“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar

Rivoril, continues down the corridor alert as he ever will be for danger in the form of traps and/or creatures. He moves stealthily, while searching trying to both spot and listen for danger up ahead. He has low-light vision so would be relying on Bastion behind him to alert him if it is beyond his scope of vision.
Whispering to Kat, "Actually there is a spell I know of, I have just never used it but if you want me to prepare it when we stop next time I can make it ready for you. It turns your eyes black and you can see through magical darkness but it not necessarily an evil spell so I have no issues with casting it."

"That could be useful," Avan interjects, "If we could all get the benefit or if some of us could still fight in the dark. I had a magic blindfold which used to let me sense everything round me, but it was stolen.
"Instead, may I suggest that I could prepare a spell tomorrow that will pierce the dark with the brightness of the sun. I'll have to call on spirits and natural forces I'm unfamiliar with, hopefully they will not be hostile to me.
"Oh, and the wand's activation word is Abumith. The shopkeeper was saying something about it being from some dead language. It's probably just their word for 'heal'."
Avan leads, this time beside Rivoril as the cave width allows for it. "Let's just use my light spell," he says, holding the shining arrow before them. "We are the group's eyes and ears, so we have to see clearly. It may not be the stealthiest approach, but we have enough people here to face any foe."
The Jackal is still at the rear, sniffing the air for danger.
You follow the larger corridor down about 90 feet when you see a large gate ahead of you. It opens towards you and it does not appear to be locked and you can see arrow slits in it. This appears to be an area that can be well defended from the other side of it.
Rivoril, heads on over to the large doors without opening them. He takes a peak through the arrow slit holes to see whats on the other side of the doors.
"Only a few minutes, and yes, only for one person at a time, but we will only need it if we come across the unnatural darkness. And if needed, I can dump it into a heal if we do not come across any. I like to have options." She says matter of factly.
Bastion moves up to the door as quietly as he can manage as well. If it looks like the door is secured with a bar or some similar mechanism, he'll try to see if there's a way to see through somehow, so that he might teleport to the other side and open the thing.
As you get to the large door you will find that it is locked from the other side and there is no key hole so that means that it is probably barred from the other side. The Arrow slits seem to be covered on the inside some wood. Made a shutter to close them off when not in use. Other than that seems a rather sturdy large door. Looking at the bottom of the door there is a small gap that you can see that inside is lit by what may be some torches the way the light is flickering but not many of them. It is a larger area than the hallway and there appears to be some feet that you can see moving about.
Kix softly speaks up "Do you think a fireball would do well, inside that room? The gap seems wide enough for a wand, doesn't it?" He remarks with a uncommon grin on his teifling face.

Bastion nods, but holds up a finger. Waving to the others, he motions for people to move closer to the door and out of view of the arrow slits. Then he will indicate for Kix to open fire.
He will keep an eye out under the door. It might take a few fireballs, but he suspects that any survivors will retreat. As soon as it looks clear, he will call for the wizard to cease fire, then teleport to the other side and immediately work to remove the door bar.
As quietly as he can, Kixarn leans down, looks underneath and slips the lethal end of the wand into the door base without protruding out the other side. Angling it up as much as he can, he quietly speaks the activation word three times, launching the fiery pellets into the room, changing the angle left to right slightly each time, and having them detonate 20 feet on the other side. As the ensuing explosions occur, he hopes no one other than enemies are engulfed in the flames.

When Kixarn attempts to slide the wand under the door he will find that due to the the thickness of the door that he can not angle the wand up so any fireballs will just go straight along the floor to the other wall. After the first fireball the room appears clear. Bastion would have seen the legs moving to the sides where he can no longer see them.
Bastion winces as the opponents apparently have more room to avoid spellfire than assumed. He says to the others quietly, "Right, looks like most of them managed to escape the blast. I can teleport to the other side easily enough, but then they'll just hit me from both sides while I'm trying to unbar the door. I would rather not just assume I'll survive for long enough. Ideas?"
While they're deliberating, Bastion moves up to the door and calls out, "You told us your mistress wanted to see us. Whether or not that happens, it will be on our terms not hers. But if she has a message for us, now's your chance to pass it along."
Rivoril, turns to face Bastion. "I also have an 'anklet' of transportation if that will help? and can teleport with you. But would need someone to cover me. If I were to attempt to unbar the door. If there were any other locking mechanisms that we are unaware I would try and pick them also," He said.
"Other, than that I will get out my trusty composite longbow now and wait for them to come barging through,"? Rivoril says, while crouching and loading up his bow.
"I can summon in support from this side," Avan adds. "It will be a bit uncomfortable and I'll start the combat on the ground, but if you let me finish the spell first, I can get up before you open up."
"Would you prefer an earth elemental that I can command in its language, or a wild animal like a bear? Or stronger creatures by casting a more potent spell like a Dire Wolf or a fiery Thoqqa if we're expecting trolls?"
"We can also take a little time to buff up myself and my Jackal before we start, or I can save it up for fighting the lady."
Kix's eyes get wide as he hears all this casual mention of major magics, with items, spells and abilities he's never encountered before. He backs away from the door, wand still held tightly and at least glad he could contribute a little to the forces he finds himself allied with.

Katharina steps up to the group by the door. She looks at Bastion. " I can teleport to the other side of the door as well. You and I can go in to cover for him, " She nods at Rivoril. " Avan can summon in help for us. We should be able to hold on long enough for him to unbar the door and allow the others to join us. "
Watching carefully in the false color of his darkvision, Kixarn adds his own eyes and that of his familiar to the groups careful progress.

Katharina smiles at Ghanima and whispers back, " That sounds great How long does it last?" Will it only affect one person?"
She tenses up as she sees the arrow slits up ahead. Katharina moves quickly to the doors and beside the arrow slits. She listens through the door.
