This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Pip and Effort, closest to the damage, are hit as pieces of sharp wood rocket toward them. Pip takes 7 and Effort takes 8 damage.
A particularly sharp piece sticks itself into the goblins side, sending Pip keeling over as the ship breaks apart. He looks up at Effort with shock in his eyes, trying to slow the blood oozing out from the wound. The ship tips more as you both start to fall into the water. Darkness swirls around and it becomes harder and harder to see more than a few feet ahead. You can hear splashing as the beast continues its onslaught.
Effort, still bound to Pip, lives up to her namesake, pullling the goblin towards her as she fights the vertigo of the water and the feeling of losing her own blood. It takes everything she has to shove the browncap mushroom into the goblin's mouth and snap his jaw shut around it.
Cadmael, she thinks, struggling. Which way is the surface!
(totally willing to command the owl to dive into the ocean if it would help Effort orient herself)
(My two strengths! ... not XD Sorry about the delay, I had to field 7 doctors appointments for family members in 5 days this week and I'm all clocked out ATM :( )
Brask and Kurama struggle to orient themselves. The dark clouds have lowered down to the ocean's surface, and they seem to be swirling around them. They can still hearing screams and breaking wood and massive splashing, but can't really tell which direction any of them are coming from.
Effort panics for just a moment before she feels a pull from within. It directs her to the surface, and as she turns, she sees the small vessel rocking against the waves. The rope is now tied to a small piece of the ship's broken stern. As she starts swimming, pulling the injured Pip along, Cadmael flies as low as he possibly can over the water's surface. Staying just below the darkening clouds, he spots Brask and Kurama attempting to stay above water.
"There! I see them..****y sixty or seventy feet to the east of the boat." Effort feels Cadmael's pull.
"Pip... you have to get onto the boat," Effort grunts. She sweats, and casts guidance on herself, knowing that physical exertion is not her forte. (do I have to make a roll or something to get him on board the vessel?)
Cadmael... try to guide Brask and Kurama to our boat. I have my hands full here with Pip!
I think the rope would probably sever close to where it was tied to Effort. Pip isn't unconscious though. He's barely hanging on, but he's still at least somewhat coherent.
Brask and Kurama, as you start to lose hope, out of the dark comes Cadmael flapping intensely and trying to hover above the water in front of you for a moment. Then he turns and flies off.
After a few minutes of labored swimming, the small boat emerges out of the darkness. A bloodied Effort sits inside with a wounded Pip. The waves rock the boat back and forth, but you're able to join your friends onboard. Cadmael perches on the bow. The dark clouds remain, but the other sounds seem to have subsided.
As Brask peers out over the side of the small, rocking boat, all he sees is darkness. Now even the waves seem silent, only occasionally making a smacking noise as they hit the side of the skiff. There's no sign of the wrecked ship, the other men, or of the monstrous beast...though it could be a few feet away and the minotaur might not notice.
Pip coughs and grimaces in pain, but manages to reach out to Brask's arm. "I'll be okay. Stay alert." He grabs his side again and tries to shift his weight a bit as he leans against the boat.
Effort holds her side. "One of us should keep watch while the others try to rest," she coughs roughly. Then looks at Cadmael. "Can you manage this alone? We must all bind our wounds."
As the boat drifts aimlessly on the see, Effort grits her teeth. "Our fair weather friends abandoned us after we defended their ship. I am not entirely surprised, though I had hoped for better. I suspect our boat is too small to attract the attention of such a large creature, but nonetheless we must remain alert. We came here to find the last Sister, and even in this situation we cannot leave until we succeed. More rides on this than merely our lives."

If Brask is able to see what happened to Pip, he's swimming mightily towards the goblin and letting nothing slow him down.
(Kurama is continuing to swim to the boat as well)

They are equally bad, so:
Survival for Brask: 8
Perception: 11
(And just like that, Kurama and Brask got swallowed up by a sea monster XD)

(Actually, here's a DM question: if Effort Misty Steps onto the boat, what would happen to Pip and the rope tied around him?)

Swim, swim, swim, swim in the direction of Effort’s bird.
(Kurama is following the sounds of Brask's swimming and heading in that direction)

Brask is not a quiet swimmer. Brask is not really a quiet anything. Shouldn't be hard for Kurama to follow. :)

Dammit dammit dammit, Brask mutters as he inspects the injured goblin. Boats suck. Everything in this sodding place sucks.
He looks around for any sign of other survivors, or land, or enemies approaching them through the water. Perception 14
