Watlyr seems rather quiet while the others talk with the dwarves. When they ask for aide clearing out the site, Watlyr takes an interest. "We should be able to assist with that. I don't think we need to worry about the payment of our aide until the task is completed. We should go and see what we're up against though."
<<If they are slow, attacking them with rangen weapon would be the best way to do it, but for that we would have to be able to see them. And Herman Waltyr and myselfe are not quite the rangen type of fighter.>>
Looking at Salazar Kelden says
<< I haven't seen you in a fight so far big guy but you also don't look like one of those. If we want to do this in close combat maybe we can seperate them somehow. I think It's worth to take a look and decide on the best Strategy when we know more about the conditions down there >>
“It’s also important that these guys pay no mind to shocking and the occasional cut, I’d even go so far as to say my great axe will be useless, though I do have a plan B for these scenarios.”
salazar makes a fist and stares at it.
”oh they also kinda do that thing, you know that thing where one thing splits into two things and so on. What’s it called.”
<< So swords and axes will be useless and our advantage of having the numbers is a relative thing if those creatures can split in two. I guess we can find a way to get them from the distance, that would be our best bet if they are as slow as you said. I just bought a couple of javelins before we left Phandalin, if I get you right, they dislike beeing pierced by metal just as much as we do. Salazar, if you need additional ranged weaponry, I guess I would have enough to share for this fight.>>
The more pleasant dwarf leads you to an open entrance into the next area.
A partially collapsed, ten-foot-high wall separates this courtyard from the settlement west of it. Three heaps of rubble are piled high in this area. Hewn from the canyon’s back wall, a thirty-foot-high temple facade features steps rising to a stone platform. Cut into this facade is a ten-foot-high open doorway flanked by crumbling, life-sized granite statues of cloaked dwarves. Evil grins can be seen on their weatherworn faces.
He points out two mining tools that might function as adequate weapons. "Feel free to take those picks if you think it would do you better than your swords."

”oh that sounds like! Uh? What did Marco used to call it? Okra Jelly?”
(I’m assuming that’s what we get from the arcana check? If not I can edit it.)
Check gets you the name and the stats.

Kelden turns towards Salazar. <<So you have heard of those... things? Do you recall anything that might help us defeat them? >>
"Jelly?," Waltyr asks with some confusion. "What kind of threat is jelly?"
“Well they’re slow, and not very smart. But they pack a modest punch and can take a hit. If there’s only one of them it’ll be easy enough.”
(would I know resistances and immunities?)
[[OOC: Yes you know resistances and immunities and special effects.]]

Waltyr nods. "Is there any easy way to rid the area of these... things?," Waltyr asks with interest.

Waltyr nods. "Knowing the area would definitely help."
[[OCC: DM, what time is it right now? Is it more like late afternoon or later in the night?]]

"Gross," Waltyr offers. "Can I punch the thing?"

Herman is not very skilled from distance but
'' I have two axes.. Better than nothing, let's try''
Waltyr looks to Kelden and says, "How useless are the axes?" Waltyr gestures toward Herman's axes.
Kelden turns to Salazar giving him an expactant look.
“I have a couple javelins myself. But axes and swords will be completely useless.”
Kelden turns to Herman
<<Better take something else then. Since Salazar doesn't need any, you can have a couple of javelins if you don't have some yourself.>>
Kelden turns to the dwarfs:
<<We will clear your excavation for you under the conditions we agreed upon. Would you be so kind to Show us where we can enter the tunnels?>>
