It does! Hildigrim's suggestion allows Jorin to get an effective blow for 13 damage to the Champion. (He barely feels it.)
As Pascal's fireball erupts from his hands, the Wizard (or more precisely, an Abjurer) uses Counterspell as a reaction to negate it. On his turn, he does a Ray of Frost aimed at Pascal.

The Priest (or more precisely, a War Priest) uses Dispel Magic to remove Quillary's Spike Growth. (The others along that path did not move this round, until the growth was disenchanted.)
The Thief (Master Thief) didn't move, but could still fire a crossbow at Drusk, with 4d6 sneak damage since the Champion is nearby.
Attack: 15 Damage: 28 (miss, thank goodness)
The Apprentice takes cover behind a nearby shrub (+4 AC), and aims a Fire Bolt at Hildigrim.

The Champion is shouting something to the rest of his party. You can't make out the words, as they are faint and covered by a low hum. (Apparently someone knocked out the microphone cable.) You get the impression that he wants them to concentrate their attacks on one of our party at a time, instead of splitting the damage. Annoyed, he takes 3 more great sword swings at Jorin.

Before Jorin goes, Drusk will use his bonus action to cast a 1st level healing word on Jorin: 7 points. For his action, he will try to push down the Champion. (If he is successful, then Jorin gets advantage on his 2nd and 3rd attack rolls this round.) Drusk: 15 Champion: 10 (the guy is stronger than Drusk, and has Athletics proficiency)
The Wizard uses counterspell on Pascal's fireball. The wizard is getting annoyed. Seems like he is yelling at Pascal to stop casting Fireball, so that he can attack our group with a Cone of Cold. (That seems like an unreasonable request, but whatever.) He moves south, standing next to the western gate post, and casts a Firebolt at Pascal. Attack: 22 Damage: 19 (hits, but low damage rolls considering it was 3d10)
The Thief moves south, and fires a crossbow bolt at Drusk again. Attack: 12 Damage: 25 (hits, ouch for sneak damage)
The Priest moves south, and casts Banishment at 5th level, targeting both Hildigrim and Drusk... Rolling for their CHA saves vs. DC 15: Drusk - 8, Hildigrim - 20

Or if you think the odds are not good, you can hold onto your Inspiration. If the Priest gets hit, then he might lose concentration.)

Jorin notices the priest begin to cast a spell while looking at HIldi. His natural distrust of sorcery, combined with his total ignorance of how it works, causes him to yell out, "Hildi, duck!"

Start of Round 3
The Champion took 39 damage that round (1 hit from Jorin, sneak damage by Hildigrim), for a total of 52 damage. He is still well over half health (does extra 7 damage for every hit).
Jorin is at 40 HP (Quillary heals 22, Drusk 8). The thief reduces Drusk to 28 hp, and the wizard's fire has Pascal at 41 hp.
The Champion is still shouting orders to the rest of his party. After the apprentice aimed at Jorin, the Wizard yells at him. (Listen to me, not the sword-swinging oaf.) The Priest looks smug after Hildigrim is banished.
The Champion is annoyed that Jorin keeps getting healed. Since he can't reach Quillary, he takes 3 swings at Drusk.

Drusk thanks Lliira that he was only hit once. (Now at 10 hp). The opposing party seem confused about this, so Drusk quickly changes that to "praise Imix!"

Party is up! Quillary, Jorin, and Pascal to go. (Hildigrim is vanished this round... unless Pascal wants to use the DM inspiration for Drusk's dispel magic. If so, then roll d20+3 vs. DC 15. If not... this is only a memory...)
(EDIT: Realized Drusk can't cast a 3rd level and 1st level spell on his turn, so no bonus action.)

Pascal’s going to... FIREBALL AGAIN! However, he’s going to first move OUT of counterspell range.
(OOC: With the current map, that won't work. He is 30' from the Wizard, so if he moves 30' back, he is still inside the 60' range of Counterspell.
But I like the idea... I assume that the last two rounds, Pascal stepped back 5' each time? A small enough move that the Wizard wouldn't notice right away what Pascal was up to. That would put Pascal just south of where Hildigrim is standing used to be, 40' away from the Wizard.

With all the fire and whatnot Quillary snaps a little bit. She lets out a small giggle and does a pirouette in place, slapping Drusk upside the head on the backswing. “The voices say it is not yet time to die!” she whispers to him. Even in the dream her spores make a slightly grey cloud around her.
Action: Cast Cure Wounds with a third level slot on Drusk for 20 healing.
