OOC: Nah, not a feat I desire. I was hoping I could learn a tool proficiency since Xanathar's opened that up as an option for downtime.
Okay, I've read the write up about downtime. The character creator doesn't seem to support this (is there something I'm missing here?). You can do downtime training but you'll have to keep track of it in a note on the tool in question.
OCC Would you elucidate on “Magic and chemistry stack” please.
Aleister will fashion a torc and imbue it with Zephyr Strike and he will imbue ‘Limerick’ with Sharpen.
You have an arrow with chemical fire on it and also a spell with magical fire [spell\flame arrows[/spell]. They stack.
Zephyr strike has a range of self so it can't be cast on a torc. It has to be cast on you. It is a concentration spell so when you use it you suffer all the limitations of concentration. To activate it takes an action, it lasts for 1 minute (basically a combat) and at the end of that time if you still want it spend another action to reactivate it.

You can add a tool proficiency on the character sheet. Click the cog on the proficiencies box down at the bottom. You can then add stuff.
With that in mind, Thomas will pick up Smith's Tools proficiency.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Aleister will work with a group and train up Light Cavalry. On Mab'y'Gwynt he will practice combat from horseback, rigorously, both ranged weapons and melee weapons, until he is very good at it. Anyone else in the party has been nagged to join in the fun, the idea being we are all good at mounted combat.

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
Thomas will regularly and often practice on his completely controllable Phantom Steed. :)
He and Gamliel will practice coordinated attack methods, as well as trying out different forms for his familiar, experimenting on what shapes he can have.

Basically, every time you do something out of the ordinary on horseback - fire a bow, jump and obstacle, interpose yourself to protect your mount, hit someone or get hit - you need a DC10 animal handling check
What happens if you fail the AH roll - you fail to act? And does Thomas get advantage on such rolls, with Phantom Steed?

What happens depends on what you're doing. Jumping or being hit may result in a fall but you'd get a DEX saving throw to avoid that; attacking would result in disadvantage on the attack; trying to interpose yourself between the mount and an attack (or visa versa) just fails.
The fact that its a Phantom Steed makes no difference either way.

Can Aleister add a proficiency with the Poisoner's Kit? Three years should be enough to add some proficiency, yes?

Yes to your tool proficiencies.
Okay, since we can do two enchanted items. I'll have Sarah nab Fire Arrows and bedazzle her quiver. A girl needs a little flash.
Anymore downtime stuff?
Yes.

Hmm. Might need the Mounted Combatant feat for that. Unless there's a tool proficiency for that? Vehicles, yes, but horses?
Most ridding actions are Animal Handling based
Is it possible to gain a skill proficiency. By RAW, I'm pretty sure you can't.

Sarah joins in on the horse riding and gains more than one bruise. Archery from horseback is interesting indeed but it has it's... perils.

Given Sarah has a +1 to Animal Handling, she's not looking forward to having to use it in the field. Besides, horses can't see in the Darkness.
They can if you cast Darkvision on them.
