The two guards look at each other and then the shorter one shrugs. "Not me, but I don't normally work this area."

The taller man then says, "Maybe. I know a Blacky. He's new in town and I've seen him around here a couple of time. Don't know this Will though."

Then the other man asks, "Are they the ones who gave you that bruise? And did you give as good as you got?"

"They gave me the bruise but I owe them a payback. Have a good day."

Have a quick look - look down the alley ways for whether they are dead-ends or not without going down.

The shorter Stemian guard calls out to Guilliame as he walks away, saying, "Don't go doing anything stupid, you hear?"

Guilliame spends some time getting the lay of the land walking around the buildings that surround the open space.

[OOC: He will now have Advantage on Wisdom checks for remembering the surroundings of the farmer's market.]

Head back home. Have a practice Prestidigitation display of 'Masterful mixtures' in bright colors.

Guilliame arrives back home without incident and spends some time practicing.

He quickly discovers that the size of the artwork that he can produce with this cantrip is limited, though he is able to make something larger by combining three images together.

Granny Naomi is very impressed with the colours and style of the sign, but not with the smallness.

I should have read the fine print.

Between the two of them, Guilliame and Granny Naomi work out the best way to make a sign for the shop with the words one on top of the other.

Naomi suggests that they get a new wooden sign made up for the door with the name of the shop burnt into it in the style they have worked out and that Guilliame can add his magic to the sign whenever he is passing to give it suitable light and colour.

"That sounds like a great idea. We can sketch out some ideas and I'll light them up and see what works best."

The two happily work on the idea for a while and then Granny Naomi sets about making dinner.

After dinner cast an Alarm spell covering the back of the house with mental alarm. Double check all doors and windows are properly locked and barred. Then an early night.

After setting his Alarm spell for the gate and the toilet access hatch, Guilliame heads to bed for an early night...

He is awoken in the early hours by his mental alarm spell going off.

[OOC: What do you want him to do?]

Grab sword and dancing lights spell components. Quietly go to back door and listen.

Grabbing his sword and the knob of wychwood he left by the side of his bed, Guilliame moves quietly to the back door. 

Just as he is putting his ear to the door to listen, a loud caterwauling starts up, apparently right outside the door.

Does it sound like the caterwauling could have come from a cat?

Yes; two, in fact. And it is still happening.

Cast a Prestidigitation spell with a bang and some sparks in the courtyard (assuming it is possible to cast a spell outside of sight).

[OOC: It doesn't say you can't in the spell, but most spells do require line of sight, unless is says otherwise... So no. However, there would be shuttered windows somewhere on that side of the house which would be opened enough to do what you want, which I will assume is what Guilliame does.]

Moving to one of the shuttered windows, Guilliame eases up the bar and opens the shutter enough to be able to see outside. There is enough light from the moon to see the dark shape of a cat arching its back and hissing at something unseen outside.

Guilliame uses his Prestidigitation to make a loud bang and some sparks outside, at which the cat runs like crazy for the back fence and climbs over it, making the mental alarm of Guilliame's spell go off again.

Head back to bed. (This is a really good way to annoy magic users if it's deliberate(which current paranoia suggests to me it might be).)
