Iris kneels examining the crystal taking each piece and looking over it closely. She then looks up and investigates the room seemingly looking for something specific. She stands to her feet and ponders a moment still clutching one of the crystals and says, “This crystal seems to have been imbued with a spell of great magical power. It appears that Neltharion was able to cast a portion of himself into this crystal that with enough power create an avatar of himself. This avatar would not be nearly as powerful but would still be quite potent, which from the looks of it you all found out. From what you say of your encounter, I believe the spells cast by yourselves or the necromantic damage you sustained empowered the crystal enough to generate this avatar of Neltharion. Whatever the spell he enchanted this crystal with, it is no longer active. There is no trace of magic left in this Ruby.”
Aryn- though you search the room you don’t really find much of anything left except for a charred and mangled pile of molten slag in the southeast corner. The metal is still quite hot and you have to use the arcsword to tilt it slightly. Looking at the underside you see within the smoldering mangled puddle what appears to be melted gold and gemstones encased in the solidified mass. you presume this once was a chest of valuable items that has been reduced to a molten heap.
Everyone else- you rack your minds over the name Onyxia but can’t seem to place it. You’ve all heard tales of red dragons of varying sizes assed down through the ages but can’t recall and mention of one bearing such a name.
Aryn will take out her water skin and pour the water over the hot metal and cast Shape Water freezing the water to rapidly cool it off. Then she'll attempt to lift it and put it in her bag for later. If she can't manage it alone she'll ask Valeera for help and have her break it up into smaller pieces.
Iris turns to Jinara and Gaelin thinking for a moment, "No. This crystal was imbued before his banishment. Which..." she pauses as a new thought comes to mind. "If the crystal was imbued before his banishment and the dragon was wreathed in shadow as you described, then Neltharion must've already visited the Shadowfell plane beforehand. Perhaps that is the cause of his intense corruption and power compared to other chromatic dragons. It's just a theory, but it would explain some of the stranger aspects of what took place." As she speaks you hear a sizzling sound from the corner of the chamber as Aryn pours water and ice onto the hot metal.
Aryn- The ice melts and is initially flash vaporized but soon steams and boils then after about 30 seconds seems to maintain being frozen. The 2 foot by 1 foot conglomerate lies on the ground encased in ice. You unfreeze the water and go to lift the metal mass and find it to be quite heavy and cumbersome. The edges are thin and have some sharp points where the once molten metal branched out like little fingers. You call Valeera over who's interest is immediately peaked by the various gleams of assorted metals. She seems to sniff the mass and says, "Iron, Gold.... silver, and platinum... a very nice find indeed." she effortlessly picks up the mass and twirls it in her clawed hands. Her eyes sparkle with the delight at the glint of gemstones within. "What shall we do with such a find? Would you like me to melt it down again?" she asks
"We should definitally take it with us. I imagine some good could be done with that treasure. That is, after you get your more than fair share Valeera." Mucor adds with a grin.
Jinara will go over to the closest piece and collect it not even worrying about the steam coming from the corner. He will find a place for it in his robe, then turns to watch Aryn and Valeera.
"Whatever the group thinks is best. I think we should return to the castle before melting it down again, but once there we can investigate what this chunk actually contains." Aryn replies more curious than greedy.
Gaelin will assist Jinara in collecting the fragments of crystal and suggest, "Perhaps we should return to Castle Daybreak for a bit. We can melt down whatever that is with Valeera and the blacksmith's help and see what we're dealing with." he points to the big hunk of metal then turns to Jinara and Torq. "After that I'd like to assist Torq with a quick trip and then head to Sonas to see what records the dragonborn capital has in it's vaults. Given everything that we've learned and experienced thus far I feel like our studies in Sonas may take a while. If you want to go ahead with Iris I can create a circle to get you there. If that's alright with you both?"
"I don't want to take away from the group, but if Jinara is alright with that I should need but a few hours... probably less." Torq replies. He looks back to the twins then to Iris, "So this, avatar? it wasn't a real thing right? It was just a magical thing? When I hit it it felt hollow. I don't know how to describe it but it didn't feel right."
(No worries, this week was definitely a tough one.)
Iris, Gaelin and Jinara gather the shards of the ruby then Iris begins drawing runes on the stone floor. "Once it's done everyone rush in quickly." she says as she etches each rune with smooth delicate strokes of chalk. She finishes the incantation and the runes all glow bright with arcane power. You step into the circle and appear back at Castle Daybreak a little banged up but still ready to face the day. As you step out onto the keep you see the sun sitting at the top of the sky signaling mid day. You each take a moment to check over yourselves and receive a visit from the acolytes and priests who heal your wounds. You all part ways and collect into small groups. Iris and Jinara head up to the tower for a few minutes of research and note taking while the rest of the group all head towards the blacksmith hefting the large hunk of metal.

At the blacksmith you place the metallic mass on the largest anvil and instruct them to do their best to separate the metals. The three blacksmiths each take a turn investigating the mass and discuss ideas of how best to accomplish the difficult task with Valeera's assistance. The three end up agreeing and inform you that they should be able to complete the task in 24-48 hours. Valeera nods and kisses Gaelin as teh group exits the forge and she stays behind. The last glimpse you see is a small jet of flame from her human lips heating the forge.
(Who is accompanying Torq and Gaelin? Does anyone want to accompany Iris and Jinara? Mucor, do you want to converse with your mother some more? The day is yours.)
Yeah.. Mucor would want to talk with his mom and also check on his old pal and see about letting what's her names's dad know that she is safe and sound.
I dont know if I'll have enough time to RP it till monday probably but I will try to find time.
After returning to to Daybreak, Mucor would let out a deep sigh before looking up towards the sun. As he companions move to take care of their own business. After taking a deep breath through the nose he'd head off in search of either his mother or Quientin.. whichever one he happened to find first.
"You can stay if you like. You have helped me through so much that I don't want you to fee like you have to. If you'd rather relax and enjoy the nice sunny day, I would understand." Mucor would reply to Aryn with a smile before moving to give her a hug.
Torq thanks Gaelin and Jinara then turns to the twins. "I'd like to go alone, just Gaelin and myself. I hope you understand. Gaelin is only accompanying me to expedite the travel. I believe Herbert will be able to transport us to the location and Gaelin will get me back. We should only be gone for a few hours probably less."
"I just want to make sure you're okay. While I enjoy spending time with you it might be better for you to spend some time alone with your mom. I don't want to make things more awkward. There will be plenty of time to for us to talk about everything but you've missed out on years without having your parents. I was thinking about going to assist Jinara and Iris with their research and return if you need me. If you want me here though I will stay." she says placing her hand on his cheek and locking eyes with him.

"Can you tell if this was some type of anchor or lock keeping him from returning to this plane?" Jinara asks as he turns his attention to Iris.
(well dang.)
Gaelin looks between Jinara and Iris. "What he said."

(Sorry guys. Rough week)
” that is fine. My past seems to be trying to kill us regularly. A little research will be a nice break.”
