"Fair enough. I be well supplied enough to hunt, but for hunting men I could do with a stronger bow. Lend me a bow the length of my body and I can drop a man well beyond two hundred paces."
Kai: "Is there perhaps someone who might be able to give us more information on the environs from which this Scorpion operates? Any guesses as to where his camp might be? Any map of the area? Also, are their other dangers in the environs?"
"I believe," Elron coughs, "That our agreement was to my goods only. The resources stolen from the town of Thithladroth are neither mine to dispense nor to lay any claim to. Though matters have been somewhat complicated, our previous agreement stands."
Ardidd snaps her fingers and the maid returns to remove the tea cups. "You have nothing to fear save the odd orc or goblin. Most wildlife, hostile or otherwise, have been scared out of the area by the bandits. Gear and weapons may be found at the town armory. My butler will accompany you there, bearing my seal, which will grant you access to any equipment you might have need of."
"Then no dangers that we are not well used to. On that note, I believe that our meeting should draw to a close." Landrae leaves the sentence hanging slightly, and looks at her companions to see if they had anything else they wished to add, "If you are able to spare your butler, and the armory would be open to our needs, then we shall make our way there presently. However, should you wish to retain his services here for the evening, we can call back on the morrow."
“We look forward to this being a successful business arrangement for both parties.” Jack says with a courteous smile. “Thank you for the tea and the opportunity to show we are better than your first impression of us.” He turns and starts heading for the door.
Duncan will nod and start to leave, following the butler, towards the armory. There he will look for some Splint armor if it's available. He'd also like some Javelins, and some rope to bind them into a type of sling in order to strap them to himself. If there are any potions or anything else interesting please let us know~
Jack will look for some studded leather armor, 20 more arrows, a bullseye lantern, 3 flasks of oil, 2 sets of manacles, 10 iron spikes, and enough rations for the round trip.
((A potion of healing would be nice, but not sure what our budget is or if it’s available to purchase.))
((Never mind, I thought we were going shopping, nix the potion. But if other items are available...))
Kai considers more armor, but shakes his head. Instead he searches out a small buckler he can attach to his pack, and something he can use to attack at range, throwing knives, darts, etc. He does search for extra extra herbal kits.
Ardidd waits for the others to leave before laying a pale hand on Landrae's arm. "I wish you luck in your endeavour." She says, and there is respect in her eyes. Then she snaps her fingers and the butler ushers you out of the room. The last Landrae sees before she exits is Lady Ardidd rubbing her eyes tiredly. "And I still have a dinner party to attend." She mutters to herself.
The town armory is situated near the Thithladroth watch barracks, and you sight the guard who accompanied you to the alchemists laboratory. He is currently conducting a heated argument which seems to feature demons as the primary subject. The guard lounging outside the armory inspects the butlers seal and then nods you through into a small but adequate storgae room crammed with basic weapons and equipment.
Jack, Duncan, Kai and Elber dig through the mess and extract the weapons and equipment they are looking for. There are no herbalism kits or potions to be found, however.
(Landrae, what are you looking for in particular?)
Landrae nods her thanks to the Lady before departing. A somewhat different opinion of Ardidd in her mind as she walks away, compared to their first impression. She quickly catches up with her boys and accompanies them into the armory.
As they pass the arguing guard, Landrae stifles a small chuckle, surreptitiously she looks for any other guards around, and tries to identify if there is a point that only the guard from Fosa's would be able to see. If it seems like there is, she casts Minor Illusion and creates the image of a shadowed Mane in that spot; as soon as the guard noticed it, she will dismiss the image.
Landrae catches the butler's attention once they have been admitted to the armory, and quickly explains their intent with laying a trap using the cart and empty containers. She will ask whether the butler could arrange for such items, a suitable covering, and a horse of calm temperament to pull the cart, to be brought to the inn for them to set out on at first light.
The only item that Landrae cares to find is some studded leather, hopefully with a suitable cut for her figure. Though she appreciates the longbow Elber is eyeing up, she knows that she needs more practice with it before she can warrant using it in combat. A final browse to see if there are any rapiers or daggers that appear to be more elaborately decorated than hers, but ultimately that is just to match her own flamboyance than to improve and function.
"Shall we return to the inn then boys? A good night's rest and early start would be much to my liking right now."
Kai nods his agreement with Landrea, "I would like the chance to meditate as well as prepare such magical means as would be most helpful in the forest environs."
After equipping himself Duncan will say "Let us rest. Tomorrow will be a long day. Should be a fun test eh Elber?" smiling to his new friend. "I look forward to showing this Scorpion my steel."
Once outside the armory, Jack gives his companions a nervous smile. “I am not looking forward to a direct confrontation. I can handle a blade well enough, but I’ve spent my life trying to blend in and not draw attention to myself. I’m not the warrior that Duncan and Elber are, going toe to toe with anything in my way. I don’t have magic like Kai and Landrae. I’m a bit nervous that this will go sideways and I don’t want to be the cause of any of you getting hurt. We haven’t known each other long, but know this...you all are now my friends and I will fight like a crazed badger for any of you. This I promise.”
Elber clasps Jack's shoulder with a strong hand. "The blade one does not see be no weaker than the blade that breaks through. You will do yourself proud."
Nodding in agreement with Elber's words, Duncan will add "If I have learned nothing, is that even the strongest, most well equipped, need support. Everyone in our group has their own specialty. I'll be glad to have you assisting where you can friend."
"Aye, Elber has the right of it. Oft, the last seen blade is the blade seen last. We haven't had much practice fighting as a group, but I fear that I shall have to spend some time locked away writing sonnets of our great victories, the epic endeavours of Elber, Duncan's daring deeds, Jack's jovial jeopardies, and Kai's keen err... I'll get back to you on that one!" A faint blush touches Landrae's cheeks, though barely perceptible, it causes her a moment's pause.

Elber nods approvingly to Elron's clarification on the boundaries of his agreement, and then bows to lady Ardidd in thanks to her offer.

Elber only has need of a longbow, and borrows nothing else from the armory.
