OH he is in the air...like 100 feet up in the air? Hmm, are you saying there is likely no way for him to get into axe swinging range? I would totally try that if it looks possible, with adv on athletics checks and Jorin's general affinity for axe'ing things, it would make sense.
Sorry guys, i'm totally hosing the flow of this combat
No worries, yes, the manticore is currently flying. Jorin does not expect it will be stupid enough to come within even giant axe range, no matter how high Jorin climbs. At the moment it is outside of giant hand axe throwing range, too, fwiw.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Jorin uses his action to dash (as before) but back down to the path, rather than climbing further up. He calls out to the group, "We should push forward up the path! There may be a cave, or overhang, ahead that would shield us from the beast, and force him to come down if he wants his meal."
OOC > So, you're on the face of this mountain, basically. Unless you find a cave, or a boulder sticking out the side of the mountain, or Jorin's hoped for overhang, you are unlikely to find cover, fwiw.
Party vs. Manticore
Round 2 DECLARATION phase
Starting Map: Still trying without a map, for better or worse.
Sitrep: The party has declared the intent to make its way further along the mountain path. There are small shrubs and rocks, but not much cover. At the moment, however, you are still as you were last round, Hildi and Ilena on the far side of the crevice, Giant Jorin and Drusk squeezed into the crevice (Jorin having run up, and then back down it), and Prodigious Pascal on the near side of the crevice. The manticore remains in the air, approximately 100' feet away, as the spike flies.

Start of round: ongoing effects are Embiggening on Jorin and Pascal, concentration (Pascal), for this round and 8 more
Monsters declare! The manticore is throwing several tail spikes at you, again!
Next: Everyone please declare.
Declare Delay or as many of Action, Move, Bonus Action and/or Reaction as you want
Roll initiative (just in case)
Roll an extra d20 (just in case)
Roll for your declared actions (to hit, damage, etc.) if any
Drusk will stand up (half movement), move 15' forward along the path (following the others), and then go Prone again.
As his action, he will HelpPascal, if he decides to do more "Pepper Breath". Drusk will tell Pascal where the manticore bat-winged lion human-faced thingy is flying, to anticipate where to aim the fire bolt.
(If Drusk cannot Help in this way, then he will Dash an extra 30' before going prone.)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Giant Jorin was only going to leisurely jog up the path, keeping his action free to Dodge, but seeing his fellow adventures book it at his tactical suggestion, Giant Jorin will also dash up the path so that they don't get too split up.
I am going to assume that Pascal runs in the same direction as the rest of the party, though he did not specify. The manticore is nonplussed to realize that all of its targets are running away.
(You are making the DM do geometric math and make friends with Pythagoras, though admittedly this is my own fault given the nature of the threat. Move+Dash: Hildi 50', Ilena 80', Drusk, Jorin, and Pascal 60' each. Starting at Manticore (also Jorin) as point zero, Pascal starts at -15' (Drusk was standing next to him at -10' and then dove into the ravine), Drusk starts -5', Jorin 0', Ilena 5', and Hildi 10'. The Manticore moves Speed+Dash for 100'.)
The party turns and scrambles along the path as quickly as you all can go. Hildi runs as fast as his stature allows, but Giant Jorin catches up to him, followed closely by Drusk and a little further back by Pascal. Ilena runs past Hildi by running up on the side of the mountain a few steps, then racing ahead. Unimpressed, the manticore beats the air with its wings and races along with you, staying overhead, but easily outpacing even fleet Ilena.
Hilid looks about wildly as he runs, but sees nothing that the group could use as cover, but in his head he can't shake a thought... where did this horror come from? It's not like you all weren't looking around? You would have seen it flying towards you, no? It must have come out from somewhere? Maybe up there where you first spotted it? (100 ft up). Maybe it came out of a cave?
Ahead of the group (15' ahead of Ilena) the trail switches back and climbs back towards where you came, but higher.
OOC > It's roughly 15' to the switchback, then it would be 100' back along that higher path to where you first saw the manticore, so 115' total... if there is in fact a cave there.

Hildigrim sees logic in Jorin's idea and plans to proceed up the path.
Pascal high tails it after them as well! Away from the spikes! Away!
