During the time following the ceremony Sylrie was quiet, taking some of the ankheg meat and finding a tree to lean against to take in the whole of the Nieber stone, and the countless names upon it. The pride was still in his heart but a healthy feeling of anxiety now set in, the LT had said that we were to become the sword and shield of the Queen tomorrow, "Finally" he breathlessly whispered as he hung his head and eyes towards his lap. There were so many things on his mind, his position here in the unit, his brothers and sister back home, the Queen, but even among all that as he looked up he found Kora's gaze also upon the Nieber stone as well, searching.
"Who's name are you searching for Kor?" he said approaching slowly from behind, his voice kept low so as not to draw possibly unwanted attention from the others.
She looks up as Sylrie comes over. "My father's name is there," she points, "Just under where we etched our names." It glows faintly, Fenoshin Reshni, along with the other heroes who have given their lives to Aundair. "And my mother's a few on," she points again, Niira Shali, it is not glowing. "They met at Faderock, when they both were stationed there. I confess I knew of this place, my family has spoken of it, but I am more affected than I thought I would be at the significance I feel."
She takes a last moment to gaze on the rock, then turns with a smile. "But you, Sylrie. I gather you have some connection to the Queen? That must be... exhilarating? Exciting. Meaningful," she glances at the monument again. "We fight for her and Aundair, after all. Tell me of her. What is she like?"

Before going to sleep Isuzu spends some time during the evening sitting silently near the campfire with the others who congregate there... sharing the warmth of the fire until it is time for her to bed down, and then to later, get up to ready herself and take her turn on watch duty with Kash.
As she sits at the fire, she does not speak unless spoken to first... spending her time staring into the flames as if deep in meditation... or contemplation considering the day's events and what tomorrow may bring.
Sylrie looks on as Kora points out her family on the rock, glowing faintly. "...actually I don't, not yet anyways. I want to, more than anything. For her to merely speak my name would shatter me to a thousand pieces, but in the same breath build me to my greatest heights. My family is from Fairhaven, I saw her there once, her guard and her were on route somewhere within the city when I was a boy. I caught wind of it and followed, rooftop to rooftop until..." Sylriel stopped and looked down at his feet, his hands now moved to the pockets of his trousers. "...I fell off the roof and landed on in a merchant stand. I swear, she looked at me and smiled, even though I was covered in fruit. I knew then that I wanted to get close to her. I plied my trade, learning to land footfall silently, studying magic, whatever I could to find a way into the castle where I might see that smile again. But ultimately this seemed the fastest route." he looked back up to match Kora's smile with his own, "I am going to be a royal guard one day, lay down my life to protect our Queen. My father says it's a boyish fantasy, that I should be more practical, stop chasing dreams."
She smiles at the story Sylrie tells. "It sounds like she made a lasting impression! I am not sure a stint through the army is a guaranteed path to the Queen's guard, mind, given where all my family has ended up. You'd think we'd be closer if that were the end result." But her smile is kind, not mocking. "It is no boyish fantasy, but the ambitious plans of a young man, as I see it. Your father has the right of one thing, though, dreams are not to be trusted. Rather, it is the hard work, the practical pursuits, and your will that will see you in her presence again."
"I'll keep you alive long enough to see it through," she laughs.

I only hope that will extend both ways, you're a good listener, I can use that in my life so...don't go doing anything reckless like you did with those Ankhegs again eh?"
Once the ceremony is over Kashkaval will sit around the fire enjoying what could be the last peaceful evening for a while. He half listens to the conversations going on around him, his mage hand polishing Buttons who is stuck spine down in to the dirt near him. When it comes time for his watch with Isuzu I imagine it passes rather quietly between the two partially because she is rather quiet and also because it is the middle of the night. He will spend some time at the structure looking over the names carved in to the stonework like his and think about the long tradition and honor it represents.
"Oh, but reckless is what we grunts do, Sylrie. So the wand adepts can take the enemy down in comfort," she laughs. "They would not have touched me in any case. And had that one gotten a mouthful, it would have spit me out. Too tough and stringy. I was just keeping it from the rest of you delicate morsels."

Sylrie laughed, "I doubt the ankheg have any qualms with the tenderness of their prey. Though, I have a feeling about you, and while you seem tough on the outside I'd bet there is a tenderness beneath." Sylrie smiled and then turned his gaze back to the stone structure, looking over all the names in turn.
The night goes by without incident, as was to be expected. The quiet contemplation of the evening leads to a still morning. Jays can be heard, singing their morning songs, as the robins in the trees above you chirp excitedly. Mist slowly dances across the creek as you wake up to a warm fire with coffee brewing. Breakfast is also prepared, eggs and sausages, with some breakfast cakes as well.
"Aye good morning, made enough to keep us going, I reckon. And the misses sent us with some morning cakes specifically this morning. Cheese aundarishes." ((OOG Like a cheese danish, just Eberron'd...lol)) Sarge will say as he hands out cups of coffee. "As soon as we're done eating, LT wants us to pack up and get back to base. Faderock is waiting."
The breakfast was delicious and filling. everything you needed for a long morning ride. The morning goes by easily enough, as does the afternoon. The day becomes night, and the night becomes morning. The cycle repeats, again and again. Three days you ride back to Faderock through the Aundarian countryside. The farmlands that you pass have workers in them, picking weeds and attending to their fields. The people are friendly as they see you pass, waving or sometimes cheering you on. The pride that your fellow countrymen feel for the service you give this nation is palpable.
The LT leads the way, riding at the front of your formation as you ride from village to village. On the third afternoon after the ceremony, you can see Faderock in the distance. The fort looks smaller than it actually is. There is a House Lyrandar dock jutting out of the middle of it, with a large elemental airship docked to it. It's firey ring burning brightly in the grey sky.
The fort itself is made out of the large rock formation that juts out of the countryside. With granite fortifications built around what nature couldn't have done. It is a hexagonally shaped fort, with a tower on each of its points. Each wall has two cannons on them, magically imbued to keep away the staunchest opponents.
Flying over your head as you ride into base is a squad of dragonhawk riders, elite warriors trained to fly aerial combat missions against Aundair's enemies. Five (5) of them fly in formation, patrolling the skies above Faderock. The precision of the dragonhawk riders is only matched by their bravado. Flying into the most dangerous battles of the past century, many a rider and dragonhawk has died for the cause.
"Welcome back, Greywind." A soldier at the gate yells down from his small tower as the bronzewood double doors open wide. The doors are twenty (20) feet wide ((OOG A piece)) and forty (40) feet tall.
"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

You do, but so would all of you. It's a supply ship called the Fire Aurora.
What you would know more than the others is that it is captained by Captain Fletch Tranquility d'Lyrandar. A Dragonmarked Heir. He's lighthearted and has a good soul. He takes the war and his duties seriously, but with a devil may care attitude sometimes. You both know each other, if not well, at least on a first name basis.
