Kestrell looks around. "Alright, to recap" and then starts to tick things off his fingers:
"1. Earlier today a Fireball exploded outside our door, killing a dozen people, mostly innocent kids."
"2. The Gracious Pie from down the street sold you a mysterious necklace that shoots fire balls. You think it is the necklace used in number 1?"
"3. The clockwork tinkerers guild made a Nimwit, which is some sort of contraption that thinks on it's own and goes around shooting fireballs before giving it's precious necklace up to the Gracious Pie."
"I really feel like I'm missing something here. Did the Nimwit drop the necklace of fireballs after using it on those kids?"
"You missed have the points Kestrell. The Nimblewright at the Temple of Gond, not nimwit, made a second nimblewright. It was this nimblewright that is the crazy one and we think is the one that attacked us. It used the fireball necklace but must have dropped it."

Anyone who's lived in Waterdeep for a few years has inevitably seen nimblewrights in some of the various parades. Those are more simpleminded automatons that do as they're told and do not think on their own. Nim is unique in that regard.
Elon walks over to Kess and puts a hand on his should and smiles, "the necklace was obtained by the P...I...as in private investigater who was searching the crime scene just as we were. I will owe his a favor for it"
He turns to the group and goes silent with though then, "its possible the nimblewright didnt know what the necklace would do and freaked out when he did it and dropped the necklace in fear."

From the description given of the Nimblewrights actions on the roof would Selinae be able to determine what lies in the direction it fled? Its not the brainiest of bots and probably headed straight ' home'.
Quietly considering the information that Phae and the others had related, Vassa nods good night to Raener before speaking up in support of what Elon is telling the crew, "Elon's right. We had to trade a favour for a favour to our friendly local detective, Vincent, to secure that necklace since we didn't have the coin needed to purchase it. He said he'll let us know when he wants to call in the debt... nothing more specific than that, though he ruled out asking us to kill anyone. The man is primarily a purveyor of secrets, so I dare say that when he wants to obtain a particularly obscure or sensitive piece of information, that's when we'll hear from him.
Vincent found the necklace in a rain barrel next to the building that Kes climbed up onto. As you can see, the clasp is broken and Vinnie figures that the puppet pers... the nimblewright dropped the necklace from the roof after the deed. Our neighbourhood PI might be a little shaddy, but I think that the intell that he provided is good and that the fellow is not personally involved with the attack or the gang war. He works for rich nobles like Mrs. Hornraven, so I assume that his professional reputation means a lot to him.
Great work on gaining the tracking device and information from the Gondorians by the way. It seems like we have at least a few options here - a. we can wander the city searching for his second nimblewright with the use of the device Phae's holding, b. we can try to trace the necklace and hope that leads us to the nimblewright or the person who gave the necklace to it, OR c. we can try to get more information from another source - Raener, the Harpers, the Watch, the Order of Magists and Protectors... or maybe the Zhents or Xanthar's Guild themselves."

I meant in character. 😂 Sorry for not being specific. But it would be AMAZING if we could get everyone online for a couple hours simultaneously. Fire up a discord chat while playing. Maybe one of these days.
In two or three hours I'll post the whole "it's a new game day". Lots of things happening! It's exciting! I can't wait!!!!!

OOC: Should we assume they communicated that to the rest of us, or did they? I may well have missed it.
If so Selinae will cast her mind to what landmarks, streets and places lie to the east and if any stick out as places a clockwork creature may run to.
Eventually you all turn in the for the evening to get what sleep you can. For some the horror of the day makes that difficult but eventually sleep comes for you all. You're woken the next morning by someone in the tap room shouting for you all to wake up.
For whomever goes down to check first, you find Renaer pacing around the taproom. "Hey, sorry for waking you but I got news, get your group together."
Once everyone is present, "Again, my aplogies for waking you all, I know you had a long day yesterday. But my informants came through. The description of the man seen fleeing the crime scene, the burned man? He's be identified as Urstul Floxin. They say he's a suspected member of the Black Network. But here's the kicker, I have heard from a witness that they saw this man sneaking into Gralhund Villa last night. They went to the City Watch because Urstul looked suspicious. You with me so far? "
Renaer looks around making sure everyone's paying attention, "I've spoken with the Watch Commander. He said two City Watch constables spoke to Lord Gralhund and he assured them that no one had broken into the estate and that everything was fine. But the constables didn't have grounds to get a search warrant, so they didn’t pursue the matter. And why didn't they have grounds? Because they didn't know that he fit the description of the man who fled the scene here yesterday! My gut is telling me that the Gralhund's are hiding him."
"That's great, Renaer. But how does this fellow relate to the nimblewit? Or did the nimblewit have nothing to do with it and this Yourstool fellow was the one who shot the fireballs and dropped the necklace?"
Before going to bed the previous night, Kestrell cast [Tooltip Not Found] to sense whether any aberrations, celestials, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, or undead were present within 1 mile.
OOC:
Yes, that's a good idea, getting everyone together. I'd be down.

Renaer shakes his head, "To be honest Kestrell, I don't know how the nimblewright and Urstul fit together. But it's Urstul that I believe stole the Stone of Golorr from Dalakhar and that stone is the key to recovering the stolen gold."
OOC: Your Primeval Awareness ability doesn't detect anything.
{Backing up a little bit} Bason would have chatted with some of the priests of Gond about smithing. He would tell them about the equipment he made himself and ask if it would be possible to come by some time later to chat more. He wants to make a new still so he can make some harder liquor for Trollskull Manor. {Flashing back to the present.}
Bason stays up for awhile messing around with his equipment in the basement. Not really making anything, just cleaning and organizing. He passes out in the basement near his equipment, where he tossed and turned throughout the night. He had nightmares. A different building, a different explosion.
He wakes in the morning and just starts messing with his brewing equipment again. Hmm, some of my new friends have darker connections, maybe they'll be able to find out something about that fire.
He hears someone calling everyone upstairs, so he heads up and listens to Renaer.
Selinae rubbed her temples, " Schmooze our way in the front door or a small group of us sneakier types go in quietly? Or something else?"
Bason will say "I'm not much of a sneaky dwarf, especially with my armor on. I would prefer the direct approach. Of course, we could do both. Some of us talk to them up front while others sneak in the back? There are several of us who could be good distractions." To Kestrell, he'll say "Won't that doohickey thing-a-ma-bob tell us if the Nimblewright is there?"

"I still want to know why the pie guy gave or sold you the necklace. That seems suspicious."
