When Nadia accepts several people in the room clap and shout congratulations, even the Duchess can't help but smile at the display. Well, congratulations to you both. May the gods grant you both a happy life. Now, you are all dismissed. Zack and Nadia I would ask that you remain on the castle ground for the time being. We will have to meet to discuss the particulars of new lives here but for now I'll let you both start acclimating to castle life. The rest of you are free to do as you please but I ask you not leave the city just yet. I may have another task for you but I'll need time to find some new blood to accompany you. So please go and enjoy the city and be sure to look over your rewards.
Everyone is dismissed and the rewards are brought out by the servants who lead you all back to your chambers. You're all put back into your own clothes while Zack and Nadia are whisked away to be given a rundown of the castle by some of the staff. The rest of you, once dressed, finally go through the rewards, one of the staff members is present to explain what the magic items are. Since Zack gave up his share of the gold there is 4000 gold to split (unless Nadia also gives up a share then theirs 5k). Beyond the gold the chests contain the following items. The sword called Dragon Slayer in its greatsword varient. A golden Amulet of Health, a small pouch containing two Beads of Force. There's also a small container of potions and a scroll. They are Scroll of Protection (fey), Potion of invulnerability, Potion of Fire Giant Strength, and a Potion of Superior Healing. When Claire goes to inspect her horse she finds that her horse has been reshoed with Horseshoes of Speed
Once loot has been decided you find you have a little down time before the Duchess calls on you. Zack and Nadia will be busy in the castle and so are effectively put of the campaign. Just waiting new character sheets before we continue. In the meantime if you have anything you'd like to do feel free.
Editing since Claire and Narz did mention other activities.
Claire, you help out at the gate while the guards vet people though the process has gotten more laxed as space inside the walls has filled up and people have started making camps outside. Wandering the refugee camp its not hard to find several people I need of your services and the next few days you help heal more people than you bother to keep track of. Several refugees thank you over and over again for the help. While in the camp you can't help but overhear people wondering how safe the city will actually be if giants attack like they have been further north. You had heard of giant attacks becoming more common place though you had been so focused on the plague it hadn't really been much a concern. On further investigation it seems many of these refugees came from settlements destroyed by giants.
Narz, a map is easy enough to find though its a big one and costs 10 gold, a bit expensive but it contains several points of interest on the sword coast as well as to some lands to the east. Inquiring about wizards you learn about Vyncent, the young up and comer who just purchased a tower outside the city as well as Lady Malbore, a healer in the River quarter. Its you're understanding both were present at the ceremony earlier. Lady Malbore does sell healing potions but its unkown if Vyncent sells anything. (If you purchase the map ill send it your pm)
Claire will accompany Rollo looking into the giant attacks more. At some point during that: "You think the giants might be worth looking into as well? My initial goal for leaving my home was just to assist with the plague and return home, but all those refugees out there... they need help, too. If these Giants are posing such a threat, I don't think I can overlook it. That danger may reach my hometown one day as well."
Also, is Rollo looking at taking the amulet of health? I was thinking about nabbing it, but wanted you to have first dibs, being a barbarian and all.
Alas, Narz had to hold off ont he purchase of the map until after the reward ceremony, but made it priority number one at the time alongside a casing. The same delay would come with meeting either Vyncent or Lady Malbore, as the hope for a significant reward tempered desires for it. So, this left the other pastimes to, well, pass the time until the ceremony.
Unfortunately, due to the general life style of hobgoblins, or at least Narz tribe in particular, the thought of a gift for the soon to be wed fails to even cross his mind. That is, those of the more typical kind for the less brutal races. Although if he heard anything about particular enemies of the pair, the goblinoid would silently muse during quieter times how he might bring them their foes' heads. Because it was certainly hard to think clearly with so many people clapping and shouting congratulations for so small an alliance of bloodlines.
So it was that the senstive eared Hobgoblin was rather grateful for the eventual dismissal to their chambers, and the subsequent peace to come with it. Yet with the rewards eventually delivered along with the details (or self discovery on his part), Narz was more than happy to put old quasi pencil pusher/accountant mindset to work sorting out the coin and seeing it divided up appropriately.
GP Split: 1333gp each w/ 1gp donated to a start up group funds If Nadia includes her share: 1600 split b/w remaining party w/ 200 gp donated to group funds(if agreed upon)
In addition to that, he made the following suggestion for the dispersal of the items based on the current needs of the trio; barring what's already been promised to others from former party members. Yet as the newest guy to the group, he of course is mindful enough to bend where needed in negotiations:
Once Negotiations eventually conclude, Narz leads the duo to their own business, citing a desire to acquire a few exceptional things, and even see a potential wizard contact. Assuming he catch the exchange between the duo before their departure then the hobgoblin adds, "There, uh,respectfully, no 'may' about it. I've had personal experience with resurgence of giant up north, and forgive me for my bluntness, it's shaping up to be one of the greatest shit shows to date. So, I suggest you prepare as much as you can, including some added protection for that mount of yours, eh? Now if you'll excuse me.." And off he goes to pay for a map, inquiry around the keep into personal or outside providers of custom barding, and then finally have a stroll to the wizard tower.
Which depending on the distant and thickness of the crowd, he made a point of riding his Worg to discourage the refugees all the more from trying to hustle or harass him on the way out.
If he is, hoping to convince him to leave it to Claire. Both because Rollo isn't fighting without armor anytime soon anyhow[ie. no unarmored bonus improvement anyhow], and the healthier the cleric, the more likely the whole group survives future encounters.
"I too have seen the results of the giant attacks and I feel that what has happened so far is only the beginning. It's why I came here in the first place, and I believe that not continuing on my original mission is why Tyr punished me so during our last encounters." And not just the dice giving all my luck to Urb.
Rollo is quick to remind Narz that they have not been around much longer than he and if they are to work together best then they must all be equals.
Based on my own skills and likely needs i would say it is probably best for Rollo to take Dragon Slayer and the Potion of Giant Strength. Depending on how our new friends take form it seems that Rollo will likely be our tank and it's probably best for someone else to carry the healing. With the giant strength we can supercharge Rollo for a battle if needed.

