"One incapacitation, coming right up." Elber whispers before he draws and nocks an arrow, evidently ready to display his skill as an archer unless stopped.
((Elber has sharpshooter and ignores cover, so the intent with your approval is using the advantage of being unseen to nail his right hand to the table by means of an arrow to make him unwilling/unable to fight (and maybe even disturb somatic spellcasting), but still healable even if he turns out to have no hp to speak of (unlike a headshot).))
(@Twooshort, go for it. You have advantage on the attack. I am going to set the DC for this trick shot at 20; in other words, if you beat the alchemists AC you hit him, but you only hit him in the hand with a roll of 20 or higher.)
((I'm a big fan of just doing what your character would do. ie just launch the arrow if Elber would do it. Also though .. he isn't a threat, which is why Duncan wants to just call out to him.))
((Just do it. Either one. Charm or arrow. If Duncan were to call out it would have been earlier. Now he understands the importance of the stealth the group is trying to accomplish))

Jack looks at Elber, sees him aiming and puts his hand on his bow shaking his head. He points at himself, points at Elber and does the two finger pointing down walking thing. He then mimes a bear hug. He turns to the others and holds up his index finger to his mouth. And starts to stalk in quietly behind the man.
Stealth: 25
If Elber makes a noise, Jack will rush the man, and attempt to grapple. If he is quiet enough as well, I would say Elber rolls a grapple w advantage? (Correct me if needed JJ)

Elber nods and stalks forward with Jack to grab the man while he remains unaware. (Stealth 21, Athletics 20)
((Oof, less good stealth. But Jacks interruption was perfectly ok, that's why Elber so clearly telegraphed his move, so the party had the the option of stopping him.))

Watching both go in for the grapple, Duncan will step in to the room, following immediately after his companions. "Sir, we've sorry to surprise you like this... The door was unlocked DECEPTION: 14and we'd had reports of danger in the neighborhood. Is everything ok here?"

The alchemist, intent on his work, does not hear Elber's approach. He yelps in surprise as the mighty barbarian envelops him in a bear hug and attempts to extricate himself from the man's corded muscles. Acrobatics: 9
Elber holds him fast. "What? What! This is a criminal offense, I'll- I'll call the town guard on you, I'll - you won't get away with this!" He blusters.
Jack comes around to the front of the man after Elber has him in a bear hug. He puts the tip of his rapier at his throat and says in a hushed whisper “Not a sound. We are not murderers, please do not give me a reason to change into one.”
Intimidation: 7
He speaks to those behind him, “Someone gag and tie him so we can find out what is going on here.”

As everyone makes their moves, Landrae will follow into the room and step out from behind Duncan with her bow raised and aim it towards the other door as soon as she can sight it. Landrae will follow on from Duncan's words immediately, "Sir, that looks like Fosa!" Turning her gaze towards the man who is either tussling with Jack and Elber, or who has been successfully restrained, "Please do not struggle, Captain Alais herself spoke to us before this commission and advised she wanted no trouble, if you are of a mind to be civil we have no current reason to harm you, but have a few questions we must ask of you?"
Edit: Based on this man's last comment which I hadn't seen when posting, Landrae adds, "What child do you speak of down here?"
Persuasion: 24
((I'm taking the chance based on the painting we saw, that this is Fosa, Landrae is just using a bit of guesswork and hoping to bluff through. @ JJ, I went with persuasion since I'm not lying in any of what I said... just twisting it, a bit, let me know if you want a different roll - deception:8))

Jack wipes the spit off his face with his free hand, with a look of anger none of you have seen. Was it the spit or the called bluff? Maybe both. He pushes his blade just a bit more into his throat without piercing skin and takes a step back so Landrae can speak with the old fool.
He will look around the room to better take in his surroundings (weapons laying about, padlock on other door, anything else of note) Perception: 18
The alchemist does not lose his ghastly grin. His eyes burn with insanity and he chuckles with glee. "Hee hee hee... My children are at play." He says, indicating the iron door on the far wall. "Join them." His laughter dissolves into wracking coughs, but he dontinues to grin like a maniac.
Jack scans the room and finds that the iron door is chained shut from the outside. He also notices a strange circle carved in the floor and ringed by melted candles.

"Why don't you go see for yourself?" The alchemist chuckles, saliva running down his chin.
