The corpse is rotten. It smells disgusting, and even though the puffs of wind carry the smell and the flies in a different direction, it is still a gut wrenching scene. He is missing both his legs and with a little checking around it seems that there are some drag marks towards the water's edge. When you get close, you see the legs finely sliced and with some herbs bound to them lying in the water. Next to them, there are a variety of small animal corpses prepared the same way. Lily thinks, the kobolds may keep their meat to pickle in the water before eating.
It is pretty clear to Mokrai and Lily that this must be the camp of the adventurer 'Tholm'. There is nothing of value to be found around the leftovers of the campsite.
While Oleksi wants to rush right through the thickest of the undergrowth, Mokrai holds him back and points to a view different little paths that most probably all lead you towards the crack in the rock.
Only Lily fits well through the paths, the others of you arrive in front of the cave a little scratched and battered from the thorny bushes. The entry is about 10 ft away from you, it is getting dark outside and there is absolutely no light coming from the cave. There are however some noises that you can hear every now and then. Some chittering or whispering, little foot steps, some of which your minds want to associate to the animals of the night that start coming out to feed on the corpse.
"Oh! That's a huge-ass badger! Oleksi has skills. Ooh, look, let me help too. I learned this one a couple weeks ago when I fell in a hole, and it was super dark."
Blake takes his quarterstaff in his right hand and slams the butt of the staff into the ground. A ball of purple light pops out of the pink crystal at the top of the staff. He repeats the process three more times, creating a total of four lights that swirl around the top of the staff. "Also, if you all ever wanna have a kickin' dance party, they can do this."Blake begins to move his feet quickly in place, and uttering a low "Untz Untz Untz" through his closed mouth. The lights flash a rainbow of colors and move to twirl around him as he dances. He stops after a few seconds, a huge grin on his face. The dancing lights move back to spin slowly around the quarterstaff once more, reverting to their muted pink and purple hues.
"I like your magic lights, sorcerer." says Mokrai with a genuine smile. "But let's try to be a bit less obvious. Try not to shine light on us. Can you dim the lights?"
"I like your magic lights, sorcerer." says Mokrai with a genuine smile. "But let's try to be a bit less obvious. Try not to shine light on us. Can you dim the lights?"
"Yeah, totally. I can make them fly a little behind us too, so the light doesn't reach so far up." The lights swirling around the quaterstaff dim to a low blue color, and then fan out, trailing behind the party, casting only small amount of light into the cave. Blake is ready to explore.
The badger sniffs the air, then walks forwards briskly. But Mokrai calls him back.
"Wait, I see something!" Something close to the floor reflects one of Blake's dancing lights.
Mokrai bends down and identifies a tripwire strung across the entrance of the cave. He shows it to everyone and makes sure everyone steps over it without touching it.
The party advances. Mokrai and the badger ahead, followed by Blake and Lily, with SilverTongue the last. The party feels watched, and is not sure what to expect. They can hear whispering chittering, rushed footsteps and scraping that seems to come from behind the walls and just around corners.
Mokrai manages to be reasonably stealthy, probably because he can see better with his darkvision. But Oleksi, not used to the keen smell of the badger, struggles in the warm and humid air. Rotting straw and vegetation as well as fetid water cover the floor. It stinks and Oleksi's sensitive nose sneezes repeatedly to get rid of the stink.
A little further back the Blake is playing with his lights, just a little. He's having a solo dance party. Quiet, but he can't help himself. They're called dancing lights after all.
The party is not sure where Lily went. The little rouge is in her element and has almost vanished against the dark rock.
You advance and turn a corner.
Three kobolds were just playing with a giant weasel. They have obviously heard you coming - and are just jumping up and trying to run away.
Bobbing his head up and down, SilverTongue enjoys the light show and Blake's beat. Limbering his fingers to add some music with his lyre, he spots the Kobolds as they turn the corner and rolls his eyes.
"Well, I guess I know what smelled so bad to make Mokrai sneeze. Let's add some color to the light show."
Uttering some words in Draconic, a purple hue started glowing from everything near the Kobolds.
OOC: Casting Faerie Fire on the remaining Kobolds and weasel if possible. DEX save of 13 or attacks against them get advantage for the next minute.
DEX save Kobold B 10 and Kobold C 20 and Giant Weasel 20
The kobolds see SilverTongue coming from a mile away. They quickly understand that he is about to cast a spell and duck out of the way of the light flying towards them. The weasel instead looks straight into it and starts glowing in a purple shimmer.
The two kobolds see their ally fall under the hands of a shadow, and retreat even quicker, scurrying into the tunnel on the other side of the room. From where you stand, only Oleksi can see one of the fleeing kobolds.
[OCC: Sorry everyone, I got the distances wrong. In this instance one square is 10ft - so I adjusted the distance the kobolds were able to run away. I'll allow Lily's attack, because the distance was my mistake. But from now on please remember it's 10 ft. ]
Lily tried at best to keep pace with her companions.
"It's always easier with long legs, or four!"
she laughed and supported by the song of silver, resumed the chorus with him with a High pitch voice.
"aaawim bawe awimmmbaweee"
as the group stopped to observe the landscape, she scanned the horizon for the swamp to spot possible suspicious activity, or potential enemies.

She nodded at Blake. Yes, pretty dead she thought.
While Lily is checking the body for clues, Mokrai is looking around.

Oleksi recite a prayer, at the end of which he turns himself into a giant badger