"Well we can't have your god tossing misfortune your way, can we? Plus, I find your company agreeable. Might as well stick together!" Claire responds happily with just a little snootiness.
To Narz's distribution of funds and items:
Claire scratches her head. "I tend not to toil with tedious things such as math and divvying up spoils, so thank you Narz, for taking the time to do this. I have no complaints!" Claire picks up and inspects the amulet. "It's pretty..." She smiles and dons it. When Narz parts to take care of his own business, Claire waves a farewell and thanks him for his advice. She then looks into getting her and her horse some better armor.
Nadia pulls away from Zack, a smile permanent on her face now and it showed no indication of fading away any time soon, even when the duchess begins to speak again. The elf would nod when they are directed to stay on castle grounds. She was bother nervous and excited to start her new life here and with Zack.
When dismissed and approached by Rollo, Nadia can't help but feel deeply touched by the gesture, gratefully taking the talisman and giving him a warm hug. "Thank you, Rollo. I'll be sure to wear this with pride on our wedding day." With one final goodbye to the group, the elf is whisked away into learning the ropes of her new life.
(Nadia will also be leaving her share to the group as well c:)
Narz is taken aback by Rollo's assertion about being equals in rank. But after a second or two, he relaxes and just nods in agreement. With those things out of the way though, it's straight to the other business to see too.

