Investigation 15

(Eh, the DC wasn’t that hard.)

Florus, looking through, you see a stuffed animal In the pocket, looking like a horse, though some of it was cut off. The dead body belongs to that of a little girl. The note changes to say ‘When done, say Aye! This note will then make sure of that.’ The knife seems to be lodged deep in her chest.

Meanwhile, Balzavur scratches his chin before talking. Well, they always need more food and supplies, so you can try to take out a traveling wagon or something heading there if there is one.

"Thanks for the tip, we'll return when this is done." I follow Leto (and Dresh?) out and head back to Jailkeep to tell Florus about this matter.

((Maybe about lunch time?))

Getting back to the Jailkeep, Leto will head to the kitchen to grab a snack, and a glass of wine, saying "At least this place is stocked..." tossing a morsel up to Hulud he'll look around and ask Krwa and Dresh "Where do you suppose Florus got off to?"

perception: 13 - Does Leto hear any noises? Or at least notice that the note is missing?

Leto notices that the note has gone missing, and that must mean Florus is busy with the game. 

If he were to go up there, he would see that the door is locked, and that there is an Arcane Ward placed on the door with a strange symbol, and so knocking it down won’t do. It will probably open after Florus completes his task. (Or with a good fire damage roll from Dresh’s breath, an Eldritch blast, very good athletics check, etc.)

(I’m still there, just not doing much because I’m tired and can’t write a good response. I’m just existing now honestly.)

Seeing the door Leto will sigh and say, half to himself "What has that fool gotten himself into?" He'll then try to knock on the door with his staff and loudly say through it "Florus! You alive in there?"

Also - arcana check on the symbol: 17

(Leto doesn’t know enough about certain spells to identify what symbol this is. It looks like a combination of many. If a different spell caster were to try to identify it, they may be able to figure out what amalgamation of modified spells this is.)

((Fair enough. I didn't take arcana proficiency anyway. Went history instead~))

I examine the door and symbols as well, wondering if conventional lockpicks would work. Arcana or Investigation roll = 15 

Krwa investigates and cant even figure out what even a smidge of the symbo, is, due to her lack of magical know-how. She looks at the doorknob and sees it has been petrified.

(in all honesty I had this planned out for when you entered so you wouldn’t leave.... but you left Florus all alone, so that happened. Oops.)

 ((I'm glad you're still just doing it anyway. Decisions gotta have consequences. Following magical notes alone may not be the best idea in the future. Mental note :P Let's just hope he replies that he's alive to Leto soon~))

Dreshckles runs up and blasts his fire at the door point blank in order to break it down, ( I’ll assume no attack roll is needed and that the door cannot make a dex save)

(So, so, so, so close.)

The door takes a heavy beating. The breath almost knocks it off the hinges as a deep glow springs from it. Your Breath Weapon almost chars the door to a crisp, but it still stands. And then it starts to heal back up.

Leto finally recognizes two of the spells used to ward this door. A modified Heal, which he has seen on a magical item in his past, though never seen the effects, and a modified Glyph of Warding spell, which he has seen some people use to protect their houses. It seems as if you almost had it, but just barley failed, and that to get in without Florus finishing, you’ll have to destroy it, and even then it will put itself back together eventually.

Whoever created this ward must be an extremely powerful caster, and a diverse one at that.

Leto steps back watching Dresh breathe literal fire at the door, and then seeing the door regenerate itself, thinks to himself "Well.. if Florus is alive in there, he certainly heard that." adding to the group "We should stick together for a bit. We don't want anyone else trapped in their room."

Pulling the knife out of the doll florus will move back "what an odd request, aye!"

I find a chair and wait for the magic users to get the door open: "We can try keeping the door open with this chair. I'll wedge it in once you two get things opened."

Leto is leaning back against the wall, lightly holding his staff in front of him waiting for something to happen, or to hear Florus respond. If he doesn't respond in a couple minutes he'll likely see that Krwa and Dresh are waiting for something to happen, so will sigh, and then start casting Eldritch Blast in an attempt to break the door in.

If needed, blast rolls:

 ((I'd like to see if anything happens taking the knife out. It's possible the ward will drop, or Florus will say that he's alive. So I'm not jumping to get in the door until it seems nothing else will happen))
