"Well we both operate in the same area and Negress has been getting a lot of trade from the school. But I'm sure we can sort something out that will be of assistance to both of us."
"So you were going to tell me about Wamzut becoming Attina."
[OOC: I should have caught this before. In the timeline of this campaign (which is the world of my book), Guilliame only met Wamzut, not Attina, and until just recently Guilliame thought Wamzut was dead. All he should know at the moment is that a strange woman with pointed ears seemed to know him by name and referred to herself as Wamzut. Also, Guilliame doesn't know the name Attina yet. You will need to change the last sentence above.]

That's how Guilliame knew.
[OOC: LOL. Score one for Andrew! Sorry about that, trying to do too many things at once.]
"Yes, that's right," says Minton. "You'll have to excuse me, but I have a lot on my mind at the moment."
After taking a sip of his own char, Minton says, "Believe it or not, the Wizard Wamzut's spirit now inhabits the body of that... woman. She's a half breed alfaren, which is apparently even rarer than a full-blooded alfaren. And as far as I know, the only place the alfaren are ever seen is in the Coloured Court of Gont."
After another sip, he continues, "My understanding is—and by the way, I am having a lot of trouble understanding most of what he was thinking—he lost his body, somehow—burnt to a cinder, I think—and she lost her mind..."
After a moment, he continues, saying, "How? I don't know. Anyway, somehow he managed to... possess her body... which sounds nastier than I think it is, because he said her spirit was gone..."
Another pause, and then he asks, "Having told you this, I am having doubts. Are you a religious person? Is this just a complicated example of one of the restless dead. Should I be telling the temple of Donai about this?"

"Floating disk is also a very useful spell," Master Minton says as Guilliame takes his leave.
[OOC: For the record, Guilliame has already mastered the Floating Disk ritual (it is listed in his 'Spellbook contents' on the Notes tab of his character sheet), it is the Unseen Servant ritual that is new to him (See Comment #6 from 19 September). Either way, he can practice his rituals, but the roll at the end of this move only applies if he is trying to master the Unseen Servant ritual.]
It is a sunny afternoon as Guilliame makes his way through the School grounds towards the practice areas. He passes several other students, some he knows by names and greets, others only by sight. Most of them are younger than he is, some are children.
The practice areas, of which there are six, are little amphitheatres separated from the campus buildings to provide both privacy for those practicing and safety for the rest of the school. Each of them is open to the air but has a small shelter associated with it where equipment and spell books can be kept out of the direct elements. The amphitheatre themselves have a slightly raised wooden floor upon which chalk and other materials can be used to inscribe any mystical diagrams needed for the casting of rituals. There is also a school attendant who moves between the amphitheatres keeping a lookout for problems and providing help if required.
Guilliame finds a free practice area and settles down to practice his rituals.
[OOC: If he is trying to master the Unseen Servant ritual, please make an Arcana check at Advantage (+2 bonus) to represent his efforts to master the ritual. The number he has to exceed is 11.]

[OOC: Guilliame has mastered this spell and I have added it to the list of spells in his spellbook and its required components to his component pouch.]
[OOC: Ritual spells are not normally selected as 'Prepared Spells' because they can be cast for free taking the longer time. However, they can be 'Prepared' and cast quickly if a character wants to. At the moment, Guilliame has seven non-cantrip spells, four of which are rituals and three that aren't. According to the rules, as a 1st level wizard with an Intelligence of 15, Guilliame can prepare 3 spells. I chose the 3 spells which can't be cast as rituals to be his prepared spells; their use will cost one of Guilliame spell slots. Let me know if you want to change this, and I will do so, but for future reference 'Prepared Spells' spells are specified and/or changed after a long rest.]
Later in the afternoon, after much practicing of the ritual, Guilliame is now quite confident that he has mastered this new ritual.
Looking at the sky, he realises he still has at least two candles of daylight left before Mithra sets.
[OOC: What would you like him to do now?]

Here's a perception roll if you need one.

Once home when she is free enquire about Naomi's day. Tell her when she has time we can go over what she can tell potential clients for magickal identification services.
What I propose she tells people if I am not there is:
1. Either the object needs to be left or preferably arrange a time for the person to come with item.
2. Within about 30 minutes a basic result will be obtained but this could be inconclusive and would be incomplete in that there would be no knowledge of recharge time of the item for example. For a fuller analysis the item would need to be left for longer.
3. Clients need to give consent for the magickal item to be used for a complete analysis. If consent is not given then the amount of information given will be less. Consent involves acceptance that some of the power may be lost in use - for example if an item only has a certain number of charges then obviously one would be used if fully testing the item. While all care will be taken any costs resulting from the use of the item (eg. fireball damage) will be charged to the client.
4. Sometimes the use of an item will not be discernible and in these cases there will still be a lesser charge for the service.
5. Costs would vary depending on whether the item is magickal or not, the complexity of the item, and the amount of knowledge obtained.
i. 3 Cons if an item is identified as being not magickal
ii. 5 Cons if an item is identified as being magickal but it's use cannot be further identified
iii. 2 Engles for a basic analysis - what an item can do
iv. 3 Engles to fully identify the use and recharge time of an item
Ask Naomi if she thinks that sounds fine and/or whether she needs more information.
Guilliame leaves the School after being congratulated by Master Minton for his successful afternoon.
Keeping an eye out, he reaches home without incident only to find someone outside looking at the sign he put up earlier in the morning.
The woman is a Sorian who lives in the neighbourhood, and he recognises her as the mother of someone Guilliame knew when he was young, a boy called Wilf.