Claire, you make your way the stables and speak to the man running them about horse armor. He informs you that he cannot sell you any as all he has in stock is made special order for the guard but he can make you some. He can make you any Barding thats medium or lower. (See the link for types and pricing options. Will take 3 days so end of downtime you'll have the armor for your horse.)
Rollo, walking around the city you soon find that there are several tempels and shrines. Lathandar, Tymora, Chauntea and Tempest all of some sort of representation here. Unfortunately try as you might, you find no temple to Tyr. Some of the towns folk you finally find a man who seems to have some idea what you're talking about. Tyr eh? Yeah there used to be a small shrine here for 'em. Got destroyed oh some 200 years back. Replaces it with that shrine to Tymora. Think maybe they got confused on who owned that temple eh? But their weren't no priest or cleric to complain so there you have it. Maybe go visit the lady of luck and see if your war god is there still?
Narz, you purchase the map and leave North out of the city heading for the Wizards tower. Its a half a days ride so you take your mount with you. Not long you find yourself outside a tall tower of fineley carves stone. Two large gargoyles sit perched on ledges up above you and seem to almost watch you. Knocking on the door a young human man in a yellow Robe answers the door. Yes? What brings a hero of Daggerford to my humble tower? Yes yes I recognize you from the ceremony hardly difficult to miss you now what can I help with?
Although curious about the Gargoyles, studying them in any further detail would have to wait. Narz greets the yellow Robed and would be wizard with a partial bow at the waist. Then in a more rich and formal tone than displayed with the others, and bereft of the accent at that, he said, "I good deal provided you are willing. And I mean no offense when I say this, but I had been hoping to make a trade of coin and potentially information in exchange for the formulas of spells you would be willing to part with. That, or even spell scrolls. While my own branch of research has yielded unique results, it ever pays as a "hero" to expand my horizons for the good of all and all that jazz." He chuckles a little at that last bit. "Oh, and by information, not to insult your intelligence or exhaust your time, I mean potentially provide some of my own insights to further any of your research while I'm in the region."
During this short exchange so far, Narz watches the man closely, and if need be on the fly, reframes his words to either appear more appealing or at least less insulting for the sake of at least keeping the proverbial door open on a deal being made.
Claire commissions some Scale Mail Barding for her horse. She then continues to assist with the refugees, asking around for more info on the giants as she does.

Rollo you arrive at the temple to Tymora which sits at the edge of the caravan quarter of the city, just of the edge of the river quarter which houses the cities docks along the river. From the outside the temple is quite unassuming. The interior is small and lightly decorated with the symbol of Tymora, a face up coin. There's a small area for prayers and to the side seems to be another small area set aside for congregating. The interior of this temple smells heavily of smoke as incense burns constantly. A small group of people are standing in the room to the side talking quietly while another man, a tall, gold scaled dragonborn approaches you as you enter. Ah, welcome friend. I've not seen your face in the temple before. If you've come to pray to the lady of luck then feel free to approach the alter, humble as it is it serves its purpose quite well. If you have an offering it can be placed at the alter as well. If however you wish to discuss matters of faith or perhaps of another nature, I would direct you to the side room. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Narz, the wizard considers briefly before inviting you in and leading you to a sitting room. Do you drink tea? I'll have a pot made. Now, as for buisness. I'm not in the habit of selling some personal spells to any old person who comes to my door but I could potentially craft you a scroll or two which you could then copy to your own spell book. The real question is what sorts of spells did you have in mind, and how much are you willing to offer? I'll let you know I mainly deal in the school of evocation. I could craft a scroll in some of the higher levels in that school (up to 5th) however beyond that I'm afraid I may not be much help.
Narz would reject the passing off everything else, reminding Rollo -- or at least trying to convince him that the potion and bead would be better in his hands for emergency. As he already had more than enough alternate means to do what the items did. But again, he would take the scroll, citing a time admittedly of having fell afoul of fey magic in the past... and not wanting a repeat performance.
A simple nod in answer about tea is followed eventually by the goblinoid leaning a bit in increasing interest at the wizard's words. "Hn. I knew you to be capable, but to already have advanced to the 5th circle at the very least is extremely commendable. As for what I would request based on admittedly my own limited understanding of the school-..." Narz goes into describing both a number of low level and a few middle tier spells, or at least a conscise enough explanation of a desired effect for certain spells that the evoker would be able piece together quickly and fill in the gaps. From there, he'd voice a willingness to part with up to 800 to 900 gold if need be both for the purchase of said scrolls and any spare ink to aid in the copying process.
Of course if he was being literal about only be able to at most two at the moment, then two very important ones are request. If need be, Narz would sweeten the deal offering insights into the basic principles of graviturgy, and theories on how it might further amplify or alter evocation magics under the right circumstances.
*=If scrolls limited, this is the chosen spells x=If possible to get 2 scrolls If he also possesses the below three, which Narz would inquiry into, as the man said he was only 'mainly' an evoker, then bottom three should be included in purchase:
1st: Detect Magic, Catapult, Feather Fall

