When all the fighting and dying has finished I note that you can cast Find Familiar. As you are a rogue your only option for a familiar should be an Owl
Familiars can't attack but they can do other actions, such as help your attack. This gives you advantage; any attack a rogue makes with advantage gets sneak attack dice. AN Owl has 60 movement and
Flyby. The owl doesn't provoke opportunity attacks when it flies out of an enemy's reach.
So it can be out of combat, then fly in and help you and then fly out without attracting opportunity attacks.
I know this well as I have a rogue character that has an owl familiar and she misses about 1 time in 20 and always does sneak damage.

As of this particular moment, Thomas has no clue about magic. No one really mentioned that profound aspect of the Change, and I'm RP-ing off that. Back in the boat, he has a book that will serve as his ritual spell book, but as far as he knows at this moment, it's just a Kaballa treatise.
Trying to sneak up and into the house, and avoid the crossbow bolts *I should get me a crossbow!* he thinks, as he uses the unusual darkness from the lack of street lights. Stealth - 26 to get inside the house unseen.
