Felicity feels a small tug on her shirt. Turning she see the stable boy from her sparring match. "Begging yer pardon mi lady but I rode hard to catch you. I have a letter from The Lady here for ya" In a badly shaking hand he holds out a folded piece of paper.
Halizthan sils at his drink, only getting up when he sees the child from the stables near Felicity. He makes his way over, dodging around the other people in the bar as he does so. His hand rest on his staff, this never seeming to leave one of his hands as if he needed it to walk. "If I may inquire is this a private correspondence or is it something that involves our quest?"
He looks suddenly nervous at your arrival "Oh, Master Halizthan, Uh, The Lady just said to deliver it, I, uhm, don't know what it says" He turns somewhat confused holding the note out not sure who to give it to.
"It is fine child. I merely wish to know as any new information for our quest should be shared amongst us." Halizthan did his best to appear calm, knowing many were uneasy around his kind and the scars across his face did not help much.
"Oh it's you squirt. You must've ridden pretty hard to get here that fast. Thanks for the letter."
Felicity takes the letter and tosses 3 copper and a silver towards him. "Get yourself some food while you're here. They've got amazing pies from what I hear."
He hands you the note and gladly takes the copper but stands there looking up at you as you accept it bouncing a bit from side to side.
When you open the note you see it's only a half sheet of paper with the bottom edge torn. It reads in an unsteady script "Please take my stable boy into your service. He will look after your mounts and be no trouble at all"
He doesn't notice that you've cast on him but looking nervously between you and the drow sputters "Please take me into your service! I know a knight should never lie, but there's nothing for me back home! You sparring with me was the greatest moment of my life! I can take care of yer hourses and mamma tought me to cook! I can hunt squirell and rabbit and make you food and I'll polish your armor whatever you want just please please take me with you" He finally takes a breath looking up to you hopefully
"Who wrote that letter? I won't mind but tell the truth and I'll consider taking you with us."
Felicity casts Sending and directs a message straight at Tessa. "Kid from stables wants to join us. Says he has nothing back home. Honestly I can relate. Send extra provisions to Collossusville by morning."
Looking completely ashamed he hangs his head low "My friend wrote it for me, I don't know my letters. I just really really really want to come with you." His chest puffs out a bit "I know I'm sposed to do great things! Ever since I started at the stables I was fastest to shoe a horse.... and... and they listen to me. I can tell what theyz thinking. they says, scritch me here or I got a bur in my tail and I listen." For a moment he gets a grimace on his face on looks down again "I did take some food from our larder, and, well I stoled a horse. I didn't mean to but it was the only way to catch with yer"
You hear a reply from Tessa right away, almost before the sending is complete. I know nothing of what you speak. I sent no children after you. If you need supplies say to Gert at the general store "I'm golden" he will give you credit
Felicity casts Sending once more to Tessa. "Oh he apparently stole a horse and some food too. Could you take care of that for us?"
"I'm not opposed to having an extra hand carry the bags but on two conditions. First, learn to speak normally (please)...as well as how to read and write while you're with us. Second, the other party members have to unanimously agree. If not, I'm gonna have to send you back home. I have an errand to run so take it up with my party okay?"
Felicity turns and heads straight for Gert's general store.
"Oh, I'll speak however yer..." he takes a moment "however YOU want me too. I'm a fast learner! Could you really teach me my letters?"
Tessa replies... Hmm, yes of course. I shall talk to the stable master about it but some places you'll travel is no place for children, although I suppose there's no harm in taking him north to the map maker. You will have to look after him. I don't want a child's death on my hands
Halizthan sighs as he looks to the child, drawing his rapier and then moving to grab the child by the arm. "You are going to be a liability if you do not know how to fight. My blade skills are not the best but any drow worth a damn can defend themselves. Now come and I shall show you a few basics." His voice leaves no room for argument.
Wide eyed he stumbles after you as you lead him away "I have my own sword! I even got a hit on Felicity with it, everyone in the stables can tell ya... er can tell YOU i mean"
The barkeep shakes his head "This day just keeps getting stranger and stranger!" Meanwhile many of the patrons have gathered around Rend to thank him (or schmooze him) for the free drinks. They are telling stories of the matches and patting him on the back and such. Overall a jovial feeling has returned to the bar after Felicity's earlier performance.
Inside Gert's general store, Felicity tells the shop owner, "I'm golden...I need some gear preferably something that'll keep a scrawny kid alive. For weapons, got any daggers, bows, crossbows, or the like in stock? For armor I'll just take the best yet lightest you have."
Seemingly annoyed she leans against the counter with her head held in her hand and repeatedly taps her cheek.
"That is good but even if you got a hit in more sparing never hurts. Besides that it is wise to learn from and study other styles of fighting. I practice with a rapier but I also learned from my other drow who like to fight in lighter armor and use quick precise strikes."
In the shop: The shopkeeper at first having a blaise attitude and starting with the usual 'welcome to my shop' hears "I'm Golden" and suddenly snaps to attention. "Of course My Lady. I am here to serve! I, I uhm. It's not something I... wait a moment you say for a kid? But real weapons I presume? Yes, Yes, I can get that for you but it will take some time. Are you staying at the inn? I can drop it off there for you later tonight"

She seems skeptical and tells him, "One moment."
Felicity turns to Rend and starts spewing off Draconic for an entire minute. She casts Geas on the boy with the command, "Never Lie."
