Talon: The light seems to make the darkness move away. So when you approach it it flows away and reveals wood panel with silver tunes written on them. They are dragonic (so anyone who can read will be able to see that these are letters in random pattern.)
With the religion check you believe that there are two differents gods involved. The one with the silver lettering and the one covering it. Which gods you are not sure.
Talon would let out an excited squawk when the darkenss moves away. "Runes!" He would shout as he points the tip of the crossbow at the silver figures.
Joshua looks for a stick/other long item on the floor (failing that will use his rapier) and poke into the darkness, seeing if anything is hiding in it or if it is alive (unless it all moved away when Talon approached)
As no one seems to speak or read any dragonic Noche will say " I can translate, these are just random letters but maybe they can be moved and combined. "
Assuming that the light from Talon is allowing the runes to be visible Joshua will touch them with his hand. If the darkness isn't there he won't touch them as he can't see what happens
Joshua's above average intelligence means he can quickly move them into place. (if I'm seeing it correctly, b top left g on the right and f on the bottom)
Joshua takes some time with the help of Talon to rearrange the runes. Thanks to Noche the message is clear.
"Cast the Light to open." A single rune which Noche points towards seems to have come a bit off the whole structure. If you press it nothing happens and it comes back to the original position.
(Nice work on the door guys! I was thinking that we needed to find information somewhere else to solve this. Thanks for the addition of a puzzle GamoRust!)

(Can Tait discern anything about the random pattern; i.e. is it code, scrambled words, a reference to something, etc?)

Tait. It seems like a puzzle but you don't have the whole picture yet
Joshua. You poke at it but it's not alive. It doesn't recoil or anything
"This door looks creepy and has those scary runes on it. Maybe we should go the other direction?", Hoyle asks his friends.
"Runes aren't my area of expertise. Mostly I just stand in front of stuff and exchange blows."
"I think we need more information before we can do anything about these runes. I think Hoyle is right and we should go another way for now."
Arric looks closer at the runes, and if Talon mentions the gods, would try to rack his brains over anything that might make sense at this door.

but can’t really remember anything. There’s just too many gods to remember all of them.
As no one seems to speak or read any dragonic Noche will say " I can translate, these are just random letters but maybe they can be moved and combined. "
Joshua will see if the runes move. Or if they react to being touched in anyway. And then let Noche translate

Will Joshua put his hand forward or use light to show the runes?

Ok. When Talon approaches the light the darkness moves away. Then you can touch it.
This is what you get.
All the boxes have runes and they can be moved. Tell me how to fill the black area and Noche will tell you what is written.
( Hope you don't mind the little puzzle )

Hearing that, Talon would cast light on the door itself, hoping to that it will open as he bounces up and down in anticipation.
If the door doesn't open after Talon casts light. Joshua will press the rune again