The wizard hands you your tea and listens to your proposal. As he sips his tea he leans back in his chair and says Yes, yes I think that will work just fine. As for the other scrolls, I can always make you a detect magic scroll for 50 gold each. They are fairly standard, however the others I'm afraid are outside my field of study. But if you have the gold I can start your order today and have it delivered to you in a few days time. I would simply ask one favor from you first. Vyncent puts down his tea and leans forward in his chair. I have a little target range out back. I must admit I'm curious about what you can do. If you wouldn't mind showing me how adept you are with magic, it would interest me very much. Then I can start your order, I'll even let you take a couple of ink vials home as a gift. What do you say?
Rollo looks around the austentacious room, to him at least, and shudders a bit. "I have only come for questions, I'm afraid. I am a follower of Tyr and I was told that a shrine to him once stood on this spot, a long long time ago. I was wondering if you had any information or other things that may be of use to me?"

The Dragonborn considers for a moment before nodding. Well yes. Some 200 or so years ago there was a temple to Tyr here. In fact I've asked some of my elven friends who've were around that time. Seems there was a fire, and unfortunately the priest in charge perished in it. A few years later one of my predecessors purchased up the land and fixed it up into the temple you see now. We might stil have some old records, land deeds and such if thats of interest. If anything survived the fire it may be in storage. Though before any such search I would suggest a prayer to our lady. You'll need the extra luck, and its not as if a devotee of Tyr is unfamiliar with our Lady, afterall when there's war you need all the luck you can get yes?
(Realizing the dm totally forgot about Claire he proceeds to make shit up) Claire. The refugees are fairly split between people fleeing the plague from the south and people fearing the giants from the north. With the plague dealt with it seems some of these people may be able to return home in time, once their fears die down. As for the people fleeing giants, almost all came from somewhere up north, having passed Waterdeep which is already overburdened with people fleeing the countryside. You learn that it seems giants seem to not only be targeting towns and villages in the country but are also fighting amongst themselves. One group of refugees mentions seeing fire and ice giants fighting eachother up in the far north. Another group mentions having seen a giant flying tower passing by Nightstone only a few weeks ago and it went south passed Daggerford. Some of the details in peoples stories begin to get mixed or over exaggerated but judging by the number of people from all over the sword coast it seems this problem is more wide spread than it seemed at first.
Narz leaned back propping up one arm at the elbow to ease stroking his beard in thought for a moment. On the one hand he was not so egotistical as some devestators as to relish the opportunity to show off the destructive capabilities of his magic. On the other hand...
"... Hmm... I am no Evoker specialist as yourself. But, I do have prepared at least a couple of spells that should suffice for such a demonstration. Which, I hazard to guess, is meant to assure yourself that your spells will actually being going to someone that can make use of them. And not some hanger on that happened to be in the right place at the right time." He grins, and with that takes a sip of his tea, before then setting it aside and standing up. "So, do lead the way." He request.
Once there he starts off with the most basic of magic missiling a target to -- if the range is large enough -- with the words "Almighty Push" create such an intense pressure upon the targets as to crush them as if a giant hand just grasped them, before then slamming them up to 20ft away.
(To DM: Forgot to put the x next to those he'd want multiple of. But assume he'd want 2 Scorching Ray Scrolls, and 2 Thunder Waves.)

Rollo lets out a sigh but nods. "Very well. I will say that luck and I have not been friends recently but I suppose that an offered prayer could only do good, not harm." He then slowly offers prayer to Tymorra, not really knowing what to do.

Insight: 22.

Claire commissions some Scale Mail Barding for her horse. She then continues to assist with the refugees, asking around for more info on the giants as she does.
Rollo would give Narz everything but the sword and the potion of strength.
Rollo nods to the man. "Well, I suppose it's worth a try. If he's not there then I'm no worse than before." He then walks off in search of the temple.

1st: Burning Hands, Thunderwave, Chromatic Orb - 150
2nd: Scorching Ray - 100
3rd: *Fireball, *Tiny Hut, - 300
*=If scrolls limited, this is the chosen spells
x=If possible to get 2 scrolls
If he also possesses the below three, which Narz would inquiry into, as the man said he was only 'mainly' an evoker, then bottom three should be included in purchase:
