[OOC: FYI, the table is under a canvas awning but is effectively outside, not in a room.]
Guilliame closes his eyes and opens them with his Mage Sight active and notices immediately that Cyrus doesn't seem to notice the obvious somatic component of the spell; the man himself also has no obvious magical aura; nor does Handleader Wallus, who is is pouring the second lot of boiling water into the char urn.
Looking around, the only obvious concentration of magick that Guilliame can see is that associated with the eternal flame mounted on the top of the pole at the top of the stairs.
Cyrus reacts in surprise, "So you are a magus?" he asks before his eyes focus on Guilliame's school medallion. "Is that a real journeyman's medallion. Can you make it glow? I have never seen one up close."
[OOC: Seeherefor updated information about Guilliame's journeyman's medallion.]

He then channels a small amount of his magick into the medallion to make it glow faintly with the green light that seems to be his natural colour.

OOC Not sure how this is worn. Is it a necklace? Is that customary?
[OOC: I believe a medallion is normal worn on a chain around a person's neck, as opposed to a medal, which is normally pinned to a person's clothing. However, the important thing is the actual circular disk of metal and the fact that Guilliame can make it glow, not the fact it is worn on a chain. Therefore, I will leave it up to you as to how Guilliame carries it and whether he passes it over to Cyrus to look at... As far as Guilliame is aware, there is no harm in doing so, unless Cyrus was to suddenly do a runner.]

Looking a little crestfallen, Cyrus sits back and takes a drink from his mug.
Guilliame just has enough time to take a sip from his own mug before Alice and her companion mount the steps.
"Nothing really came from our enquiries, Handleader," she reports. Then she adds with a shrug, "Might be poachers, but there is no conclusive evidence of that."

The two walk on, first heading north and then turning to the east as the road heads towards the bridge that crosses the most northern tributary of the river. With the turning of the road, the buildings that line it—mostly storehouses and those belonging to an assortment of light industries—begin to peter out, being gradually replaced with fenced-off pastures containing herds of cattle, sheep, and other livestock.
As they have come north, the faint smell of smoke from the Dump across the river has grown stronger and this far north Guilliame can now see the dim glow of the fire there. The burning of the Dump has become a regular thing now; done to keep the mounting piles of the city's hard rubbish down. Fortunately, the burning is only done when the prevailing wind will blow most of the smoke inland and not towards the city itself.
The two walk on, soon coming into sight of the collection of buildings around the stockyards, which are full of animals ready for tomorrow's sales. Although Guilliame has likely passed this way along the northern road many times before, this is probably the first time he has come this way at night and at this time it seems that all sign of human habitation is centred around a single large building.
"The Shepherd Rest," says Handleader Wallus, pointing at the building from which the sound of rowdy music and raised voices is coming. "Probably the worst name ever because not a lot of sleeping goes on there. The owner's name is Brock and we like to keep on his good side because, without the Rest, the drovers and younger farmhands would likely come further into town and stir up trouble..."
"And that is the reason we are showing the crown's interest here tonight," she adds after a moment. "Handleader Zahn told me earlier that Brock reported that something, or someone, is stirring up trouble between the regulars and the visitors. So, keep your eyes and ears open and let me know if you see anything that might be the cause of it."
As the two get closer, the doors of the large building suddenly open and two men are pushed out into the street.
A man with a metal hook instead of a left hand follows them out. "You two can sort out your differences out here," he shouts. "And the both of you are barred for a tenday." The man then turns and stalks back into the building.
"That was Brock," says Handleader Wallus. "Now, let us see what we can do with these two."
The two men seem to be very drunk and, despite just having been thrown out into the street, are still staring belligerently at each other.
[OOC: The two men are still about 50–60 feet away and seem unaware of the presence of Handleader Wallus and Guilliame. Please make an Initiative roll for Guilliame.]
