ooc: I posted the map on campaign page with full size link but here it is. Still checking out different mapmaking tools. Still not so impressed and I don't want to spend 40 bucks on something like cartographer.
Creos says you will be following the white marked trail leaving the mountain you are on now and making your way down the valley between the ridges. When you see the next mountain range to the east you will follow that ridge up to the red dragons lair. He says you will eventually have to cross the river. There are remains of a stone bridge in the ruins of the smaller city but you will still have to find a way across.
Halizthan nods as he looks over the map, a smirk forming on his face as he memorizes where the dragon lair is. "Well am sure that we can find a way to get across the river. If need be we could use the broom to go over one at a time but that would involve having to leave our mounts behind.
Creos hearing you talk of your mounts crossing the river starts shaking his head "I'm sorry to tell you but you should leave your mounts here if you wish them to be safe. There are places where you will be climbing and repelling down cliffs. Although maybe the broom you speak of can perhaps help with the climbs. The path through the mountains is much to treacherous for mounts. You could take them for a time but you'd have to release them at the first cliff. They would try to find their way home to be sure, but the mountains are dangerous as you have already seen."
"It seems there is much Tessa failed to inform you of" He huffs a bit "Typical dragon behavior. To say no more than is needed. In any case I will have to make haste if I'm to pickup the cloaks and be back by morning. I will leave you in my brothers care. We can speak more in the morning when I return"
"Yes it seems that we will have to learn more as she did not tellus much more then her desire for a mate and to have a child that she can treat like pje of her own kind. There was also a mention of a fallen city and great treasure for all of us that embarked on the quest." Halizthan says as he seems to look somewhat annoyed that at some point he will be forced to make the trip on foot. This was proving to be as vexing as his trip from the underdark to the surface.
As Creos starts to pack a small bag (looks like a duffel bag to you all) he says to Halizthan "Well that part at least is true. Or at least I expect it is. No one knows for sure how these cities fell but there are myths of a great and sudden calamity. If those myths are true then all the cities treasures would still remain"
Felicity will bring over the dragon's head as well as the wings she cut off. She turns to the cartographer. "Do you happen to have any skilled artisans or a butcher in this, village(?), of yours? I'd like to see what I can do with the wings in terms of aesthetic clothing. As for the head, I'd like some help extracting as much teeth as I can. Naturally I'd also ask the tongue be unharmed at least until I speak with his spirit in the morning."
"That is why I wish to go. I may still be young for an elf of any kind but I still would like money to keep myself afloat for the remaining centuries of my life." Hailzthan says as he smirks at the thought of more treasure.
Rend would nod and make his way over to Herbert and lead hin towards the stables. Once there, the kobold will rub the mastiffs belmy and feed him lots of meat from his rations (while casting speak with animals accidentally). "Hey buddy... we are going to have to leave you here for a while OK" The kobold would say with a tear in his eye. "We wont be gone long though so dont you worry. You will have fun here and be safe" The kobold would say as he curls up next to the large dog and falls asleep.
Before you curl up Rend, Kleesal comes up to you and says "I think Herbert would feel better if I stayed here with him. Is that ok? I'll make sure all the mounts are taken care of while you're away?"
"Ok... I guess.. he doesn't talk to me like he does you so you probably know what is best" Rend would say walking away seeming shorter than he already was as he slumps away. Once back to Felicity, he would open his bag full of dragon scales and teeth. "If you can find anyone that can use these to improve my spear ir shield, that would be awesome... or make me a cool dragon tooth dagger...that would be nice too... Otherwise you can have then or sell them .. I have a letter to write before bed" The kobold would sigh as he hands the shifter his back full or dragon parts and heads towards the inn.once there he would order a drink and start to write a letter.
(I had forgotten that Rend could talk to animals and stuff too)
K(If she tries to do the same to Halizthan he will make her wait for a few seconds, deciding to be a bit petulant before allowing the message to pass through his eye patch.)
Rend would reply back excitedly, "Hey! how are you? uhhh We made it to Tord and killed a red dragon along the way. cartographer says relic cannot be brought back".... he would pause as the line goes dead. "to you...."The kobold would mutter to himself, once again worried about disappointing the dragon.
