spider crumbles I glance for another foe. Seeing none, I look to the others. Seeing no mortal or fatal wounds I’ll move over to the pally on his back. Hearing the Star Wars line I’ll give my best impression of Chewy’s throaty grumble. As he gains his feet without assistance, I’ll clean the battle splat from my face and weapons. Pulling an oiled cloth, Ill wipe the swords as well before sheathing them, then walking the perimeter. If I find deaders with intact arrows or bolts, I’ll pull what I can and bring them back to where the group is.
Rachel is tending to Caesar and tells you that yes the spiders bites are mildly poisonous but not harsh enough to take out Caesar. She then mumbles softly to him as she rests her palms on the wounds first causing a clear liquid to flow out of the wounds then the wounds closing up. Once she is done she turns to the rest of you to see if any need any healing.
As Jason addresses the dwarves they regroup in a formation of sorts and then help the exhausted halfing over to their area. "We came over the sea to see if we could find some new pockets of gems and precious metals since rumor had it that this area was more safe. We can see that it is not necessarily true and we thank you for you timely arrival. We are naught but miners not warriors but a couple of spiders do not bother us. But when you kill a couple and that alerts a bigger nest well that means get the heck out of there."
