While the others are attacking the thug to the south slips back about 10 feet to the south.

Breez leads Vassa and Bason through the door to the left and into the hallway. As they walk past one of the statues Vassa pauses to inspect it but doesn't find anything of interest. It appears to carved from a light colored stone and seems solid. After entering the hall way the party travels north as Breez suggested. They make it about 30 feet up, crossing past the locker room when suddenly they hear the sound of crossbows being fired. A bolt flies into Breez hitting him in the arm while the second hits the wall near Vassa.
They turn to see 4 guards had been positioned inside the locker room waiting for them. The two that had just fired were now running toward the group while the remaining two are aiming loaded heavy crossbows at them.
Attack: 3 Damage: 7 Attack on Breez is successful

Focusing his attention upon the guard that had struck his companion, the half-drow sends the painfully irritating sound that attacker's way.

Seeing Kest move toward the stairs, Elon begins chanting arcane words as sparks start dancing between his eyes with an audible crackle and the smell of ozone fills the air. Elon brings his hands together with a ear piercing boom (Thunderwave)
A wave of thunderous force sweeps out from you. Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d8 thunder damage and is pushed 10 feet away from you. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't pushed.
In addition, unsecured objects that are completely within the area of effect are automatically pushed 10 feet away from you by the spell's effect, and the spell emits a thunderous boom audible out to 300 feet.

OOC: I completed this post in phases and it seems to have jacked up the dice results a bit. Breez's init was 23 and his attack was 17 and his dmg was 6. Thug's wis save was 15, Thugs' con saves were 5 and 9, thunder dmg was 10 and 11.
Dice rolls that changed every time I added to this post.

Breez, sensing something wrong, turns just as the arrow takes him in the arm. He then immediately runs toward the nearest thug, guard, or whatever they are and launches a double handed jab with his quarterstaff straight in to the man's throat. No sooner does the staff hit than the thug grabs his head and attempts to scream.
Top thug takes a combined 12 dmg. Bottom thug takes 12 dmg
Once Kestrell is out of range, Elon says the incantation and slaps his hands together. The boom splits the air in front of Elon and both thugs go flying backwards away from Elon. Both crash into something 5 feet away and fall to the floor prone.
The northernmost one takes 10 dmg. The head thug takes 11 dmg. The southernmost thug was out of range.
Vassa, still unsure of the need for this battle and hoping to deescalate the situation before anyone get's killed, yells at the guard in front of Breez, "Okay, okay. You've demonstrated your flour power, now how about you give up on this half-baked attack before someone gets REALLY hurt?"
Then, noticing the blood dripping from Breez's wounds, the bard points at his ally while saying sardonically, "You okay there, old bean? Probably should get that looked at by a professional, but in the meantime, take this, get some rest tonight and call me in the morning."
[OOC] Vassa will move 15' to stand behind Breez, cast vicious mockery on the guard in front of Breez as his action (wis save 15 or 3 psychic dam and disadv on next atk) and then cast healing word on Breez as his bonus action for 8 healing.

Both of the thugs Elon blew over stand back up and charge at him. Thug 2 is just a bit faster and gets into the hallway first. He swings his mace at Elon but Elon sees it coming and doges. However, thug 1, seeing that he can't each Elon, draws a dagger and throws it at him and catches him in the shoulder. Elon takes 3 dmg. Thug 3 (southernmost) continues running south.

The two thugs engaged with Breez and Bason both attack but our heros are able to dodge out of the way. Looking at the tempo of the battle and then each other, the rear thugs both break for the exits. Thug 3 (rear northernmost) flees through the door to the north. Thug 4 (rear southernmost) flees through the door to the south.

Vassa steps up and casts vicious mockery causing 3 dmg to the thug in front of Breez. Vassa follows it up with a healing spell helping Breez to recover 8 hp.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Kestrell turns around and realizes Elon didn't follow him after letting off that massive boom.
"Damnit!"
Kestrell runs back up the stairs, stops ten feet behind Elon and readies a rapier attack. If Elon runs by, and one of the thugs follows, Kestrell will try and wack him with the side of his rapier to knock him out.
"Ohh did you hear that Silver...that boom. That sounded like it was magical in nature to me... I wonder if they are in trouble" she looks at Silver, holding a finger up to emphasis her point for him to stop talking.
"What do we do... ohhh I wish someone could message us. Do we need to get the guards? What if it has nothing to do with them? They could be dying down there or... we could alert the town watch to the fact that most of our companions are breaking into somebody's property!"

Breez attacks the thug with a fury previously unseen. Before the thug can recover from the quarterstaff blow, Breez follows up with a kick to the midsection that doubles the thug over and then a kick to the head which knocks him out.
Vassa, preparing to cast vicious mockery immediately switches his target to the thug in front of Bason causing 3 dmg to the thug. Vassa follows it up with a healing spell helping Breez to recover 8 hp. (OOC: rolls were above in 1334)
Bason having just deflected the thugs attack, launches his axe forward and, at the last moment he turns it in an attempt to hit the thug with the flat of the blade. However, this throws his aim off just enough that he misses the thug as he's recoiling from Vassa's spell.
Attack: 18 Damage: 5 Attempting to capitalize on Bason's miss the thug swings his mace back around (with disadvantage due to Vassa's spell) and hit's Bason hard in the side causing 5 dmg.
