(OOC: This has certainly turned into a comedy of errors. :D )
Also, what spell were you using?
You can hear a conversation between someone with a dwarven accent along with the city guard leader down in the main room. Once the mist fills the stairwell you hear the dwarf yell out, "what is going on in here?! Aren't you going to do something about this?!" Footfalls approach the stairwell. "You lot get out here right now or were coming up!" This is the city guard that begins to well for everyone to come down to the main room. "We have reinforcement coming!"
(I can roll insight but thought was for reading people, investigation for figuring how things work)
Insight 20
Investigation: 23
(ooc: How lucky was that???)
Yep, I meant an investigation check. Based on the runes and lack of a traditional lock, you can tell this is an arcane lock that requires either a command word or touch from a specific person. You also can tell the safe is small, almost tiny. There is no way a cloak could fit into the safe. A ring could, but you assume they're probably kept together.
(So up to DM but I did say Wensa was blocking that door and rolled high so I don’t think Skeekbad or Jallmur could get in the manager office right now. At least not easily)
Gizzmo says "bloody fist" and "fight night" trying to get lucky with the command words. He'll then look through the desk for any words that could be command words written down or scratched into the wood.
Perception: 22
Investigation: 11
He also looks around to see if there is a window in this room or a way out besides the door.

Yeah. Sorry about that.
Skeekbad and Jallmur are locked out of the manager's office. You guys are in the hall or can go into the storeroom. The stairwell begins to fill with a magical fog.

Those words do not work to open the lock and you do not find anything that appears to be "password under the keyboard" type of things. There is a window on the south wall that can be opened. It leads into the street.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wensa
Seeing Gizzmo talking at the box to open it Wensa bends down to help. “Nice Box open now. Wensa wants what is in nice box.” Wensa tries to pick the box up and pet it in an attempt to get it to open.
"Wensa, everyone," he says into the walky talky rock. "I think we need to get out of here. We'll have to take another crack at it. They are calling for more reinforcements and they are in the building right now." Gizzmo is getting a bit anxious that this has gone, poorly. Even for Goblinses.

The safe is "built" into the floor and cannot be removed. Sweet talking the safe does not seem to work out so well. The runes begin to slowly glow redder and redder...... You're not sure what that means, but it most likely is not a good thing.
Skeekbad trys her best to hide in the storeroom. She jumps in a crate and wears the lid for a hat. The box is not tall enough so most of her goblin head is visible.

Skeekbad
Skeekbad's ears try to perk up to listen for danger but they flatten out against her box-lid-hat. She looks at the door, shivering in her box hide out.
Skeekbad and Jallmur notice the sending stones buzzing in their pockets and pull them out to get Gizzmo’s transmission (post 275). Jallmur also hides in a crate but chooses one that he actually fits all the way into. Skeekbad, you can hear an incantation coming from nearby, but you can not tell what is being said.
After Gizzmo suggests leaving Wensa starts nodding agreemen, and pulls out her own stone. ”Skebad and Jallmur go out window in there. Wensa and Gizzmo go out window in here. Goblins meet in back to find good hidey spot.” Grabbing the flyer with the fight info Wensa goes over to the window and tries to open it.

Skeekbad
Skeekbad runs toward the window that Jallmur came through and tries to climb out and tries to start crawling down the side of the building. She loudly whispers to Jallmur.
"Jallmur and Skeekbad must run! Out window quick!"

You hear yelling downstairs, but you can not tell what is being said.
Noted, but there really is not anywhere to hide. Probably behind the door is best.
