Esme is able to sneak up to the side of the building and listen from inside. She can hear Aevan saying "You can't close! I met an adventurer last night who said she would help you get your stuff back." Another voice replies "Why is she gonna help me? I have nothing to offer. I can't even continue to pay the rent here. I understand your concern my friend, but I will find a new life. I am thinking about going to Westalia. Hopefully the Dark Riders won't be able to harass me there."
There is a brief pause in the conversation before Aevan says "I will offer to pay her for her services. We will get your wares back. I promise. Even if it is just me. I can't see my friends destroyed like this."
"Ah Esme! I was starting to worry that you changed your mind. This is Ralmo" Aevan gestures towards the man sitting across the table. "You mentioned last night that you wanted to get some more information. Ralmo, if you would..."
Ralmo begins to tell Esme of the night of the robbery "I was out at the tavern after a long days of work on my latest project for a noble. When I was coming home, I rounded the corner and saw three men with robes appear to exit my store. I rushed towards them, but they ran when they saw me. I lost them in the night and when I came here, I was greeted to this." Ralmo motions around the nearly empty room. The only things that remain are basic furniture and a few pots.
