Ruggero, after much day dreaming about his home, snaps to when he hears the swish of the blades. He readies and wait to see what in the hell did Kelvin trigger. He tightens his grip on his battle axe and gets ready for the worse to come.

Kelvin made an attempt to avoid the swinging blade, but not as nimble on his feet as some of his stealthier companions, his shins took a bit of a nick, tearing some of his cloak. Deciding to quit while he was ahead, he reluctantly followed the rest of the group back inside.
You take 1 damage as a result. Curious you may be, but try to stay alive, my friend.

"Ahh! Sodding--Gods--damnit!" Kelvin sucks air through his teeth, wincing at his wounds. "Frozen hells..Alright! Curiosity killed the cockatrice, no more prodding!" The young dragon sorcerer contents to letting one of the tankier or stealthier party members take the lead.
Again, another suspicious DM question. If you are heading upstairs, which stairs are we taking? The ones in the front hall, which are closer or the ones back in the kitchen?

The veranda proves to be another dead end. Not something Viayais particularly surprised or upset by. The elf allowing her companions to do most of the leg work once they discover the exterior pathway protected by the trapped statues. They've found the mostly likely source of Vall's ailment already, her bag contains a possible cure. The rest of their exploration is window dressing. Unless Kelvingets himself killed that is. The she elf glowers at the sorcerer disapprovingly as henearly winds up scythed but bites her tongue as they head back inside. She's said her piece to him already regarding his impulsiveness. Nothing said hehad to listen to her. If he'sdecided to learn his lesson the hard way, so be it. As long as it doesn't effect the rest of them she'll let himbe. Theomakes short work of healing him up regardless and she trails Zakoninside toward the front end staircase. Wondering if both this and the one in the kitchen lead to the same place and what they'll find when they get up there. Approaching, she examines the staircase carefully for any more of those pesky traps they seem to keep stumbling upon.
Investigation: 18
Viaya on the other hand, is not the biggest fan of his devil may care attitude but she'll come around, lol. And I also assumed front stairway. Hope that's alright.

Kelvin gives a sheepish smile as he meets the elf's disapproving gaze. "Nothing explored nothing gained, right? I'm sorry, it's just that when I struck out from Clifnalia I never thought I'd actually be stumbling upon troves of history like this before us. I'll try to cool my curiosity..." The silver-scaled sorcerer finishes, his statement somewhat diminished by his gaze roaming excitedly about the staircase as the party proceeds. What ancient trove could be this worth protecting..?
Perception: 12
I actually really like the growing dynamic that Kelvin is really fresh off the field and some of the wiser party members are exasperated with his impulsivity. Let me know if I'm being problematic; I thought examining the statues would be pretty benign but I got enough DM hints that that was also a lapse of judgement OOC.
Zakon, watching Kelvin and his near miss, simply shakes his head. A few more slices like that will teach the sorcerer to be a bit more cautious, he thinks. Nodding to Viaya, Zakonheads for the front stairs. He notices Viaya eying the stairs and waits, content to let her clear the way. I'm getting lazy and soft, he thinks to himself. Time was, I wouldn't have trusted anyone to clear this but myself. He sighs inwardly. But there is something nice about trusting my companions. They all seem capable, even though there have been a few mishaps. Perhaps we will make it out of here, help cure Vall, and then move along. Zakon has no desire to stick around the area, not with the Valcimonian soldiers present.
Looks like I need to print off more grid paper for the upstairs. In the meantime, this should tide us over.
Viaya:Having the sense to look up the stairs before climbing, you notice not another trap, but a pair of feet standing at the top of the stairs. You follow your gaze to see that this man...elf...or whatever it was before is dressed in faded, torn, white robes. Its skin has rotted and looks shallow as it clings to the bones of the body. Its jaw hangs open and it stares blankly out. You notice that its neck looks like it has been slit, a dark stain smiling across the grey, decaying skin. It doesn't seem to notice you, and it almost seems as though it is standing guard.
For the time being (since it's far away from something), this undead acolyte has the same stats as your run-of-the-mill zombie. We're not rolling initiative yet, since it won't act on any behaviors unless you get within 20ft from it (roughly halfway up the stairs).

“I’d read stories of beings enchanted with undeath, but—“ Kelvin shudders as his holy friend engages the zombie, his silver-scaled hands sparkling and shimmering with a frosty energy that crystalizes the water vapor in the air around them into small flakes.
Zakon, inhaling sharply as he sees the decaying creature, grabs Viaya's arm and tugs her gently back, allowing Theo and Kelvin to move up. Zakon moves to a better spot with a clear line of sight up to the creature. Pulling his bow, he nocks an arrow, ready to let fly.
Ruggero follows Viaya's gaze up the staircase towards the decaying creature. "Well the gods be damned," Ruggero says as he steps forward towards the staircase, but not taking a step upward. Then, before he notices, Theoconjures up a magic attack against the decaying creature. "Aye, so I guess this means we're sending this beast back to the hells where it came from!" Ruggero gets ready to back Theo.

I kinda assumed the stairs in the front hall, but correct me if I'm wrong because Kelvin is content to lick his wounds in the back for now.
