"Well if the hostile creatures like to eat animals... I could have my familiar walk around and try to lure out any creatures that might try to do him harm while we hide and prepare an ambush.... " Thrak would say as he finishes his meal. "I mean our kobold friend might make a better decoy but I woudn't want to put him in harms way" The hobgoblin would say with a smile.

"Hold up. Let me get your logic correct. You think the seeds are getting planted then once they sprout they break free of the earth, kill live stock and run off into the forest?" He looks around the other for any agreeance. "I think I will join you for this."

You guys manage to convince one of the farmers to "loan" you a cow, with the expectation that you will pay him 5 dragons should anything happen to the cow. You let the cow roam around in the field and wait for something to happen. You all find some bushes to hide behind and wait for something to happen. As you've all gotten comfortable in your spots and ready for a very long night, Xavnan comes running up to Thrak's hiding spot and yelling, "Hey guys, wait for me, I haven't found a good spot yet." A few moments later you notice some of the bush's about 30 feet from you start shaking and moving. Instead of going towards the cow, they are moving right towards Thrak and Xavnan. Coming towards you are 9 Twig Blights.

He's hidden on that 22 stealth check, so when his turn comes he intends to shoot his shortbow from cover at the Twig Blight who is either the largest threat to the party or the largest threat to the cow.  If his cover is blown, he'll be sure to shoot one who is engaged with a party member.

"Well... It looks like I was right about the twig blights then..." Thrak would say with a growl as he points his staff towards the oncoming threat.

(Everyon is still hidden, except for Xavnan. No one is in melee range yet, the Twig Blights are 50 feet from you guys)

Xavnan realizing that he'd just ruined the ambush, watches as these dead bushes come to life and start walking towards them, takes aim with his bow and looses an arrow straight at Twig Blight 2. The arrow flies straight through the center of the Twig Blight splitting it in two. It's no longer moving. Twig Blights 3, 1, 4, and 5 move 30 feet towards Xavnan. Thrak is holding his staff pointed at one of the Twig Blights.

Thrak will begin muttering incantations in goblin as his eyes seem to illuminate with a faint red grow. After a moment three red spectral skulls will erupt from the tip of his staff as he casts magic missile towards the closest three creatures.

Darren pulls out his quarterstaff and rushes the 20 feet closing the gap between him and the twig blights, trying to get to one that hasnt been damaged and gives a swing

(Second hit was a crit and only did 7 dmg. Lame.)

Darren rushes up and hits Twig Blight 6 with his quarterstaff and splinters it to pieces. He then turns and hits Twig Blight 8 and that one splinters as well.
