Dathyra lept back as the limbs thrashed. She luckily got away with only a small nick on the shoulder. But she heard Hari's grunt as he and Jarlas took the brunt of the attack. Jarlas seemed to still be relatively okay, and Hari was a fighter, but she wasn't and if their team lost either of them, they could be in real trouble. She went and steadied the dwarf as he hacked the tree with all his fury. She put all of her focus into using the gifts blessed to her by Lathander.

Dathyra moves over and infuses the healing spirit of Lathander into his wounds. Hari feels himself fortified by the holy power. Entropy pauses and can't decide if she wants to rush toward the creature and risk getting caught in its entangling roots or stay at a distance and continue to try and wear it down. She elects this time to stay where she is and continue to attack at range.

The Wicked Wort's timbers shrieked in pain at the blast and it trembled with rage that these interlopers were keeping it from the prey that fuel its continued growth and domain. It renewed its attacks on the fearless crew.
There's no sign of Shanareen, but there's also no intereference with additional wortlings attacking either. The Wicked Wort is gouged in several places and dark sap is dripping down its bark.
Jarlas, Sea Spray, Hari, Dathyra and Entropy are UP !
There's no sign of Shanareen, but there's also no intereference with additional wortlings attacking either. The Wicked Wort is gouged in several places and dark sap is dripping down its bark.
How much time do they have before the wortlings are back? Is Shanareen okay? Where did she go? Did Nozamara stop the assault on the town?
Jarlas, Sea Spray, Hari, Dathyra and Entropy are UP !
Harivaldr took a moment to look around in the midst of the fierce melee. There was no sign of the wortlings, or Shanareen for that matter... Gritting his teeth, he aimed another slash at the Wicked Wort as he called out to his fellows and healed Dathyra, "Can anyone see Shanareen? We'll need her to pacify this son of a birch soon!Lækna!"

Dathyra looked around the wooded area, looking for any sign of the dryad. She was starting to feel an increasing sense of dread that they had not seen her since she chased after her tree. She hoped they would find her soon.
Entropy watches as the Triton begins to deliver smiting punishment to the Wicked Wort. It shudders under Paladin's assault. She looks around for any sign of the wortlings, Shanareen or her mother, Nozamara. She hoped for the best for them but she and her companions were locked in a struggle with the Wort. Even if the killed it, she wasn't sure that it would stop without the Dryad. Entropy sets her wandering thoughts aside and sends another wave of blasts at the creature.
Wort. Blast: 22 Damage: 5
Wort. Blast: 21 Damage: 4
The purple beams of force energy arc across and slam into the Wort. Several layers of bark fall to the ground and the trunk looks to be definitely split.
Dathyra sees that the Wicked Wort is taking heavy damage, she scans the area and sees smaller wortlings chasing after a green blur through the woods. The dryad. They appear to close on the dryad to find that she appears 60 ft away besides another tree. The wortlings chase after her and she slips through their branches again but not after appearing to damage them somehow. Branches and bark are shredded and occasionally a Wortling will fall, but they are getting closer to the Dryad each time. She is slowing down and Dathyra notices, not unscathed.
She feels the healing word from Hari bolster her wounds, if only they could do something for Shanareen.
The Wicked Wort stumbles back against the onslaught. Confusion, fear and rage ripple through its mind. This food was fighting back, hurting it. "How dare they!" With its tremor sense it starts reach out for the wortlings. "Where were they?"
It attacks again, this time against the one that hurt it.
Harivaldr watched in awe as the Wicked Wort unleashed what seemed to be an endless salvo of strikes upon Jarlas... and the triton stood firm when the bark and branches cleared. This is going to be one hell of a tale to tell, the skald couldn't help but think to himself. But that would have to come later, right now, he needed to get the corrupted tree's attention away from the heroic figure of his newest ally. Just because he could survive one string of strikes like that didn't mean that Harivaldr wanted him to weather another! Pooling his bardic powers, Harivaldr unleashed an empowered variation of an earlier spell, and his cry of "Þrumubylgja!" was nigh deafening!
Things were starting to spiral out of their control and fast. Despite all Jarlas and Hari had done, it seemed that the former tree was still going strong. Furthermore, the dryad was in trouble, and it didn't look like her chances were good. Dathyra tugged at Hari's sleeve.
"Wait! Shanareen's still trying to evade the wortlings," she said, pointing in the direction she had last seen her disappear in the trees. "If we keep fighting the tree, it'll be useless if she can't settle it. We have to help her."

The sensation of someone tugging at Harivaldr's sleeve pulled him from his battleborn reverie. He shook himself when he realized that it was Dathyra, and his face became ashen when he heard what she'd said and saw Shanareen's state. She clearly needed help, that much was undeniable. "Jarlas!" the skald shouted, "Hold the line with Entropy, Dathyra and I are going to help Shanareen! Do not falter now, drottinn minn!" With those words of encouragement, Harivaldr turned to Dathyra and said, "Let us make haste, use whatever spells you need to!"
With only a moment's hesitation, Harivaldr ran towards the dryad, praying to the gods above that his thunder spell would allow him to withdraw without branches raking across his back.
Last bardic inspiration (d8) to Jarlas, move 25 ft. towards Shanareen, possibly taking an opportunity attack from the tree.
(Since Harivaldr didn't move or use a bonus action earlier, I'd like to use them now. If he has to wait until next round, that's cool too.)

Even though the strike was not the trees hardest hit I finally lose my hold of the wall of water surrounding us. Mentally commanding Sea Spray to help the others get Shanareen I call out "Go! Help her! She is the only chance we have to not have to kill the tree! I can hold it for a time" Moving around the tree to get between where my companions are and it I drop to a fighting stance holding the trident ready I instead call out "Kahi makani" All the breezes of the forest seem to shift to me coiling around the trident a blast of hurricane wind slams into the twisted trunk of the tree trying to push it back. Then keeping the wind focused on the tree I back away from it myself.
Moving to try and force it away from the others and only get the tree in the spells area if possible.

"Then come, Lady of the Northwood, let us waste no time. Dathyra, let's get her onto Jarlas's steed, quickly!" As he helped her up, he whispered another "Lækna", this one a bit more potent than the others. He was running out of stamina, magical and otherwise, Harivaldr reflected. Dathyra assisted Hari in getting Shanareen to her feet, though she could feel that the dryad was in a weakened state. It was like trying to hold onto a wilted flower to keep from crushing the petals. As the two hurried to get her to Jarlas' steed, she looked behind her to be sure the dead wortlings were not going to be coming after them anytime soon.
