OOC: Are Ilithid's undead? Because if so, that creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against Zyman's spell save DC, and only hits on a success, if I read his Among the Dead special correctly.

With cold calculating fury, he twirls his fingers and speaks the fell syllables that haunt him in his nightmares, as he casts hex on the mind flayer, wanting to impede his powers over the mind by confusing the creature.

As he starts to see the darkness take hold on the mind flayer, Ozymandias reaches deep within himself, and unleashes an eldritch blast in the direction of the monstrous form before him.

Spectral warrior protectors looking quite similar to Roscoe swarm the mind flayer after Roscoe's attack lands on the creature. When Rosri is blasted by physic energy, the protectors do what they can to protect Rosri from the attack and reduce the damage by 5.
Mechanics:
Roscoe uses his reaction for spirit shield reducing damage taken by Rosri on the pysic attack.
Spirit Shield: If you are raging and another creature you can see within 30 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to reduce that damage by 2d6
Also, since I forget how this character works... Roscoe has his ancestral protectors swarming the mind flayer. While raging, the first creature you hit with an attack on your turn has disadvantage on any attack that isn't against you (doesn't apply to the cone spell I believe), and when the target hits a creature other than you, that creature has resistance to the damage dealt by the attack.
