Roger runs up to G6 and delivers it a powerful slash with his longsword, and then in a great surge of strength follows it up with a blow so fierce it almost removes one of it's arms KILLING it!
Meanwhile Mysti attacks G7 twice using her bonus attack and clobbers G7 for 14 dmg. It looks like it's barely staying on it's feet.
G7 being the lone gnoll standing amidst a field of slaughter looks panicked and bolts for the the path on the top of the map towards the crag. He disappears from view behind the boulders but you can hear digging, scratching sounds and the sounds of rocks being moved or thrown.
G4 and G5 twitch in their sleep a bit as if dreaming of chasing rabbit :)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rising from his knees with a satisfactory smile, Wormsquirt draws his sword. Placing the tip of his blade on the gnolls stomach, he drives the sword inward and up into the lungs, hoping for a quick kill. "I love it when a plan comes together," he yells gleefully followed by a cackling laugh.
ooc: You're fine. This campaign is moving faster then my other training campaign and it's got more players.
Wormsquirt, your sword sinks in causing 9 dmg to G4 but has seemed to miss any vital organs as the gnolls eyes fly open and a yelp escapes from it's snout.
ooc: for attacking sleeping enemies, for those who may not know, you get advantage on attack and any attack that hits its a critical hit which doubles the damage dice (but not the modifier) if anyone doesn't get that or needs help with how to roll it let me know
OOC: Oh, that second dice rolled was for sneak attack? So because it's a crit if it hits, both of those should be doubled? So it should be 15 damage? Or am I getting totally confused?
OOC: I think this is where I'm confused. A critical hit doesn't roll twice as many dice, does it? It doubles the result of them. Reading the dice breakdown in his post, it looks like he's put the formula to double the dice if the first roll is a crit, but the first actual die result (i.e. to hit) was a 14, not a 20. So it's not counted the first die roll as a critical, but there's a second dice in the roll, which is what made me wonder if the first die was for normal damage and the second for sneak attack, because Wormsquirt is a Rogue attacking with advantage?
Sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm just trying to understand how the dice roller works, because that's a more complicated formula than I think I'd understand how to enter!
OOC: the combat dice roller I think automatically rolls a crit or adds a crit dice if you roll a 20 on attack, in this situation you get an automatic crit if you hit so he probably doubled his damage dice for that, however if he had actually rolled a 20 on attack it would have been 4x's really, at least that is how I understand it if that helps
ooc: It's no problem. Here's the official descriptions:
Critical Hits
When you score a critical hit, you get to roll extra dice for the attack's damage against the target. Roll all of the attack's damage dice twice and add them together. Then add any relevant modifiers as normal.
Unconscious
An unconscious creature is incapacitated (see the condition), can’t move or speak, and is unaware of its surroundings
The creature drops whatever it’s holding and falls prone.
Any Attack that hits the creature is a critical hit if the attacker is within 5 feet of the creature.
As to what Beetle is saying I've never played with 4x for rolling a 20. On an unconscious creature a roll of a 20 is no benefit because every roll that hits is a 20. As I read the rules I don't see anything in there about a natural 20 being a double crit. I've always interpreted it as a crit is a crit other wise it would be like hitting it with 2 attacks. That said there are many, many house rules about this and I've played with a few. Honestly I feel that if you're attacking an unconscious creature anything but a fumble (1) should crit
As a bonus action I will move my Hunter’s Mark from my initial target to Gnoll 6. Thorum draws his longbow aand shoots at G6
Attack: 13 Damage: 6
Hunter’s mark if hit: 3
Ghosts of Saltmarsh - DM
Second roll for to hit due to advantage:
10
Ghosts of Saltmarsh - DM
Thorum releases at G6 and unfortunately the shot goes wide and clatters against the boulders.
Roger is up

Roger charges towards G6 and chops at it with his longsword. Attack: 23 Damage: 13
Roger action surges and takes another whack at G6 if it is still standing, otherwise G7. Attack: 11 Damage: 8
I will be out until late tonight so I will leave my turn now and you can apply it depending on what Roger did...
Mysti will rush forward, shield and warhammer out and attack G7 if he is still up...
Attack: 17 Damage: 5
she will also use her Warpriest Ability to make a bonus attack on the same one if alive or one of the sleeping ones if g7 died..
Attack: 15 Damage: 4

Does anyone get an opportunity attack against G7 as it runs away? Mysti was in melee, right?

It looks like Beetle is out for a bit, I don't he'd mind me taking his opportunity attack for him.
Mysti swings her warhammer at the retreating gnoll.
Attack: 16 Damage: 10

My house rules
The gnoll is fast enough to get away as Mysti's swing just misses it.
Thanks for the call Zarbof!

How did that work for the dice roll that Wormsquirt made? Did it double the dice roll, or did it roll 2 dice instead?
