Burik will try and strike this time with a clenched fist, wreathed in a dark mist. ( Inflict Wounds at level 3) 17 : 21 (includes touch of death channel divinity if the attack hits)
He then continues to hold his ground against the leader (unless it dies then he charges the gnoll hunter)
This time the pack lord is ready for the spiritual weapon, turning his head and dodging it. Smiling, he turns back toward Burik as the dwarf's fist flies toward his chin. Dark mist cascades off it as it connects, knocking the huge gnoll back with a deafening crack. He falls onto his tail, letting out a yelp as blood starts to spill from the side of his mouth. His jaw hangs down, broken.
After a moment, though, he gets up and half-smiles at Burik. Blood sputters as he laughs. "Nice punch, dwarf. Won't be enough to save you and your friends, though."

Brask makes no attempt to hide his glee, the rush of blood, the beating of his heart, the clang of weapon against armour: he lives for this, and feels more alive in battle than any other time. He raises his maul high, attempting to bring it down on the head of the flesh gnawer before him:
Attack: 22
Damage: 6 + 6 + 4 = 14 total
He breathes deeply as the blood splashes across his front, and draws on his own strength to heal 6 (second wind).
The flesh gnawer's body goes limp as it's blood sprays out of the gaping wound Brask has just opened up on its head. It crumples into a pile, the fingers and ears of its past victims lying still on its chest.
Burdan lets loose an arrow at the cultist who is attacking Brask from the other side...
Attack: 13 Damage: 10
The half-elf finally connects, sending an arrow so hard into the cultist's chest that it knocks the robed figure back to the ground. He convulses as he dies on the cold rocks.
The pack lord looks up, unamused. Snarling, he continues to lunge at Burik with his glaive.
Attack: 24 Damage: 13
Attack: 25 Damage: 12
He howls at his last remaining companion, attempting to incite a rampage. (recharge on 5-6): 6

This time the blast connects, sending the gnoll hunter flying back. He skids off the ground for a moment before rolling up onto his knees. Despite cuts and scraps across his arms and side, he pulls out another arrow and notches it. His scans the field of battle and decides the easiest shot is still the hulking minotaur out in the middle of the fray.
Attack: 11 Damage: 10
Attack: 7 Damage: 3
One of the arrows sticks into Brask's thigh as he starts to square off with the pack lord.

The first shot with his maul cracks the pack lord across his mid-section. Brask enjoys hearing his ribs snap as he falls to the ground. As he's getting back up onto his feet, he rears his head back to roar in defiance...but the roar never comes. Brask's second attack brings his maul down to the head of the bloodied gnoll, caving in his skull. It crunches under the weight of the minotaur's weapon, and his limp body crumples onto the rocks.
The gnoll hunter's eyes widen, realizing he's now terribly outnumbered. He starts to back away, but Burdan sends another arrow toward him...
Attack: 21 Damage: 6
It stinks into his side, just above his hip, and he lets out a pained whimper.

Cadmael will once again give Brask advantage on his next attack.
Effort will aim another Eldritch Blast at the Gnoll Hunter: Attack: 23 Damage: 6 force + 5 necrotic
She will then use her movement to run full tilt 30 ft forward, stopping behind some cover if she can, but not prioritizing it as her goal is to get as quickly as possible to Burik. (Actually if it died, she'll just keep running and use her Healer's Kit to stabilize Burik when she reaches him.)
The gnoll hunter will disengage and use his full movement to sprint away from you. As he races rather nimbly through the rocky landscape, Effort's blast of energy catches up with him, exploding across his back and sending him face first into the rubble. He doesn't move.
Effort quickly goes to work stabilizing Burik. His wounds are deep, and look serious, but attending to it quickly saves him. He stabilizes.
The fight is over, and there are blood-stained rocks everywhere. The bodies of these gnolls and their human cultist lie strewn about. You tend to your wounds as the night carries on. After awhile, it starts to get quite cold. Burdan questions whether it's wise to build a fire, but decides at this point you have to. With your wounds and the dropping temperature, he'll take any associated risks that come along with a warm blaze. You crowd around as Burik slowly comes to, looking around confused as to what happened.
We killed them, Brask says informatively as Burik comes back to consciousness. I reckon there's more, though. We're gonna rest up then get back to hunting. You're good, right? he asks Burik, but he knows the dwarf to be a fierce fighter and doesn't doubt that he's still up for the fight.
He assists Burdan in building and lighting the fire, as best he can. He waits and lets the others search the dead bodies, knowing that it's not his greatest strength to find small hidden things. Instead, he sits by the fire, enjoying the warmth and tending to his many wounds.

Catching the clues and pointed stares of the others, Effort proceeds to search the corpses for any valuables or clues. Cadmael, assist me, she asks, relying on the owl‘s sharp eyes to help.

Your bird looks tired, says Brask helpfully as he picks bits of gnoll flesh out of his fur and tosses them into the campfire, ready to take second watch.
You slowly work through the bodies, searching for anything that might be useful. Of course, the weapons are obvious. A scimitar, some shortswords, a longbow and a few arrows, and the glaive from the pack lord. The gnolls don't have much else of interest - bits of makeshift armor and some dried meat. The cultist, however, was carrying a pack along with him that has a few pieces of parchment.
As Effort looks through them, she finds maps of Oshait - the different regions with markings in various cities and villages. Then she finds something with more text. It appears to be a list of some sort. She scans it, reading it to the others...
Yelhorn - Redguard
Xandar - Lovilra
Promise - Gorta
Murmur - ???
As for the night, it passes by uneventfully other than the occasional chilly gust of mountain air.
Furry one is smart,Cadmael observes, ruffling his feathers.
"Not just the bird," Effort says wearily to Brask as she makes her way through the corpses. To the Gnoll Hunter, she extends a particularly irate hiss -- he was fast, and his body is very far out. She gives it a kick for good measure as she finishes her search and trudges back to the others, weapons bundled in her hands.
Dumping them at the feet of the others, she kicks the loot around. "Free for the taking. I'll have the scimitar and the longbow if no-one else wants it; I've no skill with them, but I'm sure they will fetch an acceptable price in a town of reasonable size, and we certainly could use the gold."
The, she unfolds the maps and the paper with the text. She reads it out to the others, brows knit.
"So... there are contact names, as well as cities they seem to be associated with. Someone named Yelhorn is in Redguard, Xandar is in Lovilra, Pro--"
Her words cut off, and her face abruptly darkens. She's quiet for a few moments, the paper between her fingers crumpling slightly as her hand curls into a fist.
"... I'm fairly sure I know who the contact in Gorta is," she says after a moment. "... and lastly, someone named Murmur... seems to be unassigned. Can anyone make any sense of the other names?" she asks, passing around the paperwork. She's only half listening to the responses, though, as she remains silent, and her features are dark and brooding enough to give Burik a run for his money.
"The names mean nothing to me, but then I've also not spent much, if any time, in those places." He thinks a while before, "Perhaps that one is Murmur? And the parchment to be delivered via Gnoll-mail when they find somewhere to set up?"
Are there 4 marks over cities (that correspond to the 3 places already listed)?
Brask grabs the glaive. Yeah, might fetch a few silver. He swishes it around in the air a bit. Big dumb pole. Meh. Who fights with a pole. Got no weight to it. He straps it to his back anyway.
Yelhorn, Xandar, Promise, Murmur. Nope. Not a damn thing. What kind of a name is Murmur anyway?

The two wounds to his side are worse than he thought. Burik tries to put pressure on them as his eyes go blurry. He falls to the earth, motionless.
The howling works, and the gnoll hunter leaps off the boulder and charges at Brask, stabbing at him with his spear.

Cadmael will give advantage to Brask's next attack roll.

Brask roars with fury and charges the pack lord:
Attack: 22 Damage: 15
(*sigh* again, logically that must be a 1 and a 2, so I will re-roll both: 2 4 - add 4 and that's a total of 11 damage)
Brask is not done. He slams his maul down again, with an action surge:
Attack: 19 Damage: 10
(Also, that first attack roll was a 19, so it was a critical - as Brask is a champion fighter. So the additional damage dice are 3 and 4)
