Feeling a little upset that Vassa gave up so easily, Elon puts his full attention on the PI with a sinister smile "Well since you know my....association and its reputation then you also know that we can make a good business partner in you career or much... the opposite" Elon waits for a response hoping that knowing the Black Network would be enough for him to reconsider. "Favor for a favor. What do you say?"
Intimidation 8
Vincent stands up, "Favor for a favor you say?" The detective walks over to his window and spends a few moments staring outside, "Sometimes, I have to turn down jobs as I'm only one person. If you would agree to handle a future job for me, as a favor, then I could see providing you with this magic item, as a favor." Turning back to the duo, "What do you say? Would the two of you be willing to trade favors?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"What was that...thanks Bason." The cleric looks down at the scrapped bird and then at her companions as there attacker ducks into the Temple.
She smirks. "Good work Kestrell. By Mystra, it looks like your spell worked. So what are we waiting for....after him!"
Pheadra starts running towards the door into the temple, pulling out her mace as she runs.
So what have you gotten yourself into now Pheadra. Telling Vassa that you would just talk to the priests. I bet everyone else is just talking but us...I knew these Gondorians would be crackpots. Damn I said Gondorians.
Phaedra looks around to see if she can spot there attacker as she runs.
" Where are you from, Kestrell? Certainly not the Sword Coast or Waterdeep if you don't know those two groups."
" I was born.....well, not born....but raised in Waterdeep myself."
" What were you doing before you got involved with this lot?"
" No secret groups, just the Guild of Watermen."
"No, not from Waterdeep. A little village far to the north of here. I'm just passing through Waterdeep, looking for a Cobbler actually. A place called White's Boots. Have you heard of it?"
"Before I came to Waterdeep looking for these boots, I was hunting, mostly for wild, evil creatures that live out there, looking to bring harm to people. Got to tell you, though, I felt more safe out there then I do here. Don't much care for the city."

" You went all the way to a city for a cobbler? Whites Boots? Hmmm, let me think on it......theres the White Bull....no, thats a tavern.....Company of the White Wyvern....no....Oh! Theres Thentavva’s Boots....they're really pricey though....but high quality.....hmmmm"
" So you spend most of your time out in the wild? I was found just off the road between Mirabar and Luskan by my Dad, cold as ice I was he said and almost of a size with him even as a bairn. He was on a trading run and he and his partners dressed me in their clothes and wrapped me tight and fed me on ale and mash until they reached Luskan and were able to get milk."
" Dad always said the plan when they got to Luskan was to hand me to one of the temples, but I snared his heart and he couldn't let me go. And with him and mum not able to have....well, she got a big suprise when he arrived home with me...a very big suprise."
" I grew up here, I like it.....but I like being at sea more. Mum asks me now and then if I want to search for my birth family, but I've no time for folk that would leave a baby on a hillside in the wilds. I already have my family."
" Watermen....well, Waterfolk....are in charge of all that happens on and under the waters of the Harbour and loading and unloading of all ships."
" Um......the tower is around here somewhere I think...."
Phaedra runs for the front door of the temple and pushes it open.
As you throw the door open you see that you're in a sort of foyer area of the temple. About 20 feet in front of you are another set of double doors. To the left and right there are single doors, each about 35 feet away. To your left is a pair of what you assume are priests (one female dragonborn and one male gnome) both staring at you. To your right is a single priest (female human) sweeping the floor.
The female dragonborn sees the emotion on your face and takes a step in your direction, "Are you ok ma'am?"

Sel and Kes find themselves standing outside a tower. The sign reads Tower of the Order in big letters. As you enter in you find yourselves in a small sitting room with a receptionist desk in front of you. The desk is occupied by a older male elf who looks up as you walk in. "Good afternoon citizens. How can the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors help you today?" he asks in a well rehearsed singsong voice.
"Hello! We are looking for my buddy, the powerful mage, Barny Blastfinger. Has he returned yet?"
"Barny who?" the elf says in confusion then recognition crosses his face, "Oh! It's you! Mage Blastwind told me about you! I thought he was joking. Apologies. I've been ordered not to allow you entry."
"Hello! We are looking for my buddy, the powerful mage, Barny Blastfinger. Has he returned yet?"
Selinae put her face in her hand, " Kestrell, Dear, um.....wasn't it Blastwind?"
She raised her voice very slightly, " I suppose as a famed hero and scourge of evil in the north you have heavier concerns on your mind than your good friends name."
She turned towards the older elf fixing him with wink and a brilliant smile, " It is imperative that we speak with him, there may be lives at stake."
" The public face of the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors, you must be an important gentleman indeed, Mr......?"

" Well, time to head home then.", Selinae said with relief.
Kestrell turns to Selinae, "Famed hero and scourge of evil in the north. That also has a nice ring to it."
Back to the elf, attempting to Help Selinae in her Persuasion attempt: "Yes, very important, er, imperative. We don't have to come in, if you could just let him know we are here, I'm sure he'll come down to see us."
Smiling at the banter between the human and goliath the elf replies, "You two are such a sweet couple. Penlador Cromviel is my name. And while flattery is appreciated, I still can't let you in. Inspector Blastwind left strict instructions not to be disturbed and to not let you," staring directly at Kestrell, "beyond this point. Which is rare actually, you must have really gotten under his skin. Now, I'm sure you'd like more information on a crime or you want to fuss because it not solved yet or some other very worthy reason. But see, I like my job. So I'm not going to disobey orders. But I tell you what, if you head over to Balthorr's shop, it's one block over nearly directly behind our tower, and tell him I sent you. He'll give you a discount and you can buy something for your sweetheart." And with that Penlador goes back to his paperwork.
Bason will keep his shield up, but put this axe away. He will scoop up the remains of the mechanical bird. He follows Phae in.
He will say to the priests as they speak. "Oy! Someone on your roof just sent this thingy to attack us! They just ran back inside! They should be glowing still, I think. Right silver?"
" Thankyou, Mr Cromviel.", Selinae said giving Kestrell a pleading look.
"Well, if you would pass on this message, for me. Tell him that the Eagle Crows at Midnight. He'll know what to do when he hears that."
Kestrell turns to leave with Selinae. As they walk out, "Why did he think we are a couple? Strange. Should we go see what kind of shop Balthorr's is? I suspect Barny will be in touch shortly."

" Lets go see the shop, you didn't have a lot of interaction with people while fighting monsters out in the wild did you?"
" Come along, Kowbell. Lets go shopping.", she breathed.
