OOC: Thank you everyone for your application, the group is now complete and so the adventure begins.
While you are reminiscing in a contemplative state bordering sleep, you get brutally brought back to reality by the crack of a whip. "Get up vermin, the last one of you to get out gets a beating." Everyone leaves as fast as they can considering the small space they are confined in and form a single rank outside the cage. The last prisoner to come out is an amphibian creature, a kuo-toa, imposing in size and sluggishness of motion. The guards look disappointed somehow, but quickly turn back towards the rest of the prisoners: “Today’s chores will be divided in three groups: the first group will be composed of Amnesty, Razak, Buppido, Prince Derendil and Jimjar”, as he pauses, another guard guides them away,” the second group will be composed of Gwendolyn, Talike, Eldeth, Ront and Stool”, the second group is taken away, “remaining prisoners, follow me”.
Amnesty and Razak only:
Dragged away from the pen, you pass under a suspended watchtower, across a wooden bridge and down a corridor where you stop at the entrance of a hall that looks like part of the barracks. You see six beds that aren’t much more than a few planks thrown together, aligned with the center of the circular hall. There are also small chests at the feet of each of them, and side tables. On one of them you see documents laying haphazardly. On the others you see random items, you will need to inspect them closer to identify them. A single drow is sitting cross legged on his bed, in an apparent meditative state. “Alright, listen up, your task will be to clean the barracks, my quaggoth friend over at the entrance will make sure you don’t act on whatever strange idea you might get. As soon as the floor, the beds, and the chamber pots have been cleaned report back to him.” The guard leaves without a second glance back at you. As soon as he is out of sight, a small humanoid creature called a derro starts grimacing mockingly in the drow’s direction, then turns toward you: “So you guys just got your cherry popped I assume ? Not that getting treated like dirt by drows is anything to brag about, but you might want to listen to some piece of advice from yours truly. First lesson: those quaggoth might smash your bones like they are made of porcelain, but they are as lame as a dead troll. Second lesson: pocket what you can, you never know how useful an object can be, it might avoid you an untimely death. Oh, and my name is Buppido, if you ever need to thank the heavens for the guy that saved your skin.” A deep gnome steps forward: “I’m betting my pants that he will let you die with a smile on his face.” Buppido smirks back at him: “Don’t listen to him, he would bet on his mother dying, he bets on everything.” A big hulking creature gets in between the two, he is a quaggoth prisoner, but you are taken aback as he starts to speak in an elven accent: “Enough you two, we don’t have time for your shenanigans. Let me introduce myself, I am prince Derendil of the kingdom of Nelrindenvane in the High Forest. I have been cursed by the evil wizard Terrestor, who trapped me in this form and exiled me from my people. Now the quaggoth over there might be too slow to keep up but he will eventually lose patience, so: what are we going to do ?”
Gwendolyn and Talike only:
As you follow the guard, you pass across a bridge to a pen of bulky creatures, quaggoth. They are resting quietly in their pen. “See those creatures ? Your task will be to clean their pen, and I’ll throw a bonus on anyone daring enough to try to ride them,” he chuckles ”so, who’s going first ?” Several drow guards gather around the pen, excited to see some entertainment. A strange fungi creature is shoved towards the pen by a brutish orc prisoner cackling at the prospect of seeing them getting hurt. The creature; a myconid sprout, tries to retreat but is met with the pointy end of a spear. Staring intently at the 4 quaggoth inside the pen, they slowly move towards the dung, trying to be as inconspicuous as they can. Stopping in their track, you see a cloud of spores flying towards the quaggoth which then seem to move away from the myconid sprout. As they seem to effortlessly navigate the pen, the orc throws a rock straight into the quaggoth head. Mad with anger and pain, he charges straight into the myconid sprout. Hitting the fungi once (17), they manage to withstand part of the damage (8), but get ultimately smashed (8) and die instantly. The orc laughs so hard he can barely breath. "Who goes next ?" asks the guard.
OOC: Red are the quaggoth and green the dung to collect. The first dung is 5 feet away, the second 30, the third 50 and the one on the top 40. The first quaggoth has a field of vision encompassing the first and second dung, the second quaggoth has a field of vision encompassing the second and third, the third quaggoth has a field of vision encompassing the third dung, while the top quaggoth has a field of vision encompassing the third and top dung. Try to collect as much dung has you can while avoiding getting killed.
Ree'lyn and Z'ress only:
You are led to the top of a watchtower overlooking a pool of filthy water. "This is where we throw our waste, thing is, mistress Ilvara's rosary has been mistakenly thrown with the rest of the garbage. Your task will be to go down there and retrieve it. Whoever is successful will be rewarded by Ilvara personally." The kuo-toa steps forward, confident in his ability to swim. A drow prisoner whispers in your ear: "The guard conveniently avoided to tell him about the gray ooze lurking in those waters. Brave enough to take a swim ?" he chuckles.
Ree'lyn has been working on taking mental notes on the path taken, the buildings surrounding him and the interior disposition of furniture and other objects in this room.
Having heard the other Drow words, he smiles and casually replies to their captors "It is never so easy, though, is it? Do we have a time limit or something? Are there spikes in the bottom? Or is it worse?" with these words, he expects the kuo-toa will not be caught off guard.

