Sy greeted the young woman with a smile, "Evening Hilla" he looked up to the moons above and took in their beauty. "Yes, hopefully Siberys blesses us with safe passage." he looked back to the young woman, "Speaking of safe, how did you fair against those fish people a few days ago, I don't see any obvious damage, no new peg legs or eye patches..." he winked at her as he leaned against the side of the crows nest and began twirling his mustache between his fingertips.
"Aye, not well. One left me with a new scar, the bastard had four (4) arms and knocked me out cold while I was by the wheelhouse. Thankfully, thanks to the Captain and your LT, our forces were able to rally quickly and strike them down before anyone was gravely injured." She pulls up her shirt and shows you a newly formed scar going from her ribs to her hip. "A prideful gash, I'd say. Been on this ship for a year and haven't even seen a storm that was dangerous. Glad we all made it through that safely, but I need to work on my swordsmanship. Maybe learn how to Dodge more. Master Rigaby said he'd train us more in defense, though. How did you fair? I have only heard stories of some mechanical creature appearing and your Sarge knocking himself out."

To Johnathon's comments about dreaming, she says, "Dreams and aspirations are different. What you dream of when you are asleep is... fanciful, or frightening, but not a map to set your life upon. What you dream up when you are awake, those are ideas and plans worth pursuing."
Personally- John stands up. Dreams are dreams, whether asleep or not. And the worst thing about this war isn’t the Warforged, they’re doing their jobs, it’s the war itself. And they don’t need to sleep, but they can. Dreams are aspirations; Something you want. Most of these soldiers, I presume, dream of the war being over. People who have lost others dream of them coming back. John brushes his hand through a horse’s mane, then sticks his hand out towards the sailor. I’m John, and my dad built the best warforged ever. What do you dream of, Mister..... ?

"Well met, lad. Johnathan, that's an old name of an old people. Like the name Marcus or Joseph. Strong names of times long forgotten." He hits his pipe again and puts it away. He hops off the barrel and walks over to Mustard, "This one is a beaut, she is. A little slow on commands from strangers, not as headstrong as that one."
He points over to Maple Stirrup. Maple continues to eat from the oat bag.
"Dreams...my dream is the same as me father's dream. And me father's father's dream before him. To see a united Galifar under our sove'eign the Queen. The end of this war, this war withou' end." Si'Dell turns to face Johnathan and Kora, "Stay down here as long as ye want, yer horses love the company. And apples." He nods his head to the barrel he was sitting on. "Best not to let Master Killingsworth know about that though, he gets greedy about food resources on the ship. But they ain't fer sailors mouths, are they?"

“You may not be a wizard, that I can tell. But you do have power, I sense it. Plus, I saw you healing a couple of the boys on the deck. I’ve never met a cleric in this war that was as reserved as you. No story you say? Your silence speaks otherwise.”
Coo grabs his bucket and slops it down in the trough again, his gloves tied tightly to his hands and the disgusting matter is then hoisted back towards the window.
“I do mind the smell. Even my magic can’t cover it up.”
Isuzu
The Reaper turns to Jakcoo, looking at the wizardling with a sad mournful smile as she draws in a deep breath and asks, "So you smell it, do you? Know then that the heady aroma that you smell now pales in comparison to what lay beyond."
Slowly Isuzu draws closer to him... taking his hand into her own as she begins to tell him a story...
"To me, the scent is such sweet sorrow reminding me when I was still but a young maiden... myself and others born with Death's kiss were gathered up to be taken to the Unseen Sanctuary. During the journey, my sisters and I were led through Death's Door to glimpse a land yet undreamed, a land of mist and shadow. What we bore witness to was a slaughter beyond all mortal reckoning. My sisters and I... those of us with our sanity still intact looked upon the devastation that had been wrought. Dead bodies by the thousands... nay, much more than that... in numbers greater than my mortal mind could comprehend at the time... spread all over the landscape before us, like an unending field of corpse flowers. The smell was a deathly brew of fear, hopeless dread, and of course... excrement."
Isuzu presses her cold lips against Jakcoo's cheek as she continues her tale, her voice falling to a mere whisper in his ear...
"A sister of mine... driven half-mad by the sight before us... turned to me and smiled as she asked... 'Do you smell it, sister? That glorious aroma! It smells like victory sister.' Then she began to sing."
'Take it in while you can, on the edge of it all! Feel the wind, awake my skin. On the edge of it all, I feel it coming. Hold your breath, don't let go... I feel it coming'...
Isuzu her eyes glistening with tears... as she begins to sing to Jakcoo... the same song her sister sang to her... Isuzu sings the terrible and haunting song in all its glory after giving the wizard the story he had pressed her for...
Sylrie squinted, "I don't know, maybe, but he seemed almost as shocked or surprised. Say, why did you join the navy?"
“To serve Aundair, of course. I’ve always loved the water, and I’m a brat of a squid. My father served a Her Majesty’s Navy before I was born.” Hills says with pride. “Why, are you looking to switch branches?” She’ll ask with a chuckle.
As you look out in to the sea you see a Pod of Plesiosaurs feed off the corpse of a sperm whale in the distance, the large creature eating the even larger creature, make a bloody pool in the water.

When you start to sing you don’t notice through your tears, but they well up in his eyes as well.
”That’s the most terrifying story I think I’ve ever heard. How...wha...“ He stammers and loses his thoughts as he sits down with his back against the wall, he pulls out a flask and takes a deep pull from it. He then offers you some, “So, that’s the cost of this Great War. An eternity of endless dead on a battlefield of infinity? Here’s to living in the light whilst we can, love...”

John smiles. Thank you, Si’dell. You have a good dream. Thanks for taking care of these stables, I happen to know these are some of the bravest horses I have met. Say, you wouldn’t mind telling me why you didn’t seem to like warforged, would you? Sorry if i’m Prodding to deep, but I like to defend my father’s line of work. as Si’dell talks, he pulls out a small totem, casting Detect Poison and Disease, just in case.
And Kora, would you not say Dreams and Aspirations are one and the same? An Aspiration is something one wishes to come true, and must make it. However, Dreams are full of those, no? You have to try to make both come true, in the end, even if they are the most impossible.
"Yes, of course the words mean much the same, these are ideas of ourselves we project and then try to grow into. One of my dreams is to serve Aundair with honor and courage. But had I dreamed last night while I slept, of a great treasure under the lake, I would not dive under the waves once I woke up. That would be foolish. In the language of dream spirits, the Quori, there are a dozen or more words for dream, but in ours that you and I speak, we trip over ourselves to distinguish them. Tell me, did you dream last night? What of?"

"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

Jakcoo reels back at your tale. He has a look of fear in his eyes as you delve deeper into your tale, he pushed you to open up and now that the doors are stuck open he seems like a rat trapped in a cage.
He is pale white sand sweating a bit, sitting there he looks very childlike.

Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.
Kora to Johnathon on the subject of dreams...
What of?"
ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Isuzu
Isuzu looks at the offered flask and respectfully declines as she moves back to retrieve her bucket and dispose of its contents silently returning to the task at hand leaving the wizard to mull over the meaning of her tale...
Isuzu, a Charisma roll, please. Definitely with Advantage... ((OOG She made that song really haunting and creepy lol))

Isuzu Charisma 9
"No, I'm not thinking of switching. This is where I need to be in order to join Her Majesty's royal guard." Sylrie lowered the binoculars with his mage hand, bringing it inside the wind cloak to rest in his actual hands. "You said Served, has your father retired then Hills?"
OOC > Not Disadvantage, Oddlot, Advantage. :)
