”I don’t think that is a bad idea for the moment actually.” He give his halfling brother a grin in return, but the gets serious. “Those metal plates will make a lot of sound and they did say there might be ambushes along the way.. but don’t worry, I’m going to teach you to be a rogue!”
Roscoe nods and says, "yous are right. Mayhaps we's keep it on until we know it's time for the sneaking. We's are used to being without the metal coats anyways."
As they leave the city, Roscoe enjoys the open air as it reminds him of his own life in the tribe. He reflected on the family he'd left behind and his ancestors that came before him. He wondered if any of them had joined up with an army when they had their leave. There had been plenty of fighters in the tribe but he struggled to recall anyone that looked to fight like the soldiers around him.
He checks his two battleaxes and grins. It had been a bit since he'd used them and he has yet to use both at the same time on a real enemy. He'd practiced plenty against wooden posts and the like in town but flesh always reacted differently than wood.
Rosri takes a few seconds to look through Rollo's pack, but cannot seem to find anything resembling a map or a key...however, he is sneaky enough not to be caught...
Gaston leads on, riding his Ram.
"The Canyons are this way. We should probably move along them first, staying at a safe distance. Then I know of a good hidden path upwards. It should lead us to a good vantage spot....So, is it true everything people say about you folks? You fought a bunch of those Hyena Monsters in the Shadowveil? What about your rumored friend, this Dog Knight? Pebbles the Brave? Not gonna lie, a lot of people in town are talking...I'm just curious me'self...Here, have a drink on me, just because we're at war doesn't mean we have to be gloomy at all hours of the day and night...especially since one of me best friends just got murdered last night...(he looks down, mutters something in Thieve's Cant...)
He uncorks a flask that he pulls out from under his shirt, pours out a few drops on the floor and says "This is for you, Florence...the Old Charriot's best..." Then takes a swig of the flask, and passes it around, as the group is making its way down the Three Peaks and through the Granit Valley. Rollo just stares blankly, silent as usual...
Anyone that takes a swig of Gaston's drink gains advantage on CONSTITUTION saving throws to resist fatigue and weather conditions for the next 1d4 hours...
Also, everyone roll a Survival Check. Edeleth, roll a Land Vehicle proficiency check (using Wisdom as your attribute bonus)
"Sorry about your friend," says Edeleth as he accepts the flask and takes a drink. "We traveled with the Old Charriot to Three Peaks, but I didn't get to know many by name." Any, actually. He had asked the old fortune-teller's name but she had never answered. "Rosri, Roscoe, did either of you know a Florence?"

Edeleth perfectly steers the wagon down the Three Peaks, and halfway across the Granit Plains. Gaston has the outlander background, so you travel safely all day.
As the Sun starts to set, Gaston finds a grove of Oak Trees near a small lake. "We should camp out here for the night. I usually sleep in this spot when I'm out on fishing trips..."
In the middle of the grove, Gaston unveils a small wooden trap door, hidden under a pile of leaves...
"Come on in..."
He walks down some stairs, disappearing into the ground...
Edeleth stays above ground for a while, getting the animals unharnessed and fed. He hopes they will be okay up here on their own. That trap door definitely looks too small to squeeze a mule through...

Rosri accepts the flask and takes a light swig from it. “Yeah I did.”Rosri say with a raspy voice. “He was the one who let us in to the Family. He and I was getting quite close on the road. I didn’t even hear of his passing before I spoke to Gaston before leaving.” He look out on the snow covered scenery. “I was supposed to meet up with him in three peaks but kept pushing it up. To Florence.” He say with a tear rolling down his cheek and take another light swig.
Rosri follow Gaston down the trapdoor, glad to get away from the weather.
Roscoe grows somber as he mentions the loss of his friend. He accepts a drink from the flask and says, "To Florence! May he ride with the great beasts across the open fields." That's what he'd heard others say in his tribe so figured it was as good as anything to say in the moment.
Always excited to check out new places, Roscoe climbs through the trap door after taking in the scenary in the grove. This place was wonderful. He would have to come back some day when he could actually stay and appreciate the natural wonder.
After caring for the animals, Edeleth casts Speak With Animals. He warns them that the people will be spending the night underground, and asks them to not wander too far, and especially to avoid walking off cliff edges in the dark. Also, they should keep watch, and if they see anything dangerous approaching, to stomp on the wooden door and make a lot of noise, so that he would know to come to their aid.
In his experience, sheep were incredibly dimwitted, but he thought the mules ought to be able to remember his instructions. And perhaps these sheep were a brighter breed than Lomalos's fluffy wool factories.
He then joins his friends. Underground is not his favorite place to be, but he is quite curious to have a look at the hidden dwarf shelter.

Everyone steps down into Gaston's small hidden shelter. It is actually quite comfortable. Thick rugs cover the dirt floor, and six actual beds are scattered throughout the single room. A chest lays next to one of the beds. Gaston pulls out a small key, and opens it, pulling out a whole leg of lamb and a bottle of wine...
"Ha! I knew we'd have to come through this spot, so I prepared it yesterday...Enjoy the dinner, it might be our last one...or at least our last decent one for a while, at best."
The hideout is pleasant enough, and Edeleth helps himself to a share of the meat and wine. Now that he doesn't have his hands full with driving, he observes Rollo closely.
Since Zyman hasn't shared any information, Edeleth decides to make his own medical exam of the dwarf after the meal.

As the Party rests and dines on Gaston's secret stash in his hideout, still keeping an eye on the enigmatic and lethargic Rollo, the rugged but friendly Corporal chats along...
"You know, when we built this little shack 200 something years ago, me, Ruskor and Shorgreg, we never thought it would be used for war purposes..."
He suddenly goes silent...
"Did You hear that?"
Anyone with a passive perception of 15 or higher hears noises, coming sideways...through the earth...sounds of shovels, pick axes, and voices...high pitched and in hushed tones, but many of them...
Edeleth, who had been planning to rest soon, plotting various ways to deal with the possibly mind-controlled Rollo, and realizing that the shake-up of his spell list he was planning would leave him seriously underpowered in any skirmishes on the following day, quietly puts down his cup of wine and draws his blades.
He presses his ear to the wall, hoping to hear the approaching diggers more clearly.

Upon hearing voices and digging sound Rosri pick up his crossbow and readies an action to shot. “Get ready! S-something is c-coming through the walls!”
Roscoe watches with confusion as they others mention hearing voices. He quietly hoped they weren't going crazy and he wouldn't have to return them to the earth...

He wondered what could be inside the cache that was so important that the guildmaster wanted it so bad thaf he offered Rosri a invisibility potion..
