Jorin walks towards Jacobson and flings the Destroyer's gore off his axe blade before returning it to it's belt loop. He smiles at the man and says, "A fun bit of slaughter that was."
His face straightens as he notices Jacobson's demeanor, "Say, boss, you have the look of concern about you. What's on your mind?" Persuasion: 19
edit: Stick with killing things Jorin, stick with killing things...

Pascal will speak (give JC a moment to post haha)
Pascal McHuman speaks up, “Yeah boss, normally you’s more excited ‘bout this sort of thing. You ain’t...”Pascal squints an almost reptilian squint, “Losin’ your nerve, are ya?”
Quillary looks about as the time shift happens, then remembers where they are, and relaxes, putting her cudgel away. She will resume her respectful place as a quiet guard in the back. Being Persuasive is not her thing.

she/her Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands.
(OOC: The Persuasion DC was moderately tough, so I guess the module writer was fine with Jacobson not saying anything.)
Jacobson glances at the lead wagon. It was hammered by the Ice Storm, and he is waiting for a replacement wagon to come up, so he can transfer the contents.
He is lost in thought for a moment, then his steely gaze returns. "The plan is unchanged. A few hobgoblins are nothing to be concerned about... I won't need your bodyguard services tonight. Your group should rest and sleep for the night. We still have a long way to go before we reach Mulmaster... And if the chef offers you the "mystery meat" stew, you might want something else. We lost more than one horse during the fight."
(OOC: Everyone gets a Long Rest, or at least the dream version of a long rest. Don't ask me how the logic works... its magic.
Let me know if you have other plans, or if I should advance to the next day.)

Before turning in, because he needs the practice, Hildigrim casts detect magic as a ritual.
Hildigrim is startled at the elemental magic that seems to be pouring out of the wagon (that now has the contents of previous wagon). He has never encountered a Devastation Orb before, but he didn't expect a simple ritual to notice the orb, at this range. The carrying case should have shielded it.
(You can click on the item to get more info about the orb, if you want. When you are away from the other cultists, you could have asked Tinker to broadcast that information to you.)

Threaten Pascal with a good time, why don’t ya! Pascal is eating that soup. However, shortly after, I imagine that he has kicked the cook out of the kitchen because that grool insulted Pascal’s refined palate!

(OOC: Well, since these are cultists for Imix, the Elemental Evil of Fire, so it may surprise you to know that
...the orb is...
fire.
After awaking (and getting a Long Rest), the party is brought to speak to Jacobson before starting the day. “Good to see you this morning. I’m looking through the maps of the area and there’s a little town called Elmwood nearby. Looks mostly like a fishing village. I’d rather avoid it if possible. I’d like you all to go with Ravia, and see if you can’t find a way around that doesn’t take us too far off the path but gets us around any potential entanglements.”
Ravia claims to know the area fairly well. She will take the lead, although she is (of course) grateful for any assistance the five of you can provide.

Jacobson: "The attack was just misfortune. Those hobgoblins mistook our caravan as merchants. They used Ice Storm on the lead and trailing wagons to stop the other wagons from moving."
Jorin feigns a scoff and says, "We could just butcher the village, unless there is a reason to avoid it?"
Jacobson: "Mistress Vanifer’s plan comes first. The village is small, but adventurers and soldiers pass through all the time. We can't afford more losses after that hobgoblin raid."
Under her breath (so not to be heard by Jacobson), Ravia chastises Jorin. "Why butcher when you can burn down... But Mistress Vanifer always comes first."
