"There's a good kitty!" Kestrell takes out a ration and feeds the sausage to Elsa.
As he strokes Elsa's fur, the images of the dead halfling children from the fireball try to pop into his head. Kestrell shakes his head to clear it and forces himself to compartmentalize those thoughts.
After a bit, he goes back upstairs to wait for the rest of the group.
The rooftops appear clear as you wind your way through the streets and to the temple. The House of Inspired Hands looks like a cross between a temple and a workshop. The symbol of Gond, a toothed cog with four spokes, is displayed prominently. As you walk inside you see that you're in a sort of foyer area of the temple. About 20 feet in front of you are another set of double doors. To the left and right there are single doors, each about 35 feet away. To your left is a male gnome, sitting at a desk sketching something. He looks up as you walk in. "Welcome to The House of Inspired Hands. What can a worshipper of Gond such as myself help you with today?"
With a side-ways wink at Elon, Vassa sweeps upp to the gnome and says with a too-wide smile upon his face,'
"Greetings, my fine Gondorian friend! My name is Assav Solartautologist. If you would be so kind, you can assist us with two things, actually. Firstly, a pair of our associates came here recently inquiring about puppet people... wooden constructs of some kind, I believe. Could you please point us in their direction.
Secondly, I have come into the possession of an unusual item that I would like more information on. I'm not entirely sure what it is, whether it's magical or something else. I was hoping that perhaps you learned folks here at the wondrous House of Inspired Hands might know and be able to assist?"
Pulling the tube with the handle from his belt, Vassa waves it carelessly about in front of the priest, before spinning it around on his finger to offer it hilt first to the gnome for inspection.

"Good evening Assav, I am Histix an acolyte of Gond. I believe your friends are upstairs with one of the priestess. I'm afraid I don't have anyone handy to guide you to them and I cannot leave my post, myself. You are welcome to wait here for them if you'd like." Reaching up and taking the item offered he turns it every which way, inspecting it. Then he lays it on his desk and looks back up at you. "This appears to be a Lantanese pistol. But without the bullets and smokepowder it is useless. With those items, this is a deadly weapon. We've wanted to procure one for the temple for some time but they most difficult to come by. I don't suppose you would be interested in selling this item?"

Bullets and smoke powder? I believe that I did acquire a small quantity of these materials when I acquired the item. A deadly weapon you say. How so? Phaedra sighs at Valetta, "So it does have something to do with the Temple but not what I was expecting."
She ponders for a moments, moving to one side as they bring the boxes up. "Maybe if Nim can help us you could... be more lenient on him? Is there any way you could track or help us try to find your creation Nim, any way at all?" She looks back at Valetta, "It really is of most importance. Either this creation has went crazy and is attacking whoever it feels like, or and this is what I am most worried about, some other person or group is using Nim's creation and taking advantage of it. Getting it to do their dirty work and dirty work it is indeed. Murder."
Phaedra lets that sink in for a second. "Either way we must stop it and sooner than later. If this keeps up you may find that the Temple has others calling in and for all the wrong reasons."

Hearing Phaedra ask about tracking the other nimblewright, Nim goes back into his room and returns with an 1-foot-long copper contraption with an umbrella-like metallic protrusion at one end.Nim hands it to Valetta and then starts signing to her again. After a few moments Nim stops and Valetta nods her head, "Calm down Nim, I'll tell them." She turns to the group and says "Nim built this device to find the errant nimblewright and tried to seek it out, only to discover that he couldn’t leave the temple grounds. To activate the nimblewright detector, you must hold down its trigger. When the activated device comes within 500 feet of a nimblewright other than Nim, the umbrella begins to spin, whir, and click. The spinning, whirring, and clicking accelerates as the distance to the target lessens, reaching maximum velocity and volume when a nimblewright other than Nim is within 30 feet of the device." Valetta sighs and the looks imploringly at the group and then her gaze settles on Phaedra, "I can tell you are a devout follower of one of the gods yourself. So you no doubt understand how difficult and important it is to make sure nothing negative is associated with your temple. My knowledge is from scrolls and 2nd hand, and sometimes 3rd hand, accounts only. I know that you'll put the bullet and smokepowder into the pistol and then when you aim it at someone and pull that trigger mechanism the smokepowder erupts in a violent explosion forcing the bullet out of the gun. While it's smaller than an arrow it will fly much faster and tends to cause more damage. But alas, I've never used one so I'm not sure how to operate the weapon. If you would be willing to leave it here with some of the smokepowder and bullets I'm sure that the other acolytes and I could figure it out and write up a full instruction manual on how to use it."
"Yes Valetta, Nim. Thank you. We have every intent of getting to the bottom of this and making sure this errant nimblewright causes no further damage. And know that we understand that these actions have nothing to do with the clergy of Gond, by the will of Our Holy Lady of Mysteries, the divine Mystra, I swear to you we will do everything in our power to end this and clear your good name."

Selinaes eyes flew open, " Really? So we're both? Oh................your making fun of me aren't you?"
" My mother is not lascivious, she's just a very pretty lady who teaches art and homecrafts."

Listening attentively to Histix's words, Vassa's curiosity builds considerably. The bard picks the pistol back up, holds the strange weapon up to one eye and peers down the empty tube before taking out 1 small packet of powder and a ball bearing. Weighing the apparently dormant but potentially deadly components in one hand and the strange weapon in the other, the half-drow performer seels clarification in his usually verbose manner,
"Absolutely fascinating, Histix. So let me get this straight, your admittedly limited knowledge not withstanding. The ball and powder go into the tube, and then some magic inherent in the weapon, a piss-tool I think you called it - a rather unfortunate name by the way, ignites the powder and the ball shoots outwards at great speed? Similar to a metal arrow head being fired from a tiny bow, but without the rest of the arrow attached? Simply incredible!
I would certainly consider your offer, my good man, though I would need reassurance on the specific terms of the agreement. While I'm not currently willing to sell this rare and marvelous item, I appreciate your temple's divinely inspired fascination with such things and am sympathetic to your genuine desire to study it. I consider myself something of a budding scholar, though not a exceedingly knowledgable one at the present. So it seems that your offer to borrow and study this piss-tool for a period in exchange for providing me with a treatise on its operation is not entirely unfair, though since I'd be assisting in the expansion of your entire temple's knowledge banks, something 'extra' may need to be thrown in to convince me to part with it, even temporarily.
I must say that you've been absolutely invaluable, Histrix, and I do greatly appreciate your assistance and candour, but perhaps I should be having the remainder of this discussion with your high priest or another ranking member of your clergy? I would hate to get such a promising acolyte as yourself in any sort of trouble for over-stepping his mandate, though I'll be sure to mention your role in this exchange to your superiors. I'm not a religious man myself, but I'm passingly familiar with how such organisations tend to operate."
