Yes, you basically each have a 695gp coupon, only redeemable at Ruskor's Castle of Junk. But again, where else would you find all of this stuff in one place? Ruskor is basically a One Man Wal-Mart...
As the shopping spree comes to an end, the Party is fully equipped, with aquatic and magic gear, gifts for the Spa, Thanicles' notebook, and Planar navigation tools that Tam now knows how to use.
- A bundle of random junk including the bag of salt, Bath salts, medieval floaties made of sheep bladder, a small music box, a beach towel, a bow and ribbon, and a vial of oil.
After thanking Gavin for his amazing gift and the shop owner for his services, she pulls out her very sadly empty herb bag and shuffles the tools around with a furrowed brow. Looking back toward Mr. Ruskor (?) she inquires about some common herbs that will allow her to treat poison and wounds with her Healer's Kit.
"Any chance you have any Juniper Berries, Lavender, Chapparal, Andrographis, Goldenrod, Willow Bark and Calendula stored around here? I have... 42 gold left here from Gavin's generous gift and plenty of my own gold as well."
Per what I've gathered, she should be able to throw antitoxins and healing potions together with a few herbs, half the regular price of the potion (is that 12.5 GP now then?) and some good luck.
Tam has a renewed sense of purpose, a full pack, and a keener sense that if she really wanted to, she could disappear from view here in the city as she does in the Underdark. She was getting used to the city and it was changing her, she could feel it. (OOC: new level in rogue activated.)
"Ok, team, here's what I'm thinking. First, I lead you to the spa. We ask for an audience with the elemental, we make our gifts, and talk them into letting us pass. This is with the assumption that the elemental is the gateway's guardian. If that fails, then I lead you to the waterfall and we sneak into the water plane. I can't tell you how excited I am about this, and my hope is this part of the journey goes smoothly and without us using up the supplies we just got. The real threat and test is the jail, let's save ourselves for that. What say you?"
"Sounds good to me," replied Elwin, with an equal mixture of sincere determination and fear-squelching bravado. His usual eager smile was darkened as he thought of tangling with whatever it was that was causing the chaos in town. But he was as ready as he could be.
Torment’s form starts to shift and gyrate in a most disconcerting fashion, her equipment imploding in on her body as dark, soft hair bursts forth around it. She falls to all-fours, her tail whipping around wildly as her leg bones make a loud crack at the knee and reverse. Her fangs elongate as her face pulls forward into a snout, and she gives a feline roar. A sleek panther now stands before the party, her eyes a burning green. She bares her teeth and runs over to Tam, knocking heavily against the back of her knees to try and bowl her over and onto her furry back.
With Tori transformed into a Panther, the Party makes their way to the Hot Springs, back to the High Peak. With the cold weather, the Springs are covered in a thick blanket of water vapor and myst. Despite the cold weather, a few diehard regulars can be seen splashing around in the distance.
At the entrance of the Springs lies a large fountain, at the bottom of which are many coins. The fountain has an artificial river connecting it to the Springs.
A sign to the side reads: Admission :1Sp; Normal Bath: 1Sp; Deep scrub: 2Sp; Full Spa Treatment: 3Sp; Members: dip your membership bead in the Fountain...
Elwin's eyes roamed over the springs, and the customers in the distance, as he adjusted his backpack. As they approached admissions, he retrieved his bundle of salts, oils and other spa-goodies. He wasn't entirely sure why these things were valued as they were, but hopefully the bow neatly tied around the package would be enough to indicate it was a gift of some worth.
Tam tumbles onto Tori's back with a giggle and wiggles her face into the druid's fur, "You're the softest ride I ever had, *****cat." She waves to onlookers, as they glide down the streets of Talveroth, very pleased with the situation.
With one last snuggle, she slips off her mount and prepares for the moments ahead. She hopes this goes better than their last outing.
After looking around at her companions, she takes out the bead and dips it into the fountain.
The bead touches the water in the fountain, and turns multicolored. The fountain comes alive, as a Large size Water Elemental emerges from the stone basin! It bows to Tam and the Party.
Tori-Panth, without a second thought of propriety, sets her front paws on the fountain and gives the Elemental a playful slurp, grinning up at it with catty mirth before spinning about to bound around the party in circle and let out a low meow that sounds more like a roar. Coming back to center, she plops down in front of the elemental and leans her head to the side, twitching her ears and giving it a wide eyed look.
Suddenly completely losing interest, she leans back and begins awkwardly licking her back at a strange angle.
As Elwin extends his hand with the gift and bows, the Living water moves closer, as if it were inspecting it....it seems curious about the gift bundle...
"Oh, I'm so sorry about that," said Elwin with a smile, finally composing himself.
"It's just another person... it's just another person..." he continued to remind himself as he unwrapped his package and held up a few of the items to the watery figure.
"Oils! Bath salts! These should all... um.... make the experiences here far more comfortable!" he guessed, displaying the items as if pitching a sale. Unfortunately, he wasn't quite certain of the reason behind the gifts, considering Tam already had membership access. So he ended his pitch rather vaguely, "Please just consider these a 'thank you' for allowing us into your magnificent spa!"
Might as well make a Persuasion Check to get on the elemental's good side: 16 (oh good grief!...)
After Elwin completes his offerings, Tam bows in return to the elemental. "Greetings, Nøkke Sama. Liluminoy Catharel sends you his well wishes." Looking up with a smile, "He has graciously pointed us in your direction. We seek your audience regarding a journey to your home plane of water. My companions and I offer these gifts for a few moments of your time."
Tam brings out her wrapped music box, unwraps it, winds it up, and then places it in front of her on the fountain. She waits to ensure the elemental understands her, excepts the gift, and is amiable to the conversation.
