'Eyes blazing and white hair billowing about his head like a localised blizzard, A'ro grasps at the crawling spiders with his lightning enfused hands but is unable to make lethal contact with the tiny swarming creatures without risk of discharging his contained spell energy into the wildly stomping and swinging bugbear. Frustrated in his attempt to again zap the writhing insect horde, the scowling sorerer can do little more than step back from the dangerously raging bugbear as the elemental glow fades from the genasi's violet eyes and snatching hands.'
OOC > Here is Orlys' Round 2 action, results spoilered for all the people who go before him (which is everyone), and in case he is taken down by the spiders and it is moot.
Barely noticing the actions of his comrades, the giant bugbear continues to smash and stamp the tiny spiders, all the rage from his imprisonment, his fear, and his exhaustion burning in him.
Continuing: Rage! for this and eight more rounds. +2 dmg, resistant to b, p, s dmg, adv on Str checks and saves Action: Attack with the maul. 11 to hit, for 11 bludgeoning damage Move: No move, he stands his ground.
OOC > Fudge. Is a nice food. Sigh.
'Indifferent to the shrinking size of the large fey spider swarm and all-but oblivious to the actions, effective or otherwise, of his new companions, Orlys is blind to everything except the wretched crawling and scratching sensation covering over his thick hide and matted brown-black fur. Driven beyond reason by his current and all-consuming need to crush, destroy, smash and kill this enemy entity, Orlys's wild kicks and hammer swings barely miss his nearby allies, but prove largely ineffective in harming the tiny fey beasts that still seek his downfall.

A'ro watches the two climb, glad to the crew members make it safe to the top.He then looks to the bugbear "Aye do what you want - if you need a ship after this we can talk to our captain. He mentioned something about needing some more crew. I just want to make sure that those three are safe before we do anything else, this way we can at least accomplish the primary reason we came into this god forsaken cave."
"Hopefully there's not a mind flayer in there also." He says jokingly as Kestrell heads into the room "The jobs done friend, we were hired to get the book to the woman, and a request was made for the use of the potions. We were hired to do the business of the captain not our own, I'm willing to admit when we took on something over our heads and these creatures proved to almost be fatal to the lot of us. We are just lucky that we are almost back safely."
With that he just stands between the rope and entrance to were the mushrooms are, standing guard and waiting for Kestrell to return with the mushroom or scream as he died. Either one signaling time to climb. He just taps the book in the bag on his chest "Listen everyone up there - if something happens I'm going to tie the rope to the bag so you can get the book back. I want you to haul it up and return to the old woman with the book. Don't worry about the rest of us down here. Your safety is more important, Virt as the officer I expect you to ensure that the Captains request is carried out and that he gets his package in time for the voyage. That's only if something really bad happens though, I'm talking like Kestrell gets his head bitten off and I only have time for one thing."
'From atop the ledge Kay calls down to A'ro, a bit weakly,' "Y'sure you'll all be a'right without us? I may be knackered but I can still cover from behind with the crossbow..." 'She considers continuing on, but then remembers Bosun Drannick's warning about obeying an officer's commands first. She swallows, then nods before saying softly to Vaken.
"I know the Bosun told us t'follow orders even if they be mad or daft, but what about conflicting orders from two different officers? Something to ponder I'spose."
'Regardless, she unslings the crossbow and checks it over once more before loading it with a normal bolt. And waits for Virt's instruction.'
A'ro just nods"Tha'ts fine Kay - we just don't need anyone dyin' over a ****in' mushroom. If something happens we'll at least make sure this damn book gets where it needs to be."
