The demons grin. "Whatever way you prefer."

Amnesty raises her hand to stop Fionn and let's out an annoyed growl but gives the demon a small smirk, lightly grabbing his chin and forcing eye contact. "You're funny. You see... We're not going to kill you. Just hurt you. A LOT. So... you can make it easy and tell us what we want. Or we can do it my way. And trust me. I am NOT in the mood to play nicely anymore." She glances back at the rest of the group. "Lace a daggers edge with holy water would you? Not a lot. And Fionn. Keep him alive please."

Intimidation if needed: 7

Ember is continuing to investigate until she hears the front door close.

"Those are most prudent pieces of information to share. I thank you, and offer my word the mayor shall not learn of your intelligence from my lips."

"Such dealings, where discretion is of the utmost importance, are... were a familiar playground for me. I do so miss the intrigue of court politics" Delanra slides a note of enthusiasm and piqued interest into her comment, before dropping into the lower husk of subterfuge as she glances about before continuing on. "It is terrible, the effort that goes into keeping such plans secret until their fuition must go woefully unrecognised by so many of the pawns involved. Mayhap you can allow me a little insight, one mischievous machinator to another?"

Taysia is going to close her hand into a fist from behind her back, and mutter a soft phrase to cast prestidigitation. She creates a note in her hand which she then tries to sneak into Delanra's hand or pocket.

Sleight of Hand: 17

(If she chooses to read it, the note says: "His eyes are purple and I don't think they were before. I suspect mind control but I honesty have no idea. Just a heads up." With a smiley face at the end.)

The devil just smiles. "We are just pawns in the large game of chess our masters are playing. If it is our destiny to perish here, we accept that fate. But, if it is not, I dread speaking here any longer." The devil grins larger, as his body turns into shadow momentarily, the manacles falling to the ground. He turns into shadowy mist again, now on his feet. He will punch Fionn in the face (20) and will hit, dealing 3 damage.

The Lord doesn't notice the note, nor Ember, and simply smiles. "Whatever do you mean, my child of the court?" 

Amnesty growls in anger and moves to hit the demon with her quarterstaff, trying to knock him unconscious but not kill him.

Seeing the demon attack Fionn sends Thoradin barreling forward with warhammer in hand high in the air and attempts to bring it down right on the demons shoulder. "Ye be not attacking me companions less ye be done with life!"

Attack: 20 Damage: 8

The devil staggers back, and then transforms into shadow-mist, shooting through Amnesty and attempting to pin her against him (DEX check 6), but fails to. He then tries to slap her in the back of the head with the back of his hand. 12 and deals 2 damage.

Amnesty, feeling the slight sting from the demon, will turn quickly and mutter some swears along with her spell in infernal, casting chill touch on the demon. The swat on her head makes her temporarily dizzy.

Other: undead creatures have disadvantage on attacks on Amnesty until her next turn?

"Ye be a relentless fool! Why attack a girl demon ye scared of a dwarf!?" and Thoradin rushes in with another swing!

"Merely Lord, that a sliver of information, a morsel of your machinations, or a hint as to your dabblings  - omitting any specifics - would be a welcome word on my ears, for I haven't had meaningful involvement in any real subterfuge in far too long. Mayhap you can share a little about your dealing with me?"

The devil yells in anger at Thoradin's strike, enraged. "But are you scared of this?" The devil turns into shadowy mist, surging at Thoradin and casting their custom spell shadow blast. It deals 15 psychic damage and make a WIS save of 13 or be blinded by shadows for one turn.

"If it is court knowledge you wish to hear, King Estok has almost completely severed all financial ties to the east side of the Glantarna River. He's only funding the more wealthy cities, up north near the capital, on the west side of the River. There are big debates on whether, with the King's current attitude, if this side of the Glantarna should simply form their own Empire, separate from the Symphradyn. But Estok is the least of our worries. The Overseers of Krenkoria, our neighboring empire, have been asking for aid, and attempting to make deals with lords of the Symphradyn, to help their war. It hasn't started yet, but the two sides of the empire are so angry at each other...war could be waged only a few cities away at the border." The lord simply shakes his head. "It's far too complicated."

"Politics should always be complicated Saborin, if they were not so then any fool could play their hand at them and acheive some modicum of success. Better for all that it takes a mind such as ours to properly navigate the intricacies of the game. Tell me, how do the blackbound fit into all this? Surely their presence has caused a stir? Are there any ardent supporters of their cause, or could they be a rallying point to set aside minor differences?"

As Thoradin gets blasted back (unconcsiouc I'm pretty sure) Amnesty will shout quickly. "Fionn! Thoradin needs help immediately." She will mumble something else quickly and a bolt of flame will shoot towards the demon.

Firebolt Attack: 9

(( OWEEEE lol that almost outright killed Thoradin, thank god I took that blast and no one else! Do you need wisdom save even though hes unconscious?))

Thoradin sees the demon coming towards him and he places his shield in front of him, unfortunately his shield can't protect against non physical damage and he is suddenly filled with overwhelming pain from within him and he falls to the ground. It is unknown if he even still takes breath.

The devil smiles, clearly injured and tired from the attempt, but still grinning at the unconscious body. "That is just a fraction of the power the Black Sparrow holds! Just  a small fraction!"

Saborin nods. "I'd be concerned if it hadn't caused a stir. They seem to be destroying everything in this town and beyond that bears the mark of Lathander. And...paladins have been being murdered. Their cause...I have no clue. But no one in their right mind would support such a thing. Now, Delanra, do people of this land know your name? Do you have influence?"

Amnesty will frown with annoyance and move quickly to try an attack with her quarterstaff, putting herself slightly between Thoradin and the figure, her reaction prepared in the event of an attack.

The devil falls to the ground, and then turns almost into a sitting position. "Your mission will fail. And you know it."
