I thought you had to be an aberration, fiend, monstrosity, undead or elemental?
yes that was the initial request and I would still like to stick to this. That being said I will review other creatures that are submitted but you run a higher risk of them being turned away. I was thinking monsters that would live on the same plane as or serve or be enslaved by a demon lord)
(Regarding the ooze. I figure it could shape into a humanoid shape in armor. It couldn't talk but I bet I could communicate w/ body/sign language etc etc. Come on Wreck don't you know actions speak louder than words? :p Also I could fit in a jar pretty easily for safe carrying. I imagine the mobility of the ooze to be much like an octopus or other pseudopod.
**** Somethings to consider when picking your monster**** -Is the monster you are choosing something that is going to be able to equip items? Ooze can equip armor and items but it just can't use metal since it corrodes it. -is the monster you are choosing something that is going to be able to disguise itself under armor / clothes if trying to move through town without scaring the pants off everyone. Roughly -does your monster speak a language or even have a mouth or other ability to communicate? (I am flexible on this but some monsters will still have problems with this) More or less not quite though - Are you going to be able to contribute to the team in meaningful ways outside of combat? The utility of an amorphous slime is quite high. Especially one that has no desire but to heal the injured and right the injustices of the world. PM me your thoughts on the idea, in case we could change it in a way that would better fit the campaign.)
I am pretty flexible so I am I will not say it isn't going to be considered. I think it could be pretty entertaining. I mean there was a https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/the-wretched submitted that is going to have some limitations but could also be pretty cool depending on how it is RP'd. It just depends on how it is played and the make up of the team. :D
(both could happen lol! I would allow barding to be equipped to the wretch :D) (I imagine this dog corpse with the grey ooze tongue reaching out of its mouth to manipulate things.... ewwww....)

He rose from an ancient, forgotten battlefield. For years he kept post on the battlefield attacking any living creature that crossed his sight until Draxx found him. Watching Chatters, Draxx knew he would make a fine addition within his ranks as a reaper. For years Chatters did as he was told with the exception of attempting to kill anything living that crossed his path. You did a good job with the race, it looks like your stats can be better if you want. the way I am doing it is skeletons would get +2dex, +2con, -1 wis, and -3 charisma but you use point buy like normal. If that doesn't make sense we can talk more about it in PM.
You can make your skeleton have a max of 12 charisma that was using point buy, which with a paladin I think might be useful lol :D. If you wanted that is.
Is there any way we can get more languages? For example, from a background?
Sure, some of the possible creatures have more than one by default and it is possible that creatures that were once human may know more than one language. If your ghoul can speak common, elvish, and draconic you may just have to add a line or two in your background explaining how they know the other languages.
I was thinking like background, as in sage. For example, you said we should have some use outside of combat. In the event that someone couldn’t speak a language, my character would be a translator. But his race doesn’t get any languages. So, if I picked the sage background, could I choose languages from that.
Name:Eye Ball (loosely translated from deep speech, of course)
Backstory: Eye Ball was created by a beholder, and is blue with white and red spots around. He has studied to learn a few languages, impressive for his species (deep speech and Common). One day, while searching for knowledge, he came into the clutches of Draax. Now, he noticed the demon didn’t know certain languages as he did. So he offered a deal. Sparing him, and the knowledge of how to cast certain spells, in exchange for a new familiar to translate things! Draax accepted, but took one more thing. Eye’s soul. When Eye touched the relic, his servitude to Draax was broken, but his soul is still in his clutches.
Availability to post: 2 or 3 posts per day Name: Zinnripple Race: Imp Class: Warlock Backstory (summary): Zinnripple was often sent by Draxx to serve as a familiar for evil wizards (a task that Zinnripple despised). This enabled the demon lord to maintain a close watch and significant influence over the particular wizards to whom Zinn was assigned.
Full backstory:
Certain that my wish for wealth and influence would be granted quickly, I made a pact with the demon lord Draxx. I was wholly confident that if I were sufficiently patient, calculating, and clever, I could receive the arcane power granted by Draxx and simultaneously resist being corrupted by him. I would do what I want and get all that I want while being shifty enough to make Draxx think I was truly serving him.
Alas, he recognized my deceit for what it was and promptly condemned me to the most humiliating of fates: being an imp familiar for wizards. Wizards! The most pompous, ridiculous, and eccentric creatures in the multiverse! This not only allowed Draxx to humiliate me for years on end, it allowed him to maintain a close watch and significant influence over the particular wizards to whom I was assigned. And I assure you, he sent me to the worst of the lot: bumbling fools, sniveling whiners, the magically incompetent, and, worst of all, those with delusions of grandeur.
Things, at long last, seemed to be headed in the right direction for me when Draxx sent me and a few others to fetch a relic for him. Not so, however! I'm merely following orders--killing off a few elven clerics and retrieving a magical staff that's been hidden in some monastery--and then everything goes awry. That magical staff, inexplicably, frees me (and the others) from Draxx's control. You'd think a big, bad demon lord would have the wits to do a bit of research about the item he sends his minions to steal on his behalf, right? Apparently not this demon lord.
So, here I am. Free from Draxx's control but constantly looking for a way to escape his wrath and...maybe...possibly...looking for a way to right some of the wrongs I was forced to commit while in his servitude.

I mean, I guess if you needed to, you could get a costume kit and dress it as a dog....?
the wretched, of course, not an ooze.

Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.
Or you could hollow out a taxidermed dog and just pour the ooze in there and cork it up. Blind sense should still work right?

Understood! I figured you wanted us to use the creatures base ability score! I will make the changes.

Or do the same thing to a humans corpse. Someone (If anyone can talk)Will just say you’re mute.
