Lucia says with another yawn, "Well... given that most of us can't see in the dark, I think it would be better to attack during the day. Usually many of the base's inhabitants would be outside doing various jobs like mining or hunting and we won't have to worry about someone turning the lights off on us. We will have to watch out for any artillery defense like mounted crossbows and mini-ballistas that they might have. At night, they won't be able to use the base's artillery defense but there will be more of them and if we might be in trouble if they have darkvision and we have to fight in darkness." Overall, I think the risks of attacking at night out-weigh any benefits the disabled artillery might give us"
Lucia says, "Maybe. I don't actually know what the base looks like or how it is designed. There was barely any information on the base and the ones that were there weren't even very strong. In fact, the base might not even have artillery but I thought it might be better to plan with it in mind."
Maybe we could hire a spy of our own? A professional so we do not have any mishaps like we just had. In the meantime, you need to sleep. You look exhausted.
Its end of day right? Or is there still some day left for Tomoe to venture out and perhaps discover firearms at some part of the market?

Ranger's Blaster: Range: 90/200 Dmg: 1d12+DEX Clip size: 12 Jam: 10 Cost: 3200 GP Weapon Properties: Reload; Two Handed
Fire Watch Peace Keeper Model 42: Range: 50/100 Dmg: 1d12+DEX Clip Size: 6 Jam: 11 Cost: 3500 GP Weapon Properties: Reload; (Can be dual wielded if you have Crossbow expert)
Ammunition: 50 Bullets costs 20 GP.
Also the shop keeper will inform you that there are more fire arms but they can be found in The City of Haze as they are more popular there.
Firearm rules are not posted. I will say them here and will copy it to the campaign page later.
No class starts with firearm proficiency. You need to gain it by either following the rules for learning them as listed in Xanathar's guide or you can use my homebrew method for this campaign. The homebrew method includes a secondary xp system which increases each time you use the firearm. Once you have made 150 attacks (hit or miss) with a firearm, you gain half-proficiency. After that, if you make 300 more attacks, then you are now proficient.
While using a firearm, if you roll a nat1, I will roll a d12. On 6, I roll a d6. On this d6, if I get 1-5, the firearm jams. On a 6, the firearm jams and also the power source discharges, doing 1d4 lightning damage to the user.
EDIT: Also I added a new number to the upper list of fire arms. The Jam values is the DC of the check to clear the weapon if it jams.
The Hand Ballista, Auto Bolter and the Model 42 are like pistols and can be used with one hand (though you still need a free hand to reload them). The Marksman's Blaster and Ranger's Blaster are rifles and need two hands to use.
Also I don't think my own firearm rules are that complicated. I just made it sound worse than they are.
Well, most of the extra rolls are yours to make so along as you dont mind I dont.
I'll start with the auto bolter. Seems like a good place to start. Jam seems risky but maybe not. Clip size seems a comfortable size to not have to waste too many turns reloading.
Alright so you've bought the Auto Bolter and bullets to go with it.
As a warning with using it and any one-handed firearm with a clipsize larger than 1, you can use it while holding a shield. However, once you're clip is empty and you need to reload, you can't do it while holding a shield.
If you get stupid rich at some point, having 10 one-handed firearms would be a way to get around not being able to reload while holding a shield.
Be careful with hunting for bandits. That's the kind of thing that will get bigger fish like Ao Oni or Bronzor chasing you. Razorback is fair game though since it has become clear that Razorback is not really a bandit clan but a fraction of a much larger group of monsters.
Do want a random encounter like you always get when going monster hunting or do you want to revisit the wooden fort that you found back in level 3 or something?
Or is there any specific place on the map that you want to check out?
Razorback is what i meant. Don't want to get the big fish on my case.
The wooden fort, with the creepy death monster? Ill pass. Random is fine. Mystery would cast her mage armor when we leave the city if she hadn't already .

You could take a look at the gunslinger and its firearm rules. It's pretty good and not over complicated.
Anyways, can you tell me the difference between them? Like, are they rifles being 2handed or pistols being single handed?

You buy the Auto Bolter. Bullets sold separately so I'm going to assume you buy 50 of them for 20 GP
