The ever vigilant Nemeia watches from her seat in the caravan. Her hands idly work on small creations as the journey progresses. Cali, who prefers to be moving to avoid gears becoming too rigid, walks along the wagon. Nemeia would often cast glances down to her friend and offer her a smile. It was still weird for Nemeia to have a pet but she was getting used to it. Nemeia couldn't wait to see what she was going to be able to learn in a proper city. She was sure that their resources would be quite expansive compared to these grovels she's been staying in since leaving home.

As they ride, Nemeia tries to find a spot to sit next to 9. "Hey,"she says as though she hasn't talked to her in a long time. "I know I haven't been as close to you since we met up with the others."Nemeia gestures towards Moira particularly. "I'm sorry about that. Are you okay with going to the castle? I'm a bit nervous myself given the... rumors.."Nemeia trails off a bit.
Soramoved about the Caravan as it traveled trying to be helpful where she could. Though compared to the others it was clear this wasn't technically her element.

Moira
Walking along with the caravan Moira absently chats with whoever she happens to be walking along with. Rusty scampers all around playing with Cali begging everyone for fruit scraps. Moira does make a point of discussing with Gerald again to conjure her hawks to help keep watch.
9 shuffles a little to the side to give anemia some space to sit. “You don’t have to be sorry, it’s fine. The castle... we just need to take our money and go away, although something tells me it’s not going to be so smooth. By the way I left something in your bag during the night. I’m not really good with these things, so I though it would be simpler just to leave it there. You may need it more than me.” She speaks with notes of reluctance, her tone somewhat reminiscent of that in the rain when they first met.
Nemeia offers nine a reassuring smile. "Maybe we can stop at a shop or library before we leave?"Nemeia has grown fond of 9's company and the idea of leaving a treasure trove of information as soon as they arrive disheartens her a bit.
"I noticed the dagger when I was sorting through my gear. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I do appreciate your gift and hope to put it to good use. I wish I had something I could give to you," Nemeia says but doesn't make any attempt at finding something to give up.
Witt will happily walk alongside Moira and will feed Rusty perhaps more scraps of food than he technically should. Does Rusty have a favourite snack? I wonder if we can find some in the big city...
Eventually she made her way to where Witt would be and asked him, "So you ever been to this castle place?"
I have, yes. Last year in fact. I don't suppose it's a very remarkable place, for those who've travelled the world. Myethnas is a grander city, to be sure. But they buy our wares, and it's good to have a regular buyer; we've always got on well with them. It's alarming to hear there are political things going on, but hopefully it won't change too much. Everyone has to eat, after all. Even giant frogs!
(DM, what does Witt know of Tarrin Castle? What does he remember from his previous visit?)
9 smiles ever so slightly for a brief moment before focusing on the road once more. She considers saying something, but feels comfortable in the silence.
Witt: You've never been in Tarrin Castle itself. You do know it's built up on a mountain side on the north end of Tarrin Kingdom. There is a modest sized town that surrounds the castle Other then being colder then you're used to farther south, there wasn't anything particularly special about the town. Usually you'll drop off the cargo outside of the castle grounds, get your payment and head home.
Also Rusty will absolutely eat any kind of food you give him.
The party travels down the road for most of the morning without issue. It's sometime in the early afternoon when you spot something strange. Up ahead on the road you quickly spot a tree felled across the path. You can't say if it is intentional or not from this distance, but it will certainly block the way.
"Oh my."Nemeia says as she sees the obstruction. "We're going to need to get that out of the way quickly. The trip has been uneventful and I'd like to keep it that way."
Nemeia will her best to survey the area for any sign of threat or cause of the fallen tree. (PER:5) She instructs Cali to be on her guard.

"Hold up!" Sora calls out as soon as anyone starts moving towards the fallen log. "This is a great way to spring a trap on an unsuspecting caravan. Let's not rush through this too quickly." She then heads to the front of the caravan moving up to the log on the road before anyone else can get there. If this is a trap, she doesn't want anyone else getting hit with it. "Keep an eye out for an ambush while I check it out first."
Once she arrives at the felled tree she looks it over carefully, checking it for signs of tampering.

9 also hops down from the cart, but rather than approaching the tree she slowly circles around and about, trying to see if there is anyone or anything dangerous nearby them. Perception: 26 + 1
As you all look around the fallen log, no obvious signs of tampering can be found. Indeed, as far as Sora can tell, the base of the tree was just rotted through and it simply fell over. There doesn't seem to be anything waiting for an ambush either. The only thing of note that you have noticed is that there is an interesting trail that leads off into the swamp near where the tree fell.
One of Moira's hawks is even able to follow the trail briefly and reports back that there is some manner of hut not far from the side of the road where the trail ends.
Moira moves back up to a wagon and sits in it "I won't be able to see or hear what is going on for a bit so watch my back Rusty." Watching through her hawks' senses Moira sends them around the hut to see if there is anyone or anything there that looks to warrant a side trip. Rusty sits guard over her and will telepathically let her know if there is any danger.

Not seeing anything that would cause her concern or suspect an ambush, Soradecides it best to just move the log aside so they can get going one way or another. Grabbing as firm a grip as she can manage, she simply pushes the trunk towards the side of the road so it won't be in the way.

I suppose we just keep giving him every and anything and see how he responds. What do you think, Rusty? Witt offers a bit more of his rations.