"Thank you for the information. Might I suggest doing as instructed? I'm sure none of us want a beating. However, I'm not discouraging a little scavaging as well. That may be useful."
Amnesty gives the rest of the group a nod and moves to tidy up some of the papers and items laying about, taking the time to also investigate them, deciding how to organize them (and secretly their worth). The whole time she is muttering softly to herself in infernal. Sentences such as "Et levare non potero vobis ut in me est?" and "Spero autem sedebat in nice quod comfortable sinum vestrum comfortable salvificam." She also gives a glare at the guards to check their attention while muttering. "Quid multa meo quodam respectu esse doctrina?"

Z'ress glares at the male for speaking to her in such a way, unable to break the habit despite the fact that she was no longer a noble or technically a priestess of Lolth. It did not matter to her she had not even been in the academy a few years before she had been forced to flee. "Why would you waste us on such a task? Even being your prisoner I know it is foolish to waste high value prisoners on such a task. If my house finds out about this they may deign enough to care as I am my Matron's only daughter after a rival house failed to kill me."
You are able to mentally picture a map of the surroundings sufficiently enough that you could scribble it on a piece of paper.
The kuo-toa seem to have lost his confidence, he turns around to face his fellow prisoners: "My name is Shuushar, I am called the Awakened. Your words have enlightened my path, drow, let us all devise a plan together."
The drow guard looks incredulously at Z'ress, then starts laughing so loud it resonates within the cavern: "Milady, I apologize for the inconvenience of witnessing such a bleak place, I shall remedy to your plight right this instant." He casts darkness on Z'ress while laughing even harder.

After that, Talike slowly begins to clean up the first pile of dung. If she is able to move past the quaggoths without conflict Talike will continue to clean up the second and third piles. While she is cleaning, Talike will "accidentally" spill some dung on the orc.

Gwendolyn and Talike only:
Talike tries to calm the first quaggoth ( Wisdom(Insight): 2 ) with success, it lowers its guard, confident in it's safety, lies down, and soon enough you can hear it snore. Talike takes advantage of the sleeping beast to reach the smelly dung, picks it up and tries to throw it stealthily. The dung flies through the pen and hits the orc straight in the face with a splashing noise (Strength(Athletics): 21) filling his nostrils, eyes and mouth, incapable of determining where the flying poo came from (Dexterity(Stealth): 12).

Gwendolyn and Tarike only:
As Gwendolyn runs through the pen trying to pick up all the dung, all she manages to do is infuriate the quaggoth with her sudden movements. She is now cornered by 3 of the beasts. They all charge her: the first strike hits 18 the second misses 19 the third hits 20 the next two miss 1316 and the last hits 23 . Gwendolyn is hit three times 984, takes 12 damage and falls unconscious. You hear a whistle from the drow, and the quaggoth go back to their original place. You can hear laughter from the group of guards.
Amnesty takes a look around, but doesn't see anything worth her trouble, not discouraged in the least, she takes a closer look at the documents and finds a map of the Underdark (Intelligence: 21) and memorizes it enough to be able to draw it on paper.

"Do we have the same orders to clean this room as well?" She looks to Razak and offers him a slight smile, trying to convey a sign of protectance and alliance of the smaller creature.

Z'ress rolls her eyes at him once she steps out of the darkness. "You are brave for a male. I wonder if you are so bold around those above you." She decides if the chance comes this one will die...
Unable to find anything useful will continue upstairs. Seeing the horned woman smile at him, Razak frowns and continues working moving to a different side. Towards the bed he will pat them down and pluck any feathers that are sticking out of the pillows or mattresses; as he begins to clean them.
