"Monsters? Where did —" The blonde stops speaking as she realizes what Whispers is doing. She watches the cleanup with an interested — but not surprised — air. "Neat trick." She gets up and crosses to stand casually beside Whispers. Not looking at her — watching the room, actually — she asks just above a whisper. "Fighting monsters. Performing magic. What are you, some kind of hero or something?" She turns and gives the other a sly grin. "Maybe a villain?" Up close, Whispers can see the other female is young. Probably not even 20 yet.
Whispers shifts eyes up at the girl, "Or something."
She glances toward the doors Ilia is likely somewhere behind then back to the girl, "What about you?" she asks, fiddling idly with the arrowhead hanging from her neck. It's deep red, a stone or crystal perhaps, formed like ancient arrowheads that were chipped away to make the shape.
"Neither," the blonde says with amusement, not bothering to be quiet anymore. "Both have a death wish, if you ask me. I can handle myself," she says, cracking her knuckles. "I have my own tricks. But mostly, I'm just trying to stay alive. Watch my back. Stay one step ahead." She watches Whispers glance toward the doors again. "Your friend gonna be OK?" she asks sympathetically.
As the two of you get know each other, a few hours pass. Then the doctor directs you to a room. You see Arcon lying in a bed, with an IV bag hooked up to her hand. There is a somewhat bloodied bandage wrapped around her eye.
The doctor says "She'll be fine. She seems to be really strong. I expect a full recovery within a month or two. She'll be discharged from the hospital after about a week of observation. However... I'm afraid her eye is... gone. It was beyond saving. There was nothing we could do about it. We tried, we really tried but it was just too damaged."
DM: So, what kind of look do you want Arcon to have now? Do want her to always wear an eye patch or maybe you'd prefer a fake glass eye like the one Minene Uryu from Mirai Nikki got? There's also a cybernetic eye but that costs WAY more than the party can afford
(Just how much would the materials cost to make an artificial eye? She's not filling her head with glass balls, so she'll have to be content with an eyepatch for now.)

Well... Since having a cybernetic eye will give you a permanent +2 to Perception... (or some other feature of your choice) so...
6,500 Currency (GP).
This includes everything from buying the item, the surgery to put it in and the hospital bills and the recovery time and every other expense that might be involved with having a cybernetic eye installed.
While you are all in the Archon's room, the TV that was playing a old recording of some concert from a time before The Event, abruptly changes programs and the words "Breaking News" flash on the screen. A pretty fit and handsome man with short black hair, a blue suit and a black tie appear on screen.
"This just in, there was a explosion in Hive Street and the abandoned Johns Hospital collapsed right afterward. The cloud of dust released when the hospital along with a part of the ground collapsed has caused serious casualties in the area. Due to the influx of the homeless in the area, the death toll from the collapsing building and the subsequent smoke cloud is predicted to be high. We will now go to Ms. Jennifer Fey who is reporting from the scene."
