Yera looks down, avoiding his gaze though she still smiles wide. "I appriciate your care, I really do. I just," The halfling meets Mucor's gaze for a moment before turning away, "I need to think about a few things"
"Ok..." Mucor would say, rising to his feat with a loud creak as the bed lets out a sigh of relief. The minotaur would then make his way to the door, opening it and stepping halfway through before looking back as though to say something but then leaving without another word. Mucor then goes to his room and goes to bed.
Gabriel returns the dagger to his belt and strides over to the veterans, taking an unoccupied seat at the table. "Well met, friends. I can tell by your callused hands and grey hairs that you are no strangers to battle. "
Mucor and Yera: As sleep makes its way to each of you, all have a similar dream. You are standing in a street, a burning building directly in front of you stands partially collapsed as a flaming pile of rock hurtles over your head and slams into an adjacent building. Smoke and ash cloud your vision. It is eerily silent, there are no sounds of screaming, no impacts from the siege weapons or burning buildings. The smoke chokes your lungs and the heat from the fire intensifies.
A voice unknown to you calls out to you from within your head in a manner that feels as though the person is within you and all around you. "You insignificant fools, you will all be turned to ash. None can defy the will of Vaeril." You feel the heat intensify before your vision flashes white. As your vision clears the once burning town now lies in white ashes. Charred bones and rubble are all that remain of the town. You looks around and can see each of your companions standing nearby. As you take in your surroundings you feel a strong cool breeze that picks up the ashes and creates a cloud of white.
As the cloudy haze of ash turns to smoke and evaporates the town reappears unharmed but empty. You are standing in the circular court in front of town hall at Riverwood. In the middle of the circular pathway standing in front of the large fountain is Gillithe. (Yera's Deity) The beautiful half elven woman stands clothed in a flowing gown of blue with green and white trimming. A bright glowing aura hides the features of her face beneath the hooded gown. As the glow subsides the soft light skin, pink lips and vibrant green eyes come into view. She scowls and swirls and enlarges the water that floats above her palm into the giant shape of the continents of Eraas. Turning to meet each of your gazes she speaks in a calm and smooth tone that seems to be amplified. As the words leave her mouth you hear her voice echo in your mind, "The story of Eraas is being written but it's ending is not yet decided. Before you lies a challenge that controls the fate of Eraas. Find this servant of Vaeril and bring his sorcery to an end." Her scowl softens into a smile as she turns to Yera. "You are capable of great things my child. Continue on your path and peace will come to you."
Gabriel: "No stranger indeed." says a burly male dwarf with a salt and pepper beard. A large scar on his left cheek shines red and pink showing it is a fairly new scar.
A human male, clad in half plate armor chimes in, "Good work y'all did up in the mountains. I know these townsfolk are quite appreciative of it as are we. Those bastards have been sneaking past our lines for months now trying to cut off our supply routes. If they managed to cut-off Riverwood we'd be pushed back an additional 20 miles."
"So how many of them black bloods did you kill?" says the dwarf.
(Proceeding very cautiously, but will be proceeding if y'all want to. I know I want to. I reached out to Traveler today and hopefully we will only be down Onyx and Grunting. With 4 we can continue without a hitch, with only 3 i may try to recruit a 4th and/or 5th to bolster the group unless y'all are opposed. Either way I'm fine and can adjust accordingly.)
(I am fine either way. I mean with the group we have (a druid, cleric, and paladin) we have most the bases covered as far as what we can accomplish but I would love to see Traveler return.)
Gabriel: The dwarf grins and says " Atta boy" and slaps you on the shoulder. "Your group would be of much more use to us then these green thumbs" pointing to the young soldiers drinking and laughing across the tavern.
"Where ya headed to next?" the human asks
Yera and Mucor: Gillethe looks away and the globules of water fall back into the fountain. Turning back to your group, "Rest now my children and know that your trials and efforts are not in vain." The glow around her hood and body returns as she slowly rises from the ground. Silvery white wings appear from behind her as she continues to rise in the air. A flash of light and she disappears into the heavens leaving only a faint beam of light behind for only a moment before fading away.
You each awaken from your dreams, the night still very young and take a moment to contemplate what you just experienced.
(The time is now 9:00 as the moon hangs in the sky)
Sitting at the same table as the dwarven man Gabriel, was an unfamiliar face. A young tiefling woman with violet skin sat there, nursing a mug of ale as she eyed these folks with obvious curiousity. She was a short, wiry woman, although the soft edges to her features betrayed her youth. Her lavender hair hung down about her chin in thick frizzy waves, framing her pointed face carefully. Nestled in her hair, her horns curled forward and outwards, like a pair of ram's horns, though decorated with several simple golden ornaments. She watched them with her narrow orange eyes, not quite luminescent, but catching the light in a way that almost made it seem so. She was dressed in a simple green and white tunic, with dark slacks and tall heavy boots, with a simple yet empty scabbard hanging from her belt. A calico cat lay curled in her lap, it's eyes contentedly shut as she stroked it. Resting folded across her back was a pair of violet wings, shifting now and then, betraying an impatience to be moving rather than simply just sitting about.
(Hello everyone! I'm incredibly excited to start rping with you, this campaign looks excellent!)
(So it is 9 pm, are Gabriel and the new tiefling still downstairs in the tavern or did they leave? I don't want to assume that they were hanging out down there the whole time if they were going to do other stuff while Yera and Mucor slept.)

(@DM, it looks like two members of the party are no longer with us. How are you planning on proceeding?)

(I kicked eremis (onyx) out of one of my games I am DM'ing because he has been gone without notice for weeks now.)
(No campaign has escaped without Holiday casualties. :P)

(People come and go, I guess)
artemisdebunked is in a couple games with me and she seems pretty cool and is active a lot.
(That would be a welcome addition.)
