Curse of Strahd

Manneo - Looking at Ireena he tries to understand what the fascination is that Strahd seems to have over her...he looks back at Skorn and trying to equally as quiet says, "So, you want to get her to safety and then backtrack to check out to this site?", Running his hand over the top of his bald head he then says to Skorn, "We don't even know if this place is actually going to be able to protect her...in fact, the only time we have known that she was genuinely protected was by our sides...not that I want to put her into harms way by going to this dragons forgotten place, but leaving her among strangers isn't any safer than if we had left her with that Baron."

Skorn looks thoughtful. I do not know if it is only wishful thinking...but I suppose I am putting my trust in the priest's words that Krezk can keep her safer. I feel every mile we put between us and Strahd is a step in the right direction, though. And despite my misgivings on his treatment over his son, I would trust the word of the priest over the ramblings of a lunatic woman and a crystal ball.

Manneo - Thinking on what both Skorn and Greenleaf has said turns to Ireena and says, "How far is it to this dragons area compared to the town we are escorting you towards?"

OOC: Basically I want to know the distance for each location.

The dragon place is about 15 miles down the road, Krezyck is about 50 miles north west

OOC: I don't know if it matters but i thought I should put it out there Flyn's favorite terrain is Forest (You have a favored terrain type. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for proficient skills when you make an INT or WIS check related to it. While traveling for an hour or more in your chosen terrain, difficult terrain doesn’t slow your group’s travel, your group can’t become lost except by magical means, you remain alert to danger even when you are engaged in another activity, you can move stealthily at a normal pace (while alone), you find twice as much food while foraging, and while tracking creatures, you learn the exact number, sizes, and how long ago they passed through the area.)

Mr. Greenleaf - Looking between Manneo and Skorn "Well I mean I guess it really comes down to what Ireena wants to do. We shouldn't make decisions for her even if we were tasked to transport her." popping open his map case Flyn will pull out a ration and being to munch on it.

Torvin says: "I agree with Mr. Greenleaf....it should be Ireena's decision.

Ireena says " If you feel the fortune Madame Eva says is true. I think we should go investigate."

Manneo - Thinking about what everyone has said including Ireena he says, "I want both. I propose...if I may be so bold, that two of us escort Ireena towards the town and two of us go and look at the dragons lair. If we all take Ireena to the town and then double back we are wasting time, meanwhile if we go with the proposition I am making we may end up gaining a key tool or information that will help us in defeating Strahd." After some thoughtful moments, "I want to go to that lair and I want Ireena to go to that town. I don't expect any of you to agree with me on this matter as it will stretch us thin, but I can't let an opportunity like this go without giving it a fair chance. If any of you would like to come with me then let me know and if none of you do...then so be it...I will then make the trip on my own and will meet you at the town. I only ask that you give my proposal a fair thought...nothing more."

Mr. Greenleaf - With a slight look of disbelief "What if that Strahd guy shows up again and brings more zambies, we had enough trouble as 5 of us against two of them." Slowly wiping the crumbs off of his hands onto his pants "OR a were-person, or something else, or we get lost or WE RUN OUT OF FOOD. We don't even know where we are."

10- you guys hear the sound of 10 wolves coming in closer to you as a group as you have been pondering your thoughts, I need everyone to roll for intiative

Skorn looks towards the sound of the wolves. It seems our decision has been made...that sounds like many wolves. To the dragon's fort...quickly! Skorn stands in front of the party, squaring off to give them time to get down the road.

Manneo - Seeing Skorn preparing to take on the brunt of a possible attack he reaches down and grabs Greenleaf and heaves him up onto his shoulders (think like a kid on his dads shoulders) and then he picks up Ireena in both of his arms and runs towards the path leading away from the intended village and yells, "Hold on Greenleaf!".

Mr. Greenleaf - Getting hoisted onto Manneos shoulders "I don't think these are nice wolves. They've probably been tracking us for a while."

which way are the wolves coming from? Can Torvin and Skorn guard the rear (at a slower  pace) of Manneo (is manneo headed to the dragon area?)

You guys manage to evade combat succesfully

Skorn backs down the path with Torvin, attempting to cover the others retreat.

Torvin will look over to Skorn and say (with a smile): "Mark my word friend- I know we shall see a flying monkey before our time in this strange land ends"

Skorn shakes his head with a grin. And I shall not be surprised when we do. For now, however, I suppose we shall explore the fortress. I suppose we will be upon it soon.
