Martin can tell that Gash generally wandered west but he seemed to be taking a path so convoluted or random that it is difficult to tell where specifically he was headed. It will take a little trial and error to pick up his trail again. (Give me three more survival checks at disadvantage.)
The first direction Martin tries is unnervingly in the direction of the temple but it becomes clear that Gash did not go this way after walking for a few minutes. He doubles back and tries another street. This one turns south and passes by a park. Indeed, Gash has come this way, it is clear, and he is thankfully moving away from Gentoa and her mother. In the near distance, he hears a woman talking and what sounds like Gash replying to her.
“Althus, I know this is confusing right now but you are under the effect of a vampire’s charm spell. It should dissipate at dawn, when that mist over there finally gives up the ghost, as it were. The charm is powerful. You are compelled to think that an undead monstrosity, Garielle, is the most trusted friend you’ve ever had. You don’t believe me right now, I know. But I believe you are devoted to your god, and when the charm spell dissipates, you are going to see things more clearly. Quite honestly, I am too tired to really fight you anymore, or try to knock you out into blissful unconsciousness. One of the vampire’s final curses has made me blind for a little while. But you probably will try to fight me. Just know you can leave if you want, and go chase after something you think this friend asked you to do. Or try to put the shattered coffin back together. But soon you will get clarity. I encourage you to sit and talk with me, or to wait a few more minutes to just test out the possibility I am not lying to you.”
Dog is sitting, cross-legged, almost meditative. It’s the most comfortable way he has found to deal with this new blindness, and he almost finds it calming. He will do the bare minimum to defend himself should Althus attack him, or take his things, but he will not try to stop Althus from leaving.
Dog will try using the sending stone once he has a spare moment with Althus not there. No rush, just a note for later. He’ll try to ask her if she is okay and in the room, and tell her they foiled a trap set by a vampire though not without some costs, and will return after dawn.
Althus shakes his head at Dog sadly, "I don't know why you'd lie to me, I thought you were better than that. You can't just try to murder an innocent person and then rob their home without consequences."
Althus goes over to the larger pieces of the coffin, moving them closer together. He'll then heal himself (Lay on Hands, 20) and leave the room, looking for some type of glue or adhesive to put the coffin back together before it's too late.
(I believe Dog would have gathered much of the loot into his bags by now, minus the stuff in the chest he bashed open and he became blind - I’d said he’d been gathering the stuff in a few posts before now.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Well, Tock will make his way back upstairs and will discover Althus missing. He will say to Dog that he has not rested, otherwise he would be able to cure his blindness.
Then he will dismantle whatever Althus built and scatter and hide the pieces. After that he will hide in the corner and observe. Stealth check: 18
Had Dog successfully opened window shutters in the house? If so he will ask Tock how close to dawn it is, and ask for his friend’s guidance to make his way to an East-facing window to await the first rays of the sun, before Tock hides in the corner. He’ll also ask how the mist is doing, where Bulwark is, and if Althus managed to put the coffin back together. He will also ask if he should use the sending stone to check on Nev and Genny, just in case. If not, perhaps Bulwark could go check on them, since Martin has not given an update on his search for Gash.
"Begrudging Acceptance: I... If that is what you wish." Bulwark slowly gets up. "Imploration: Contact me in the event you require any assistance." And with that, he begins making his way out of the house, in search of Nev and Genny.
(If he doesn't know where they are off the top of his head, he asks Dog before he leaves, to do otherwise would be a tad silly.)
As Althus searches the house for something, anything, that can help him save his mistress, the feeling begins to fade. It isn't so much that he forgets what he is looking for, it is that he comes to a slow realization that trying to fix the coffin is a futile effort. A pointless effort. An unnecessary effort. A...counterproductive effort. As he returns to the coffin room, somewhat sheepishly, he finds Dog testing his vision, which is just beginning to return.
Meanwhile, Gash has found himself distracted by a city watchperson, who seems to be intentionally distracting him with a brainstorming session to try and locate Gentoa and Neventi.
"You could hire a messenger boy," she says.
"I wouldn't know where to send him," Gash says.
"Perhaps find another wizard with a locating spell."
"Where do I find another wizard?" Gash says with an edge of frustration. "I'm trying to locate a girl and her mother, not another wizard!"
"Maybe a magic item?" she says.
"How much is that going to cost?" Gash says.
Two burly city watch show up and the watchperson talking to Gash holds up her hand to keep them at a distance while Gash is not looking. "I'm sure your...uh...patron will be happy to cover the cost."
"Hmmm..." Gash says. "I would hate to offend her. But I do have some items I might be able to trade or sell..."
"Great, great," says the watchperson. "We should find a magic shop, then."
This goes on for some time. Martin watches as the situation devolves and then the city watchperson manages to rescue it somehow, reining the frantic goblin back in. She is quite good at her job, it seems. At one point, the two burly city watch decide to step in, which only agitates Gash further. They have been walking and brainstorming for well over an hour and it is quickly turning into a confrontation. And then, something changes.
Garielle's hold on Gash begins to slip away. Where it once made perfect sense for Gash to locate Gentoa and Neventi and introduce them to Garielle, it starts to make less and less sense. The pleasant feeling of rapture slips away and is slowly replaced with dread. Martin watches as Gash's demeanor changes. The goblin looks at the three city watch surrounding him and he gulps...
Martin uses the sending stone. “Found Gash. Looks like he’s finally acting more normal. A couple of guardsmen found him too, but it’s going alright so far. I’ve gotta go help explain. Where should I meet you?”
Martin then approaches with hands clearly visible and off weapons. “Ho there. I see you found my... somewhat loopy friend. Are you alright Gash?”
Gash breathes heavily. "uh oh boy. this is embarrassing. Excuse me, Mr. Watchperson. You've been very kind. More kind than most would be. My name is Gash, though sometimes I tell people its Gregory. Gash is such a harsh sounding name, it scares people but you weren't scared of a crazed goblin yelling after a woman. This," he points to Martin,"is one of my friends. I'm much more calm now, and if you don't mind, I'm going to let him take me for a rest..."
(ooc: boy was I at a loss, I didn't prepare sending I basically only had offensive spells at the ready.)

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
Althus rubs the back of his head with a lobster claw, mildly embarrassed.
"Ah, yes, I think I'm back to normal now. I apologize for my... erratic behavior. Something that Garielle did made it difficult to think straight. Did you manage to find anything of her plans, once Gentoa and Miss Neventi were brought here?"

Dog is sitting alone in the coffin chamber when he hears Althus wake up. He is rustling in the corner where he was left.
Althus:
Althus can untie his feet and remove his gag without problem, although Dog seems to have noticed him.

Why did Tock leave the room with Bulwark?
(I rolled to see who was in the room, since nothing was really explicitly stated. So...you get to make up the reason why!)
Tock went to gather up the contents of the last chest. Did anyone mark it down already or should I?
Althus shakes his head at Dog sadly, "I don't know why you'd lie to me, I thought you were better than that. You can't just try to murder an innocent person and then rob their home without consequences."

Tock will do those things and answer to the best of his abilities, but suggest not using the sending stones.
Also, what would be Tock's idea on how close to dawn it is?
