Kate says dryly, "Yeah. I hope so too."

Jump cutting to next morning, Ingrid is dressed up in disguise and Lucia goes over what to initially say one more time. She takes Ingrid's medallion and replaces it with a medallion baring the symbol of a 8-pointed star, the symbol of Araph, god of Justice and Chivalry and patron of Knights and Paladins. She explains the origin of the symbol and says, "Wander around the slums until you eventually run into some Holy Soldiers. They will most certainly ask you what you're doing in the slums. Answer them with "I'm here because I was bothered by the suffering of the poor and the bankrupt while the rich ignores their existance. I came down here to see if there was any way I could help them and solve the problems that ails them and set the balance right.""

Ingrid repeats that all back to Lucia. Once all preparations are complete, "Sarah" heads to the slums.

Sarah embarks on the mission and after wandering around in the designanted part of the slums for an hour, she meets a Holy Soldier.

"Well met, Paladin of Araph. What brings you to the slums?"

I am tired of seeing the rich of the world flaunt their wealth and power over those below them. I was hoping I could do some good for my fellow man who are less fortunate than I myself.

"I see. Then perhaps you should join our cause. The gods created all of us so it is clear they do not wish for such imbalance. We are working together to liberate the poor from this state and make the city a better place."

How fortunate for me, to find people with a like minded goal.  Tell me, how do you go about resolving the imbalance. That is something I struggle with. 

The soldier says, "Why don't we discuss it over lunch? Our leader is an enlightened Cleric who, along with an ally, has figured out a way right the wrongs of society."

That sounds like a great idea. I will follow after you.

Sarah us lead to a dingy but large restaurant. The smell of rice and overcooked meat hits her nose as she enters. Sitting at a round table covered by a clean but torn up white table cloth, the soldier says, "This restaurant is run by our Cleric as funding is needed for our goals. We serve cheap to those who are unfortunate. It is a way to help them and help our cause at the same time. So what is your name noble one?"

I am Sarah. It is quit clever to run a restaurant to feed those in need and use the profits to do the same. Sarah will sit where instructed. 

The soldier talks as he eats, "The priest has tried all his life to help the poor but for every person he helps get off the street, two more are put there by corrupt and greedy noblemen who's hunger for wealth and power is endless. After years of trying, he has come to the conclusion that to bring about peace and balance in the world, the problems of society must be uprooted. This is because those who are noble were born into noble families. If there are no such thing as nobility then everyone will have a fair chance."

That makes a lot of sense. If we redistribute the wealth and power, we can bring up those on the bottom. But such an operation cant be easy. 

"It's not. We are working towards that goal with various funds we get from our activities. It is not exactly an equal distribution but more of a destruction of meaningless social arrogance. The only people who deserve more respect and honor are than others are those who have either earned it or those who are personally favored by the gods. Would you like to sit in on our Priest's sermons?"

"Sarah" doesn't want to seem to eager, she takes a moment to think before she answers Well, i don't suppose it would do anyone any harm to listen to the Priests sermon. Who is this priest by the way? 

He is Zhao Wang, priest of the Grand Emperor, Exal. His next sermon should begin within half an hour.

Well then, let us make haste. I wish to hear what this Zhao Wang has to say.

( i am getting a hint if Yellow Turban Rebellion inspiration. )

(Unfortunately no. I don't know what Yellow Turban Rebellion is. Zhao Wang is based on a video game boss)

Half an hour later, you are brought to a large room that is only accessible through the kitchen of the restaurant. The tall and quite muscular man in plate mail sits at a large chair, surrounded by Holy Soldiers, lower Paladins and Clerics. The man has big upward-pointed white mustache. He has a shaved head save for a long braid of hair. He is holding large prayer beads in one hand and chanting with his other hand close to his mouth. As you approach, he opens his eyes and says, "You look like a new face. What brings you here, fellow devotee of light?"

(The Yellow Turban Rebellion was a 2nd century Chinese citizen revolt against the Imperial Han. It has been made known in the west through media depicting events from the Romance of the Three kingdoms story. They wished to bring down the nobility to help empower the citizenry. ) 

I desire to lift up those poor unfortunate souls not blessed with wealth. Those made to languish in the dirt and refuse of the city while other lord their unearned fortunes above them. 

The clerics, paladins and the holy soldiers are gullible enough and buy everything Ingrid says. However, unlike how she felt while speaking with the Holy Soldier earlier, just from looking at Wang that he's a lot harder to fool.