The image cuts to a scene of Hive street. There is a large hole in the ground where the hospital used to be. The nearby buildings are all covered in dust and there are few people dead on the ground. Large fissures can be seen on the roads. A woman in her late mid to late 20s with long dark hair wearing a white tank top underneath a partially zipped blue jacket stands among the destruction. She says, "Thank you Marcus Morningstar. This is Jennifer Fey of the The Evening News (yes, that's the name of the news station) reporting straight from Hive Street. The building that was once the Johns Hospital is now gone..."The camera moves to show a the burning wreckage of the police cars. "The buildings around the hospital also collapsed when the ground gave and the hole swallowed the up. These cars were hit by the explosion that had occurred just before the collapse and were set on fire." The camera moves again to show some buildings with broken windows. "The dust cloudnot only caused those who were outside respiratory damage, but it also broke many of the windows of many buildings." A man who seems to be relatively fine walks by the camera while coughing a bit. The camera pans again as Jennifer interviews the passerby, "Excuse me sir, did you see the explosion and collapse of the building? Can you share a few words about what you saw?" The man stutters a bit and says, "I was just at the local restaurant, minding my own business when suddenly I heard a loud BOOM. Then I looked out the window and saw the form of the hospital sink. A cloud of dust hit the window and cracked it. I managed to take cover before the glass shattered. I managed just fine but the waiter was hit by the shards and fell to the floor. The customer in the table next to me coughed uncontrollably. I think she got dirt in her lungs. The owner called an ambulance and tried to patch him up. I gotta go. I need to see how my wife and kids are doing." Jennifer thanks the man for his time as the man hurries off. "You heard the man folks. Though he didn't see the explosion he definitely heard it. The paramedics on the sight have already told us that about 12 people have been hospitalized already and more keep coming up." The camera then catches the form of Enforcer limping to somewhere. His power armor is cracked and badly damaged. There are splatters of blood on it, some of the larger splatters, his own. Jennifer runs to interview the hero, "Enforcer, I heard you went into the hospital before it collapsed. Can you tell us what happened?" Enforcer grunts and speaks though pauses and labored breathing. You can hear the pain in his voice. "This... was not a mere accident. Our officer, Jerome Jones was sent here to investigate a noise complaint. Last we heard of him... he... went in to the hospital to investigate. That... was the last we heard of him. Then we get the call... a civilian called us to say they've been attacked by...mutant zombie things.... I tried contacting Officer Jones but he didn't pick up so I went there... with Officer Guy and Officer Jim to see what was up. I wish it was a prank call... There were indeed mutant zombie things in the hospital. We cleared the section and breached the lower floors where the zombies seem to be coming from... There we found it, Dr. Morgue's lab. We learned Dr.Morgue, a villain who died during The Event, used to work as Dr. Franz Fressier in Johns Hospital. His lab, being left unattended, encountered some problem and was automatically creating these zombie things."Enforcer sighs a pained and angry sigh. "Then... The "hero" Speed Blitz ******* showed up. He wanted to blow the lab up, the maniac. I told him it would cause a lot of damage and that Officer Jim wouldn't be able to get out before the lab exploded... but the ****er wouldn't listen and went off about some pretentious bullshit about the "Greater Good" and activated the self-destruct failsafe anyway... knowing full well that neither I nor Jim could get out fast enough. He would have gotten away too if Jim, that glorious bastard, didn't shoot him in the hip and stop him from running. The building blew up. Jim died and Speed Blitz... he's in pieces." Enforcer seems sad, "This... none of this would have happened if Lawman was still here... he kept these uppity heroes in check and prevented them from doing something ret arded like this." "Thank you, Enforcer. The paramedics are waiting to take you to the hospital." Jennifer turns back to look at the camera and says, "There you have it folks. That's the story of the Johns Hospital Collapse as told by Enforcer. This has been Jennifer Fey of The Evening News. Back to you Marcus." The handsome man reappears on screen and says, "Thank you Jennifer. The report from Jennifer Fey concludes this breaking news. We will update you on any future information on the topic. I am Marcus Morningstar from The Evening News." The screen then cuts to black while an obviously per-recorded voice says, "And now, back to your regularly scheduled program"
(OOC: Huh. Apparently, the site censors the word "Ret arded")
Thinking about Creature again, and his sacrifice, Ilia closes her eye, and tears well up and spill out and down her face. She cries silently for a while, before she notices a burning sensation behind her eyepatch. She puts her hand beneath the patch, then takes it out and examines it. It has blood on it.
"Crap, I'll be back in a minute."
Ilia then rushes off to the bathroom.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Ilia looks back at Kat and grins. Her eyepatch is off, and the empty socket where her eye once was is showing. She is washing blood off her face, which runs down her face like tears.
"Yeah, I'm good. Just crying blood. Nothing to worry about."

DM; Don't bother. This Episode is complete and you will get a long rest (a few months worth) when the next chapter starts.
Ilia smiles drunkenly, and Kat notices that her remaining eye is dilated way betond normal.
"I've got all the drugs, Kat. Aaaaall of them."
Her smile fades away.
"You look funny, Kat. You're all wibbly wobbly woobly. And... and there's two of you. But... other you is blonde? She has pretty hair..."
And with that, Ilia trails off, content to just stare blankly, neither awake nor asleep.
