Lucia asks Tomoe, "So Chief, what's the plan today? It's probably best to let Kate rest for today and Mystery isn't strong enough to handle the Rat Base yet."
Maybe Kate would like to spend the day resting her headache and practicing with her new arm while we find a way to get Mystery caught up. Perhaps, with this influx of coin we just received, we could find a way to supplement her abilities? Either way she needs practice with her magic.

Lucia shrugs and says, "Well... I guess it can't hurt other than costing a lot of GP if it fails. I'd prefer not having to put her through that again but do we have a better option? Maybe ask Mystery what she thinks of it."
I would prefer not to go through that again, but I will do what ever my mistress requires. Perhaps if I had a diamond, I could use a more powerful offensive spell that I figured out how to use recently.

Kate suggests, "I think the magic shop has some diamond dust that you can use."
(For convenience sake, I will always assume that you have any material components that are needed to cast a spell on you. If it has a gold cost, then the amount of gold will be subtracted whenever you cast the spell. No need to go and buy the components unless it is something very rare like Terrasque blood or souls or something like that.)
OK, well then We will just assume It has already been taken care of in her component pouch Tomoe bought her? (Or did she just buy her a wand. Do you want me to get a pouch and adjust the gold?

Mystery has a wand and don't worry about the logistics of it. Whenever she casts a spell that has a material that costs money, she just randomly has that material.
Cast the spell and deduct the gold. No need to worry about where the gold is vanishing to or where the component is coming from.
Lucia says, "Well... I think I've done all the investigation I can for now so I'm clear." Kate says, "I'm going to stay here and get used to the new tech."
Kate asks Mystery, "Is that so? I instructed you to do something for me? What was it that I asked you to do?"
Lucia, thanks to her experience with Interrogation and reading people seem to have caught on with what Kate did with Mystery the other night and discreetly signals to Tomoe to not let Mystery answer the question.

I figured basic componants but I didnt want to assume fore something like a diamond for the chromatic orb spell.

Yeah different DMs run that differently. For me, as long as you have the gold on you, you can cast it and it will use up the gold directly.
